I avoid horror in general, but a quick perusal of Goodreads ranks this quite low--are you upset that Cari Mora had lackluster characters after a good Hannibal or are you upset that it had good characters and wasn't well received?

Your "characters felt like real characters" line and observing their scarcity in thrillers makes me even more angry about Cari Mora.

@@cynthiapayne9906 All the characters in the first two Hannibal books were robust. Cari Mora (which I dnfd) felt more like a Dan Brown novel.
