It was actually stated during the Q&A for this Death Battle that Guy didn’t necessarily need to go to the 8th gate to kill All Might. The 6th or 7th gate would’ve been enough. Great reaction bro.
That's just the kind of dude that Might Guy is, though. Go big or _go the fuck home, homie._
Heck, not only that, All Might actually _asked_ for his opponent's best and, this being a Death Battle, Might was pretty much obligated to oblige.
In the end though, I don't really care that All Might was outclassed. They both went in with all they had and they both clearly had a great time doing it. Ninja Jesus will probably come by to revive them both so they can do it all over again. It was just a super positive and fun kinda fight.
"For Death Battle, we always look at a character's peak performance across their whole life" Honestly, this was almost as funny a joke as their "We're supposed to be impartial" bit at the end of Deadpool vs. the Mask. And no, I've never watched My Hero Academia, so this isn't in reference to this fight
