@@daliks scar tissue, they say by 8 weeks the rom you have is what you’ll get: after 8 or 9 weeks it’s really difficult & painful to break thru that tissue. So get on the rom exercises right away and do them multiple times a day for those 8 weeks. It’s not ez but so worth it later!

I'm 56 and feel like I'm riding better than I've ever ridden in my entire mtb life (started mtb'ing in 1986 - earlier if you consider riding 10 speed road bikes on dirt bike trails in the late 70's). While I do chicken out on the huge leaps (I need my day job!), I like nothing better than side-hits, drops, medium jump lines, and real technical sketchy terrain. The thing that really pisses me off is: Why did bikes have to only get REALLY GOOD in the last few years?!?!?!? Bikes of the last 4-5 years are so much better by leaps and bounds than what we came up on......Great to see you feature that guy - as us old guys still have a lot left in the tank, as the sands of the hourglass run faster every year....

inspiring. I turned 50 this year and decided to thrash a 100 pound aostirmotor s18 monster truck bike. It is unlikely to be where I have been... it's like i am grooming some of the trails. ..and I love it. For me the age thing is about lungs. You keep those pumping, nothing fades. 🎉 Respect Nick 🎉 🎉 Yes, and respect Remy for showing that it’s all about the head and the heart not the age🎉
There’s a lot of good older shredders out there who’ve ridden for decades and recently discovered and progressed at Bike Parks. We didn’t have Bike Parks and the tracks that have arisen from them when we were your age Remy - although in my area Peaty was building awesome stuff back in the day and hasn’t stopped supporting that (Steel City etc). I ride with a 59 year old who shreds like this and was chatting to a fella at the Atherton’s Dyfi Bike Park recently in the U.K. who was shredding everything on his DH rig - didn’t ask his age as it’s not relevant… But he looked as old as me and I’m 67 and shredding happily.
Just one thing, we break more easily. Not sure why, but maybe not being quite so cat-like and strong in the upper arms these days (I’m currently nursing 8 # ribs and a clavicle won at BPW in Wales 😅😅😅).

I saw 27 minutes and almost skipped. However, whenever I do watch your longer vids they never disappoint. Mate, that was awesome! There was no letting up there at all for Nick during this entire video. Mad props to him for just smashing everything. I'm 52 and find myself riding with guys ranging from mid 20's to late 30's. Shoot...when you're out there having FUN who gives a flying F how old you are?! I just love MTB.

Gettin old is inevitable, it's happening right now, to all of us. Make the most of it while you can. I'm 53 years old and been riding my entire life, and I still go hard, but not like I used to. I've already had one knee replacement and I'm working on my second. I'll never stop riding, until they won't let me out of the home anymore. Then I'll sneak out like when I was a kid.
Mad Propps to this old head and I hope I shred like that at 58, in 5 years.
