@@samanthapalker1476same here. I feel like I’m hopeless at learning languages even though I used to be a Rosetta Stone coach with access to all those resources. I did speak German conversationally, but I lost it. I just suck at foreign languages. I’m going to try for Korean though. Haven’t started yet because I’m intimidated as hell.
Legitimately, I find her to be so empowering and inspiring. I was in a horribly abusive relationship but I got out. He stalked me for quite a while and I got rid of my presence online completely. And then once i started getting my life back on track, I got cancer. It’s so hard to have that hope or that drive to keep going. She’s certainly someone inspiring. It gives me a bit more light to look at.
The fact that she survived the fall and someone happen to find her. You can believe in karma, universe, any God/s or angels, some force definitely made sure this level of evil did not go unpunished.
@@RadenWA True, very true. I kind of forgot about that by end of video.. SOB husband sure was leaving her there and only followed ambulance to threaten her. She is so sweet and thankfully the hospital did right by her. Nurse is a hero.
Trees broke her fall. A hiker gets lost at that moment and finds her. A Thai nurse just happens to understand Mandarin. If this isn’t divine intervention, I don’t know what is. The universe saved one its best from one of its own evil. This lady is something else. Bravo
the biggest red flag was his rushing her into a serious relationship and then marriage in a few months, regardless of the fact that she wasn't interested into any of it. he crossed so many boundaries he had no regard for her it was all about what he wanted from the start. God bless her, so glad she is thriving.
yes exactly, this gives me stength i was sad about a guy just like this and now i see it could turn out this way. my friends told me about the red flags buut out of loneliness and liking him i didnt listen for these fw months.
its so crazy how ning had so much “luck”. multiple trees stopped the impact of her fall, the tourist getting lost from the trail, the nurse speaking mandarin… it just shows how good people will be repaid for their good deed and bad people will get what they deserve. i admire her a lot.
so is it luck to you or is it fate due to the kind of person you are because i find it very messed up to say “good things happened to her because she was good and bad things happened to him because he was bad” you know.. karma. but horrifying things have happened to good and innocent people. so why don’t they get that same “good karma”
The fact that he was terrified of heights and chose to push her is so narcissistic and evil. He knew it was something he would be terrified to die from and chose that fate for her
Right?!?! I was saying “gross gross gross what” louder and louder and it probably crescendoed at “and then they went to the beach and he rented two small horses”
The moment she read to us the letter, I immediately thought oh he definitely will be jealous of her. You know men’s ego is big but fragile is when they’re saying they’re bums but want successful women instead of focusing on women’s personalities n traits
He probably came up with the idea from the cliche c-novel tropes 😅. In a novel, with good writing, it seems sweet in the moment tbh. But I'd probably be so creeped out if that happened in real life
I literally started crying at the end the fact that she picked herself up from the bottom to the top and the fact the she doesn’t cry about anyway more she is amazing and I love how she started to build up her life again and it’s so beautiful
she really is an inspiration. I only hope for more good things to come her way, and that someday she can find someone who truly loves and appreciates her, or that just even more healing happens. I can't imagine how physically and psychologically that entire event was for her.
The fact that she was able to get herself back up after literally the most traumatic thing you could think of is so inspiring to me. I have severe depression and have been contemplating my place in life for so long and I feel the boost to want to keep going and be truly happy.
you are loved and needed much more than you think. please surround yourself with positive people and keep evolving. finally; JESUS loves you,pls give HIM a chance a. ❤
her husband's mum is the reason he turned out the way he did. she raised him to feel entitled to own or take whatever he wants and never take responsibility for wrong doing. shes wicked and That's how some mum's raise their male children to become monsters. please mum's,we can do better than this woman
I can’t imagine the terror this woman felt once she woke up knowing that this was not an accident. Last October I fell 100ft off a cliff while hiking with my partner. I broke my back, ankle and wrist and needed multiple surgeries to get metal plates put in. Knowing my partner was there and would continue to be there for me was the only thing that kept me sane during that time. You really do leave your dignity at the door when you enter hospital with a spinal injury, and it takes a long time to get it back. She must have felt so alone and I am in awe of her for picking herself back up. I hope that guy Rots in prison.
Not to be bad but just curious how and Why did u fall. Always be careful and is it the Grand Canyon ? How about your other family members ? why only rely on your partner ? So many questions . It’s so hard to trust anyone this days . Poor lady at the video .
To me, she didn't get "revenge", she got justice. Her coming out of that dark period, sharing her story and helping others is inspiring. Stay safe guys.
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"- her will power and determination to survive and strive is beyond inspiring. She's alive to tell the world her story.
that nurse is a damn superhero. would you in that situation try not once, but twice to get to the truth while being "just a nurse" when everybody else is like "aww honey, she's fine now. her husband is a nice guy" and the police is so blunt, they almost ruin everything? I have MAD respect for her.
Not too surprising. The husband actions are just too suspicious. I believe the medical team are already suspicious of him and that is why they got her to her alone the first moment the opportunity arise.
@vanessaland5090 thai police never want to interfere. They call it "marital conflict" (assuming this is Thai police) especially if this is my hometown police (the crime was committed in my hometown)they never wanna do ANYTHING but set up random traffic stop to fine people for their whiskey money. Also they probably never will retrain. Also 89% of Thailand police departments failed honesty test.
I think their experience makes them more vigilant when it comes to safeguarding patients or signs of harm. Especially since they interact with patients on a deeper level compared to the police.
Ming is such a strong person. When she said something along the lines of 'I've seen both sides of people, I have nothing else to fear' that really resonated with me. I hope she knows how inspiring it is to see her suffer such tragedy, yet work her way through it all. That type of resilience is a rare gift that she clearly possesses. I wish her nothing but the best in life.
My ex-husband did similar things when we first met. He pursued me with such dogged determination that I lost sight of things. I was in my early 20s when that kind of attention and declarations of love were very alien to me. I took him for simply being overly passionate and loving. One year into our relationship, he'd managed to isolate me and was becoming increasing jealous and controlling. Then the physical abuse started. At first it was just a push, then shaking me violently, to slapping and punching me. I tried to leave, but with a million apologies and some serious love-bombing, he'd convince me that his temper issues could only be changed if I'd agree to be more patient with him and help him. He claimed that he wouldn't be able to live his life without me. Four years later, after numerous attempts to leave and one final episode when he knocked me unconscious, I finally escaped. EDIT: Please be careful when someone comes on too strongly in the beginning. It's a huge red flag that mustn't be ignored. True, healthy love takes time to develop. It's never obsessive, controlling, or over-the-top.

So glad you got away. I think the lady in this story DID see signs (maybe that long as* message). She had blinders on. It happens too often with matters of the heart.
His sentence has been reduced to 10 years. He's already served approximately 2 years. Makes me concerned about her safety, she's already been through so much pain 😢
It's a little confusing, but it seems like he got life in prison, then appealed it and had the charge dropped to manslaughter, which was the 10 years, but then it seems like it was appealed again and the final sentence was 33 years.
There are narcissist con men but this dude took it to a whole new level. The tourist that found her was another miracle in a series of miracles. The nurse was another miracle. This is a very cautionary tale.
I think someone missed the point. She didn't misbehave, she didn't do anything wrong. The guy was a controlling asshole that wanted everything she had built up. He was a user and a loser. There are people in the world who envy the things others have. They don't get the part of how the person got those things. They just feel they deserve them sheerly because they want them. Since they have no ambition to create a good life for themselves they will take and abuse to get these things. The guy was a truly horrible person.
The husband that’s supposed to be the protector of both the wife and unborn child. That whispering to her ears about nobody speaks mandarin gave me chills … He’s a psychopath

How stupid is he for thinking that too? Mandarin is a very widespread language and Thailand gets many tourists and connections to China. Of course someone can speak Mandarin there.

Not only did he try to kill her for her money but also i think because he was angry at her for calling the cops on him when he stole money. That was probably what sparked the idea in his head to get rid of her.
Moral of the story, don't pressure your kids to get married. ESPECIALLY if they are independent and bring the bucks in on their own! So glad she survived but what a nightmare. So horrible
I agree pressuring someone to marry isnt right. But what I got from the story is be careful who you decide to marry. Marriage isn't the problem. It's who you choose to marry that's the problem. People can be deceptive. People don't take the time to discover the character of the person they are dating before making any commitment. Most people don't have principles they just go along with their feelings. The goal of "dating" before marriage is to try and find the "real" person behind the public face that people show. But sadly, many people overlook that and only find themselves in trouble. It's not good to go on just what a person says. How long did she know him before she (Ning) decided to marry? Because it can take 1 to 2 years to truly know someone. Did she not speak to anyone about him? Before marriage the goal is to investigate the person because it's one of the most important decision a person can make. When she said, "the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree" is important information. If you want to know what kind of person you're going to marry pay close attention the the parents and that will give some insight since they have been the one to raise their child for over +20 years.
I don't think that was the problem. I doubt the parents wanted her to get married to a guy she'd only dated for 2 months and they hadn't even met yet. Especially with her being so business focused, having her parents to remind her about other big things in life was good. She unfortunately just dated and married trash.
I completely agree with you. However, in my opinion, her parents can't 100% be blamed coz' they might be worried and doubt if their daughter were able to spend all of her life alone as a single woman. Or, well, they might want to have grandchildren so their lineage could be continued.
I dated a guy similar to him: love bombed me, distracted me from my goals, became a dependent, and did absolutely nothing to contribute. So glad that relationship ended before it could escalate, because it was absolutely beginning to escalate. Love-bombing is not romantic. It's a literal trap. If a person doesn't respect your boundaries, RUN.
The hidden manipulation and guilt, followed by love bombing. Never knowing exactly where you stand. That "obsession" type love will have your friends saying he acts "if I can't have you, nobody can"
Yes, she told the love bombing part of the story so giggly, saying how its so cute and romantic. Even when she knows beforehand how horrible it is going to end. That's how strong the toxic Disney/Hollywood hypnosis is. It is NEVER cute or romantic. Best case, you are dealing with an emotionally immature person that you'll have to parent in some way. Most cases, you are getting manipulated and prepped to be conned or robbed in some way. Worst case, you'll get horrifically abused and possibly killed. It's depressing people keep thinking there even might be a positive, cute side to this, it's even a goal, a sign of you finally finding your 'one true love'.
@@EllaGreenn WOW, that is soo sad that you think like that. Some of us are just passionate and wear our emotions on our sleeves, we would be love bombing someone because we know what we want in life.
I was love bombed for the first time 2 years ago and it truly broke me, but it was nothing compared to this. It’s hard to trust people after that, you know?

This makes me think about all those pregnant women who are stuck in abusive relationships and know that they’re in danger but can’t leave. Pregnant women are some of the most vulnerable people in society. I can’t imagine how they live their lives in fear.

@@mailvoor698idk what she did. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. Some men obsessively want a woman for themselves and no children involved. He could have walked away from whatever it was. It does not excuse his sickening behaviour
This story is what nightmares and horror movies are made of. I can’t even imagine how horrific and terrifying it must have been for her to wake up, not be able to speak and watch him sitting there in the room portraying himself as the caring loving husband. All the while whispering threats in her ear and glaring at her with evil looks. This is such a heartbreaking reminder of what abuse can do to a person, she was terrified to say anything even once she could speak. I admire that she didn’t allow her experience to define her and refused to allow her injuries to prevent her from making a better much more productive life for herself. She’s such an inspiration and the true meaning of what doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger.
I was a young mother (19) and I lived next door to a lovely Chinese woman when I was pregnant. She came over daily with home made food and insisted I eat it, and talk to me about my health and how important it was. She would have her son cut my lawn and tend to my bushes etc… she showed me more care and attention to my needs than my own family.
@karlwithak. wait huh? I don’t understand your comment? But, just to be clear, I was referring to when Ms. Mango was commenting on the caring nature Chinese people have towards those who are pregnant, especially the fathers. So I was reminded of and wanted to share how kind my Chinese neighbor was to me when I was pregnant. She was like an angel. 🥲 - I don’t think anyone deserves this and I’m not sure what tone your comment is meant to be read as but you are coming across as rude, at best.
I know! The way she tells these stories is so captivating. I play these while driving on long road trips, I swear it makes you wish you were on the road a few more hours so you could listen to a few more of these 😅 Even better listening to this on late night drives, it adds to the creepy vibes
I was preparing to go to a meeting and couldn't stop listening - through washing dishes, making coffee, and taking a shower! I remember thinking this was a long ass story but felt compelled to listen to the end. Her style of storytelling is detailed and captivating
I love this episode the best so far. Why? Because we have a survivor! And the photographs/videos of this remarkable lady who against all odds survived and recovered. Thank you for sharing this story.
I just saw the news a couple days ago that the lady went to the National Park again to thank all the forest rangers and the police that helped her, so I searched up her case and found your video.
As an older almost 50 year old viewer, that letter was in NO way, shape, or form romantic whatsoever! It was more about controlling and what HE wanted. And then to spend the night outside your door?!? Can you say Creepy stalker?? I really wish Ning would have had some girlfriends because they could have advised her all this was NOT ok and to kick him to the curb sooner. As my mother always told me, better off alone than in bad company. I wish all the best for Ning ❤
yeah, it seems like for the manipulator that he is, he found his perfect victim; an overly ambitious and passionate girl about her projects (so he can financially cling on her), but not the most experienced in relationships and kinda lonely (so he can treat her however he wants)! what a sick bastard, honestly.
When he told her, so freaking casually even oh Ive been outside your house all night bc I wanted to talk to you but not wake you up, all I could think of was Edward Collen
In my experience, most people will not warn or intervene when they see a very very toxic, abusive relationship. My mother knew about my boyfriend's sexually assaulting me and would basically just shrug it off. I showed her how one made me bleed and she couldn't have cared less. If I fought with my abusive boyfriends, she would ask me what I did wrong. It took me until I was lower than rock bottom, single mom of two, with nothing until I realized that what I was experiencing wasn't normal or alright. I was 25. Not everyone's normal is the same normal. I sought help multiple times throughout my youth. No one helped. Abusive narcissists tend to sully the names and credibility of those they're abusing in order to control the narrative. They're so good at what they do, you don't even realize you're drowning in the cage they've built around you. Healthy people felt like fire to me. I couldn't be around them because I didn't want to corrupt them with my worthlessness. It took me a long time to find my feet, and I was able to do so because of a handful of people who taught me to love and accept love and go towards love. Once I had that new normal, everything I had done to survive seemed like an entirely different person from me.
I cannot BELIEVE what an absolute bad ass Ning is😭 She’s still out here, being positive, trying to help other women avoid monsters like her ex-husband, and she’s getting her life back on track. His telling her “go die” as he pushed her off the cliff felt like extra salt in the wound, he really wanted her to KNOW, in her last living moments, that he did this intentionally. He was totally without remorse, and he wanted to make sure she knew it. And, that letter he sent her at the beginning, I thought it was creepy af straightaway. It was so one-sided & lowkey narcissistic, masquerading as “rOmAnTiC”.
That ending statement, "If destiny is your worst screenwriter, You should try to be the best director" and her recovery vid got me in tears. Stephanie, you did an impeccable job covering her story
What a miracle that someone “happened” to find Ming at the bottom of the cliff because they wandered. That’s divine providence. Ming wasn’t supposed to die. What a strong woman. She went through so much.
First, thank you for the great storytelling! But there is actually a detail I think is missing in the video. Ming says, her ex-husband relaxed after she pretended submissive in front of Thai police, then she got the chance to persuade him to let her use her phone. She got to call one of her friends in China, who later flew to Thai and visited her in the hospital. Her friend had a chance recording their conversation on her phone, in which the ex-husband orally admitted that he pushed her off the cliff. Ming says this recording became the ONLY evidence that proved him committing the crime. 😢Ming’s story is no news on Chinese social media, but every time i hear about it i will just feel horrible for her and be touched by her spirits. “Bad things do happen to good people at times.”
The part about further investigation after the doctor restricted the ex-husband’s visiting time is also breathtaking. After Ming told the doctor what happened, the doctor called the police. This time, Thai police officers were smart enough to not make the ex-husband alarmed. So they had to wear normal clothes, not uniforms, and pretend they were families of other patient in the ICU. Because they wanted to take notes of everything Ming said depicting the crime, they came several days and recorded everything while Ming was still in bed hospitalized. After that, Thai police finally got the warrant of arrest to take him away.
She had everything, lots of money, wealth etc, but she still needed a man. A man who didn't want her, a bad guy who used her for money, a gambler who squandered $150,000 from her account. She ignored the obvious major flaws, consistent patterns of dishonesty, reckless behaviour and lack of appreciation. Most probably she was enjoying the drama and wayward behaviour, tending to a man-child and feeling responsible. Meanwhile the guy was planning to eliminate her, get access to her wealth and marry a poor submissive girl. The lesson here is that we must be responsible for our choices, and not cry foul when things go South. Seeking sympathy and true love only when your body is broken into pieces is too late. If you gonna marry a whore, deal with it and take your bullets quietly. This guy was a man-whore and she ignored all obvious signs. When I date a good looking female whore, I know she is not marriage material, it's only for fun and temporary pleasure. I know how to keep her at arms length. There are boundaries and certainly no commitment nor trust. The bottomline is you must read and take people for what they are. If someone is an untrustworthy piece of shit, accept the truth, don't bury your head in the sand like an ostrich. Yes, I do enjoy banging whores with big busts and ass, but I don't trust them. I use my brain, I think. I won't leave them alone at my house and they won't sleep over at my place. I treat them like whores. Period. I know the type of woman I can trust and marry.
@@bwingbwinggwiyomi exactly, it's like with Britney Spears, while Britney has never experienced death (that we know of), both women have been through hell and back and they deserve to thrive in their independence and enjoy their life regardless of any man being in it.
He owed something like $150,000 in gambling debts. She actually agreed to pay half, and this was his way of saying thank you . He wanted her$2.6M fortune. The police were suspicious from the beginning. Just recently, believe it or not, the Thai High court first gave him a life sentence. Then changed it to 10 years. Then moved it up to 33 years a few months ago. .. I am an American living in Thailand now 10 years. I remember this well. I am in Udonthani, also in NE Thailand. The sentencing has me confused as hell.
I had to verify those sentences. As far as I can tell, he had a 2nd trial, his sentence was reduced to 10 years. Then she made some sort of appeal, ( and this was within the last 2 months or so) and it was increased to 33 years and 4 months. She was able to tell the police after 4 or 5 days the truth, and 7 days after he tried to murder her, Thai police arrested him. For the most part, Thailand is NOT a good place to be a foreigner and commit ANY kind of crime. It REALLY pisses Thais off and they want to lock people up. To top it off, a Thai prison aint a cake walk. I wa arrested once years ago after a car accident, but was free within 8 hours. I was alone in a filthy cell. While there I cleaned the cell, and the police were all smiles when I left. They watched as I sang to myself, and cleaned the cell. The cell was just filthy. Empty water bottles everywhere.....they did get a kick outta this American cleaning their cell! I am a brand new admirer of yours. I watch Mr. Ballen as well. He tells true spooky tales as well. Guess I am just sick that way.
I don't think Thai sentences are the harshest, they are on par with America. Europe has the most ridiculously lenient sentences, especially if you are female. If the pusher was female, she would have got 3 to 10 years.
It’s beyond me that he did this, especially because he’s her spouse. And the fact they he told her to die when he pushed her? Absolutely disgusting. Nobody deserves this, no matter how hard their relationship is with that person.
I know it's probably not feasible but sometimes I feel like all older parents in Asian cultures need to hear more of these stories of what could happen if their daughters feel so pressured to get married & have kids, and how it can so easily put them in dangerous, life-threatening situations. Obviously it doesn't always end up as horrifically as this did and/or could have, but I feel like as parents you should value your existing child's safety & wellbeing over potential grandkids.
ABSOLUTELY! For me most of Chinese elderly are like this. My parents, especially my mom and my aunts keep saying that I should get married ASAP as soon as I finished with my study, I'm only 21!!! I still don't have money to build my own family, nevertheless to pay for my own sh*t. But they keep saying women are "worthless" after we passed 30 and women age rapidly. What a load of bs. My 34-yo*ish cousin was forced to get married by her mother, she's not happy with her life now but she pretended to because she has a bus called "wife and daughter's duty" and now she's pregnant because AGAIN, her mom and her mother-in-law forced her to give birth ASAP because AGAIN, women beyond their 30 are already expired. I hate this kind of bs... Whenever my mom told me about this bs, I told her about this kind of news. Marriage doesn't guarantee you to have a perfect life! Why they can open their dead brains to see what is the reality?? Also, I hate how they keep saying women like some kind of worthless being! What makes me want to punch their guts too is they keep saying that we, the women, should keep looking for a perfect men, they should have a house, a car, a good career, a good education background, bla bla and we should be QUICK to find it, HOW DO WE SUPPOSED TO GET THAT KIND OF K-DRAMA PRINCE IN THIS REAL WORLD WITH THIS ECONOMY??? THEY EVEN MARRIED TO A PEASANT (not literally, but they imagine a prince and they couldn't get it, so I used this word to describe the opposite. Apologise if I hurt someone's feeling)!! When I listened to what Stephanie said, I took a really really deep breath. Poor poor Ning (or Ming?). I think she will be happier if her parents didn't force her and make a constant reminder that SHE'S A WOMAN IN HER 30S and let her find her own soulmate NATURALLY.
right like I’m not saying it was the parents fault too but like when your daughter is ready she will be ready because it’s not that she was ugly or not successful bc she was so she could have a guy if she wanted I feel like the pressure got to her too
Sadly, it's something that touches many ambitious, hard working women. They spend their time on self growth and their neglect od social interactions makes them unprepared for psychopatic MEN who prey on such women. Of course, it's not their fault at all, but it shows importance of emotional support systems in family and how important IT is to talk about situations like this.
I think that there were signs he's abusive - it was not physical violence but mental violence... But who would have thought he'd push her off the cliff. This is crazy. Incredibly strong woman, her story moved me!! I wish her all the best, she deserves the world. Amazing person.
While trying to search for this article online I typed in “man pushes wife off cliff” and I saw like 10 different articles and many of them were pregnant. What is up with these men… and why is a lot of crime against women done when they are at their most vulnerable state i.e pregnant. It’s such a dark story. She is so strong to be relive those moment me by coming online to share her story. It’s just scary isn’t it. No matter how much you think you know someone you can’t help but question if you REALY know them and what they’re thinking of you. L
Well I think it's a good lesson that we all never, ever, go stand on the edge of a cliff with your significant other behind you. My man will have to drag me kicking and screaming to that Cliffside.
This case is my PTSD and still ongoing nightmare. Mom is still trapped with a lying deadbeat husband/father and the only way out is divorce but great marriage laws will strip her of all her finance while he walks away rich. I’m so glad she survived and got out of it and rose back up stronger. Power to her!!
Ning is an amazing human being i really admire her mentality but regarding the crime from the trees that helped her survive to the nurse that was able to speak mandarin it just felt like everything is on her side and she deserves it
That's what I was thinking!!! Also the woman that got lost and found her beneath the cliff!!! I don't believe in fate or miracles, but this series of amazing coincidences that helped her survive are mindblowing, and she deserves it.
I am so grateful of that hiker who got lost. Not only for the fact that he could get her help, but for the humanity he treated Ning with. Holding her hand and talking to her telling her she’ll be fine. Even in the mose horrifying scenario where she wouldn’t have made it, at least she could pass with hope and a sense of safety.
Ning's amazing lifestory deserves a minimum of THREE whole movies: 1) her early wins as a struggling, self-sacrificing businesswoman, who meets Yu once she hits success 2) the over the top "romance" and subsequently rushed marriage (ending in the shocking murder attempt) 3) Ning's EPIC recovery, including justice being served.

What Ning had to go through is just horrible. She provided this guy with an amazing life only to be misstreaded by him multiple times. I can't even imagine the level of betrayal she must have felt by him saying "Go die" and then being tossed off the cliff. I'm so glad she had the strength to recover.
Keyword is "multiple times". Why is a financially well off woman clinging to an abuser? Couldn't she get a gentleman who treats her well? You have a big problem that needs psychological help if you stick up with somebody that mistreats you.
@@Accuface2000 Well we don’t know what went on behind closed doors. But it’s not uncommon for abuse victims to get a very toxic attachment to their abusers, usually because they were conditioned by them. Abusers tend to control finances, means of communication, use various kinds of manipulation (be they physical, sexual, verbal, mental, emotional, etc) to rewire their victims’ brains. If not that, then they’re very good at covering their true nature until it’s too late. And if this guy was apparently able to fool her this long, then damn was he evil.
Yes abusive relationships are not always physical. Mine was with someone who when he lost his job, stayed home playing games on his computer and phone for over a year. Didnt bother to find work and said he’ll just take responsibility for my kid (mine not his). He was supposed to take him to school and back. I resigned myself to knowing he probably wont ever work. But found out from a call from my son’s teacher that my son missed 3 weeks of school straight. Rushed home from work and found out he decided not to send my son to school because “its a waste of money. He isnt learning anything.” For weeks i would come home to my son’s uniform wet and hanging to dry. With my son telling me about what he did in school. He was teaching my son to lie to me. He robbed my son of an education. That was it for me.
@@vien111i left his ass. i am willing to turn a blind eye to his unemployment since i was doing and earning well enough but my son is a different story.

@serpentdarkcloud5810 I think the adlibbing is what makes for great "storytelling"...but I do agree that the length is a bit much.. but story perspective always involves some bias 🤷♀️
I dated someone just like him. In the beginning he was everything I wanted and said all the right things. When I got pregnant with my daughter in 2011 the first thing this “man” said to me was “you know you can’t have it right? I don’t want a baby, get rid of it.” I am not the type to curse people out but I used some EXTREMELY unsavory words and sent him on his way. I now have an absolutely gorgeous, funny, smart, sweet and creative 11 year old babygirl that is everything to me. I’m so happy she was able to rebuild her life and her strength is truly admirable and I pray for her peace. There is a special, special place in the afterlife for people like him and it’s not a good place.
@@ahtaystamcauther9376not to be graphic but…he would put protection on and then take it off right before…so if you’re doing that and ADMITTED to it, sounds like he was ready to me until I got pregnant. Thankful he’s no longer in our lives and we can freely live without his trifiling and narcissistic ways.
@@judahtribe7he and I weren’t married. We had been together for a while and I got pregnant with my daughter. I told him if he didn’t want to be around for the baby that was fine with me and I’d raise her alone. He continued to verbally, mentally and emotionally abused me the whole time. My family had to get involved for my protection back then. I’m married to an amazing man now who has been in her life since she was a toddler and loves her unconditionally.
It is awful that this is typical of abusers... You get married, you especially get pregnant, and the abuse ramps up because "now they own you". I feel so bad for her, especially losing that sweet innocent child.
Yeah. And when she showed she was still able to push back by reporting him to the police, he slipped straight back into "love-bomb until I can close the next trap on her and it won't matter anymore." I've thankfully never been in a relationship anything like this, but I was once close to someone who was really manipulative like that, and I got this horrible flashback to that when he started being nice again. Always in my experience that was just the lead up to things getting worse.
Sadly lot of overly romantic sweet talking men are like this, men are not that romantic by nature that's not who they show true love and affection so when a guy do it he is probably abuser and trying to win their partner
I witnessed a similar behaviour (albeit much milder, obviously) from my stepfather. Was somewhat of a goofster before getting married, but still had a job, did some chores, planned to be a parent. We used to joke he was a bit like me - kind of lazy, liked to play videogames and read stuff, not Always remembering what he had to do (I was maybe 12 or so; looking back, it was definitely a red flag to a 40 year old man to be similar to me). But it wasn't too bad. My mother married him and he started to laze down; they argued more; more and more would he lay on the sofa just paying videogames when my mother would cook and clean and build and ho shopping. After the birth of the kids, he would go on long trips for work to earn some money. For about half a year. Then it's like he realized she can't escape anymore. He stopped doing things completely, he stopped doing any help, my mom would ask him to do anything and he'd get annoyed. He didn't want to have anything to do with the kids. Told her she was the one who wanted them (it was him first). Started gaslighting her like crazy. Once told me to go on a walk with the kids with 38°(100f) fever because it'd be "beneficial" for me and then pretended he never said anything and we're collectively misremembering anything, but that did not work on me because I stopped living with them and wasn't so easy to manipulate. But he would always make her the hysterical one, the "too much" one, the nagging one, the unstable one... He was purposefully driving her insane. Started beating up furniture and call my mother a b*tch if he had to even lift a finger. Then tried to threaten me with "I can make your life in this house way, way, way worse" when I asked him to get out the trash late into the night for the fifth time because I was scared to go out by myself. At some point he just slapped her when she tried to argue with him and told her he's a man. I asked him once why he doesn't do anything and plays throughout it when he clearly sees she's struggling and is clearly on the verge of a nervous breakdown, and he just said "oh, I'd kms if I was her. But she's a good horse" and that's when it hit me. And the worst part? There's not much to do. There's no one who could help her. We didn't have any family members or friends who could help in case things go south. There was no support system. There was nowhere to go. It was horrid to be with him, but without him would probably be even worse. Sorry for such a long rant. The case really reminded me of all that until it started going to stealing, attempted m*rder etc.

To be honest, just seeing the title gives me chills down to my spine but listening to Stephanie tell us how the husband did this to his pregnant wife is horrifying.. He is suppose to be the protector but turns out he’s the complete opposite….
I just have to say this, the idea that she went from a near-death experience and feeling at her worst to using this as lesson to share to others, even learning it for herself and growing to live a life filled with happiness, growth and love is astonishing. I'm so glad she survived and was able to recieve justice. Hopefully, the useless carcass will stay imprisoned for the rest of his life and learn from what he has done. I'm just so glad she survived. You hear so many stories on girls and women like her who sometimes don't make it, even to get justice or share their story. Tuly remarkable! 😊
I can't imagine the immense pain she went through her recovery. The fact that she met the lost tourist at the bottom of the cliff and being brought to safety, that in itself is another miracle. And then later on when her doctors and nurses put a curfew on visiting hours to secure her. She's alive because all the people who helped her, and also just her immense will to live. She's an amazing woman. Thank you for covering this case.
Ning is such an inspiration. She turned her life around not once but twice. That criminal didn't deserve such an amazing person. I hope whatever she does and whoever she finds in her life in any form of relation is a genuine person.
Her resilience is worth a standing ovation. Ning, if you happen to read this I want you to know: you are the definition of strength. You deserve more than you have ever had and God is protecting you. Your courage leaves me speechless and I am here for your motivation. You amaze me and I am proud to call you a fellow “strong woman”. You have survived the worst, now the best is yet to come ❤
It’s heartbreaking that murder is one of the leading causes for death during pregnancy :( Women are more vulnerable and dependent on others during pregnancy and it’s so sad that abusive partners take advantage of that.
If this isn’t a MIRACLE I don’t what is. Just the fact that she survived the fall, a random person got lost that found her and a nurse that understood the language. God is amazing❤ Bless her soul for moving past this trauma
This story was so heartbreaking. Women, even pregnant ones, are subjected to so much violence and cruelty. Ming is a hero because after so much tragedy, she took charge of her own life. She refused to give up. She refused to let her evil ex-husband win. I wish they would make a movie of her life. She is truly inspiring.

The amount of respect that you showed this young woman in the video is absolutely amazing . The tribute towards the end of the video was inspiring, beautiful, and very gracious on your part. Oh my goodness. I am not an emotional woman. This video brought me to tears. Thank you for sharing this woman's story in the fashion and with the compassion that you chose to share it with.
Listening to this on Spotify, i rewinded several times to be sure i really heard right. This is one of the scariest thing that can happen to anyone (irrespective of gender). For a person to have their life all figured out, only for an entitled, lazy and opportunist to come and destroy your life is so scary. I believe because she hadn't been in the dating scene, she didn't see the red flags. Maybe she did but shook it off several times that it was normal. These are reason's why we should trust our insicts. I am of the believe that the husband's mother enabled him in so many ways. Imagine if that woman didnt find her, she would have died and that SOB would have gone on to become rich, blowing away all this woman's hard earned money. Sometimes, i wonder how people can sleep knowing very well how they caused a fellow being harm. I'm so glad that she's recovering and getting her life back together. Thank you Stephanie for bringing such cases into light.
@@katelynbrown98 seriously. One must really hate a person so much to the extent of saying "go die" then push her off a cliff. It's already worse doing it to anyone let alone a pregnant woman, and your wife for that matter
This was horrifying and I agree with you. We know it was a facade, but he had to have been one charismatic and charming guy for him to be able to talk/woo her into getting married so quickly. I can't help but think, if only she would have made a move after the theft incident and divorced him. Like you said, I think it was her lack of dating experience because she was so focused on her career. It was an absolute miracle that she survived and I'm so glad that she did and has shared her story. I hope it's a reminder to everyone who hears her story to always pay attention to signs and listen to our gut.
This episode was a journey. I just knew she had died after falling. The red flag for me was his rush to marry her, sending the text and waiting outside her house for a response is too intense for that short period of dating. I am amazed she not only survived but overcame that trauma and is an even stronger woman. I hate that she went through the pain but love that she had the final victory in the end. May God bless her
This gave me chills. And it gives me double chills to see Ning stand up even more stronger than ever. Wow! God really helps those who helps themselves with all their power. Ning 🙏🏽
also can I just say Stephanie has a knack for story telling. I have a short attention span yet I listened to the whole hour. I was only going to stay for 15 mins and skip through but she walks us through the story as if we were in the position. It’s like reading an audiobook. I’m so glad you turned to podcasts. I loved the mukbang versions but I prefer uninterrupted the story telling
I got eye surgery so could not look much at digital devices so I discover rotten mango podcast. I have been obsessed! Stephanie is so superb it's like listening to an intriguing, bewitching audiobook and the husband occassional reaction makes it even better!
Ning is a hero, survivor, angel - sent to smite her husband. She nor anyone deserves this. I am so sorry she experienced this, and then she was forced to be strong through it all. She is incomprehensibly strong. When I had a horrible accident my (now) husband was on his knees to be by my head, bedside, holding my hand and petting me. Because of this, I have a sick, cold and empty feeling at the idea of this...of him "nursing her better"... I. Wow. I want to add also, even with how wonderful my man was visibly to all the nurses, they still had him leave at some point to ask me if we were good and if I was being abused! It is just policy to do so!
That is very interesting, but I think that it should be in all hospitals! When you're hurt, you cannot advocate for yourself and if there's just one person taking care of you, you have to rely on them for everything. And for ppl to take the time and make sure you consent to them taking care of you is very important imo.
6:09 my boyfriend said that his ex-wife used to look at him with just such hatred, starting not long after their marriage. She ended up cheating on him and he found out through his 6 year old daughter. I’ve never been looked at like that thankfully so I wasn’t really sure what he meant, but it seems that she left him with a lot of trauma. He is always talking about how I look at him so lovingly, and how he’s not used to that and all I can think is “how can somebody marry someone so sweet and yet end up hating them so much? Of course I look at him lovingly, I wouldn’t be with him if I didn’t love him!” But the more I get to hear about the kind of things she put him through, the more I begin to realize that it wasn’t him she hated, it was herself. She hated what he represented, and he represented everything she wished she could be. So because she couldn’t be like him, or even be worthy of such a wonderful husband, she used his talent and people skills to launch herself forward to where she wanted to be. She convinced him to pay off all her debt, she used him to get better jobs, she used him to make friends and she used his family for every little thing she needed. In the meantime she used her awful personality to tear him down, cheat on him, divorce him and take all his money. She felt so entitled to everything that was his, that she even called him to yell at him about the fact her insurance was canceled after the divorce, as if she thought he was still supposed to pay for her insurance even though SHE’S the one who left! He had to convince her that he wasn’t the one that took her off, but that that’s what automatically happens when you get divorced, so ultimately it was her fault she didn’t have insurance. Now, after 2 years of us being together, he still has some physical scars from her, but the mental wounds are finally starting to heal. He used to wake up out of dead sleep to profusely apologize for bumping his leg against mine. He used to apologize for EVERYTHING and sometimes i still have to catch him and tell him that he has no need to apologize. I can’t imagine what poor Ning went through, and I hope she experiences her own true healing, away from monsters like this. I’m sure my boyfriend’s ex wife could have done so much more damage to him if he was the woman and she was the man, i’m glad she never tried to kill him or anything, I don’t think she’d go that far, but she definitely left him as a hollow shell of his former self. I’m doing my best to help build him back up to the glory I know he is capable of. I hope Ning finds someone to help her do the same, whether a new love, or even just a new friend. It’s so tough to go through things like this when you feel so scared and alone.
That woman is one bad ass woman. She’s inspiring and I’m glad I got to learn her story here in Colorado. If you are reading this Ning, you have inspired women across the world with your strength and resilience. I wish you all the luck in the world for a beautiful well deserved life. 💚
I'm absolutely sobbing. I've never heard a more inspirational story, Stephanie - and I have watched True Crime for decades. As someone who feels like a victim to destiny, who also had a "scammer" ruin my chances for marriage and children, and stole from me, obviously not to the extent Wang Nan did, I guess I have been waiting for someone to tell me that - "If destiny is the worst screenwriter, then, you should try to be the best director." Those are words to ACTUALLY LIVE by. I'm grateful you shared her absolutely horrific, but incredible story. Thank you.
The fact that she was so independent, then survived such a fall, and managed to not only get him in jail but also persevere through her recovery road was amazing. That nurse is GOATed.

Yep thanks for the reminder!
@@annelieseharrison9027 they definitely rushed it!!!

Where can I watch the vid?
What a miracle that someone “happened” to find Ming at the bottom of the cliff because they wandered. That’s divine providence. Ming wasn’t supposed to die. What a strong woman. She went through so much.
No, it's luck and coincidence. They do happen in the vastness of the universe and time.
Absolutely 💯
If divine providence existed she would get a sign not to trust him in the first place
Yes, bad things happen to good people all the time, this is why it's important to give to the orphan, widow, disabled, elderly, or the sick.
i can’t even begin to imagine how difficult it is for her to trust after that

Obviously it doesn't always end up as horrifically as this did and/or could have, but I feel like as parents you should value your existing child's safety & wellbeing over potential grandkids.
Weird how they desperately want grandchildren knowing it’s hard raising children and why be with the wrong person?
I’m so happy she dived into recovery after all this hardship
She is 1000 times stronger than me, I have to admit
Girl you better divorce him
I had a problem with a family member teaching my son to lie to me as well. That shit just hurts so much.

It’s heartbreaking that murder is one of the leading causes for death during pregnancy :(
Women are more vulnerable and dependent on others during pregnancy and it’s so sad that abusive partners take advantage of that.
Agree
It's THE leading cause I believe which is crazy because pregnancy is dangerous and so is birth.

I couldn't imagine her fear and pain while in the icu with her husband. Unimaginable.
For real. 😔
One's own partner tried to kill them in the ICU with them.
Of course I look at him lovingly, I wouldn’t be with him if I didn’t love him!”
But the more I get to hear about the kind of things she put him through, the more I begin to realize that it wasn’t him she hated, it was herself. She hated what he represented, and he represented everything she wished she could be. So because she couldn’t be like
him, or even be worthy of such a wonderful husband, she used his talent and people skills to launch herself forward to where she wanted to be.
I feel so bad for him but I'm glad he has you! Omg
