Brock, i owned a JD gator when we lived in SW missouri on 10 acres. We now live in Utah on 2 acres and own a can am defender max HD 10 limited. The can am is amazing and we drive it on the roads and endless trails. Not even in the same category as a gator. Great video.
We bought a Kawasaki Mule Pro FX in 2023. Our property is heavily wooded and steep. Though we have a tractor it cannot be used down in the woods. The Mule will go just about anyplace I need it to and it has been extremely dependable and easy to work on. The deciding factor in choosing it over the other big name side by sides was the bed size. We use it like a mini-truck to move tools and supplies around our place. I have a full size truck toolbox in the bed and still have more room left to use than most empty beds on most of the competition. It isn't a speed demon, with a top end of around 40 mph. But I didn't but it to race. I do use it on the road and haven't had any problems. We have a hay field about 8 miles from the house and I regularly use it to go over there. I think that the big name side by sides are all good and they all have specific strengths and weaknesses. My priority was utility and the Mule has served us well.
I was just looking at these yesterday, uncanny you made a video on it. Always appreciate your thoughts and ideas. Well done and thanks. And yes scope creep is real lol
Great video. Yes, you can buy a used truck but you are buying the history that comes with it. When you just want to get work done the last thing you need is to repair your tools!
I have my heart set on the Kawasaki Mule FXT 1000...really like the ability to move between 3 and 6 passengers with the expandable bed. More often than not, we will only need 2-3 passengers, but will be nice to be able to accommodate more folks when we do have visitors.
I have a Massimo Tboss 550 and bought it used. It’s been a great machine for me and my wife. I plow my steep driveway in the winter and we haul stuff, brush etc all year long. I have put over 500 pounds in the bed and had towed about 1200 pounds.
My personal opinion , unless I was playing off-road I don't see how a guy could go wrong with the mini truck. To me they just make the most sense. And they are so easily modified for your needs. Heck I know guys who have taken the gas engine out and converted to diesel. I've watched off roading with them with a 2" lift and off-road tires and they seem almost unstoppable.
Over the years I have purchased 3 side x sides. 2009 Kawasaki Mule 610, 2015 Kawasaki 4010 Transport and a 2024 Kubota RTV-X1140 Diesel. All great machines. I still have all of them. Dealer network and proven brands.
Hey Brock. Great video. I've got a JD 825m that I bought new in 2018. If I could go back, I'd search out a used 2x4 gator with no frills for $5k. At this point though, It's almost paid for, and I know I'll probably never replace it... so I'm planning on keeping it. --- A few other points. I almost never go over 30mph on the property. That's plenty fast for me. I've never been on the public roads (more than a house or two down the street), even though I did get the turn signals and mirrors, etc. (mine isn't plated). I do love the power steering. I did pay for the hydrolic dump lift bed, but use it less than twice a year -- So I kinda feel like that was a waste... The bed is "Always" filled with tools/projects. And This winter is the first time I've ever put the doors on. I probably would not get those again, but understand if you're in more severe weather, they might make more sense. Biggest thing I would change as my family grows.... I really wish I had two rows of seating. It would get used all the time. We're a family of 5 and like to do things together, but we're starting to barely fit!! And we love taking friends for rides, and people are always left out. Just not enough room for everybody!! Take those 2 cents and chuck them in the woods!! Look forward to seeing what way you go!! I know you'll love it! Best, -- J. Andre. / Old Iron Acres
In Kuwait (Arif Jan) we had all those JD models, all diesel, Polaris. Fun times and go anywhere, throw tools in and service equip and vehicles in the desert. Very handy and dependable.
Brock one thing that you did not mention is turf mode , it unlocks your rear differential so you don’t tear up the ground and makes it turn easier. Polaris has it I’m not sure what other brands offer it. Thank you for the video
Very timely video. I just ordered a Kandi Innovator e10k yesterday. What I really wanted was something electric partly because I am really into solar and because I just hated dealing with the gas engine in my ATV. I sacrifice range for ease of maintenance, cheaper fuel per mile. Time will tell if I made the right choice. Only concern I have is replacing batteries in the future. I'm hoping the battery doesnt havto communicate but I'll cross that road when I come to it. My tractor purchase creeped like you said. I started wanting a 4000$ chinese mini skid steer from an auction, then moved up and up on the excavators until I was thinking electric excavator. Then I decided I should just get a used tractor, then I saw cabs were in my range, but after deciding what features I wanted I had to go new and I get a cab model TYM T754 TLB next week :)
Howdy Brock! Pretty cool video. Never really looked at side-by-sides before, but I can see some potential for one if we end up with the size property we want. Strictly going off what we saw in the video that UForce model at the end looks to be a pretty capable machine and a good deal for the money. Well done and thanks for sharing 🤠
kawasaki pro fxt 1000 was my pick. I often need 4 seats, but sometimes need a full bed. It was the only REAL solution to that. Plus, it was way cheaper than many of the other name brand options. It isn't as fancy, and does have some design deficiencies....but it definitely does the job!
I am in similar boat as you being in the market for a sxs or atv. I would prefer a side by side by far for work around our property. I am not looking to spend as much as a new car like the premium ones but if I had that budget I would look at the Can Am Defender with the 6 foot bed. That dealer didn't have a model but it is what more companies need to do. It has similar capacity for the bed like a mini truck which is also a great option. All these companies say they make these vehicles for farms and work but few of them have really decent size beds. I believe Kubota, Kawasaki, and Can Am currently have some of the largest beds and payload capacity. I'd love a new machine but I am sure I will find an older used Mule or something to get us by. If buying new I would agree with you that the Big Horn and Tboss models made by HiSun seem to give a lot of value for the money plus they have made machines for a long time.
Great video Brock, I don't recommend the Massimo t-boss 550 . I have had several small things go wrong with it ,in my 2 years of owning it. Finding someone to work on the is nearly impossible in my area, most of the parts I order online. You get what you pay for!!!!!
we purchased a jd diesel gator 10 yrs ago - used, up to last yr it ran , then we purchased a used kubota diesel rtv 900 , a few hrs but not worried since a diesel - some parts replaced , with this kubota i like the tranny - no belt
Kelly wants to side-by-side and I don’t know why they’re so darn expensive. But then I’ve looked at golf carts and they are absurdly expensive with limited function. I’ll be in touch early February.
Price is the number one absolute determining factor, I own a RZR an older one that I didn't pay a lot for, but for a utility SxS for property I would find something used. Depending upon where I lived in the Country an old school small Japanese pick up 4x4 from the 80's or 90's there still around they can be had pretty cheap, and certainly they don't have to be perfect.
In my opinion, I think the Polaris Ranger 570 full size is a great machine for the money. My brother in law and my father in law have the 3 seat version. They have been great for them. I have the 570-6 that has the back seat. I love it. It's crazy how much they have gone up. I bought mine new in 2018 with a top, folding windshield, and a 4500 lb winch for $12,200.
Bought my Ranger 570 full size in 2014. It has a little over 2000 miles on it now. Only a couple of minor issues over 10 years. I use it weekly for hauling fire wood and it is set up for plowing snow. They have plenty of power to do just about any task. Once you own one you will never want to be without one.
I would absolutely not buy an off brand sxs from tractor supply, lowes etc. Those will be a problem. Name brand is a must. Polaris, Kubota, CanAm, honda, Kawasaki, JD maybe. Checkout CF Moto. I was told the guy who started cf moto was an original designer for the polaris rzr started cr moto. Good quality and competitive price.
Do not buy a Kawasaki mule fxr or a mule mx i had both Kawasaki mules are trash . I got rid of them and got a can am defender and it is a great machine

That was a lot of GREAT information! Man, those Can Am machines are next level for sure! Thanks for including us in your video.

I like the Lucas Peek cameo haha. Good video, Brock!
Thanks
Great video totally unbiased worth watching. I can't ride today. It's 10 below in northern Maine. But this was almost as good.

I cant justify 10-30,000 for these things. I bought a 1990 samurai for $5,000 that is jacked up and will go anywhere. I can fix anything on it.

Roxor with the hvac and cab setup is excellent.
Thanks Brock.
Seeing the Deeres sitting there all dirty and looks like one was leaking. ???
Great video Brock. We love our Polaris 570 eps midsize Ranger. Does everything well around the acreage. Best tool on the farm.
I have the Honda Pioneer 1000-5 camo edition.. love it.

Roxor 100%. Had mine over 10 years. Wouldn't trade it for 2 sxs or a mini. Sold my mini after I bought the roxor.

"Not going to take up the time of the tractor supply employees" = We all know they have no idea about anything they sell. 🤣
Yup, they're retail clerks
In Kuwait (Arif Jan) we had all those JD models, all diesel, Polaris. Fun times and go anywhere, throw tools in and service equip and vehicles in the desert. Very handy and dependable.
Great review of all the brands and @15:50 do I really talk that way?? 👊

I bought a CFOTO UFORE 600 great price compared to others with extra add ons

Loving that tractor that chad. Got 🎉
on the big kubota they have a models with 6 ft beds , and ours have a hydraulic dump bed
Jd or can-am is the only way I would go, I currently have a 2011 825i it owes me nothing has been an incredible workhorse.
Can-Am HD9 is a V-Twin 65HP, not single cylinder. I have Can-Am Defender Limited - love it.

The yanmar sxs is a rebranded yamaha viking. Great machines anything yamaha makes, Japanese quality
Towing 4000lb and stopping it is hole different story.
I can’t understand how those Side-by-sides are worth $30,000. I think the mini trucks are a better deal.
That JD location was so typical of my experience, no one wants to help you.
with diesel i can run off road diesel and have the low end torque
I hardly ever go over 60 mph in my pickup, no way would I even attempt that speed in a side by side!
Mind boggling it would be hard to make a choice but I can’t afford any of them so that’s not a hard choice for me lol
👀👀
Morning
Mornin' 🤠
I just couldn’t justify the price tag. I bought a used Nissan Hardbody 4x4 for 4K.
HiSun, Massimo, Coleman etc. are a hard no for me. Poor quality, difficult to get parts, poor performance.
Do not buy a Kawasaki mule fxr or a mule mx i had both Kawasaki mules are trash . I got rid of them and got a can am defender and it is a great machine
I started 1 week ago and I achieved no subscribers yet . I pray you all achieved your goal and dreams😊😊❤
Brock may the lord bless and protect you and making the right decision
I would look and see if moto.C f moto
