Too funny. An orange cat started hanging around our yard last year that has adopted us lol, my mom named him yardley, i have a section of just hostas and he hangs out in there and i sing it when he's hanging out in them lol
Laura, just love ,love love that Russell. He always manages to get in the video. I am sure all the cat lovers out there enjoy seeing him as much as I do❤
Three unrelated thoughts: Aaron, the grass is gorgeous and really makes your gardens look so beautiful. Also, I loved the camera angles in this video - well done Laura. I was watching the stones in your unfinished garden path when Laura was walking and I did not see any movement in the stones so it looks like they are settled in nicely. What a fun video - you brought back some energy from garden show coupled with more mild temps made this a joyful video.
I absolutely love when there is no music. It’s just so nice and peaceful to listen to the wind rustling in the leaves, the water running in the fountsins and all the natural sounds. Don’t get me wrong, I love music but the calmness the no-music brings is wonderful.
I love this channel with my whole heart. Laura you have such a glow. You’re indeed so happy when you’re planting. Same as I when I’m in the soil planting. Love just watching you build this beautiful space.
My husband noticed that I was always smiling and sometimes laughing hard (when Russell pops out from no where, he’s so adorable) when I watch your videos. And so I told him, well this woman is so incredible, she ‘s just so much into her thing that her happiness is contagious! 🌺🌺🌺🌺😎
Laura can you believe how different this space looks. It was a barren waste land. Nothing but powdery dirt and weeds. And now oh wow it is gorgeous. You’re a genius with a green thumb and well your whole had is green. Beautiful job. Jack Barnwell could learn a thing from you.
Wow everything is just so beautiful, and look at Russell just living his best cat life ever! I like to imagine all my beloved pets that have passed on, go to a beautiful garden heaven just like Laura’s garden. I have been so inspired by your channel. Thank you for sharing with us all your wisdom. I have copied a lot of your methods and tried to make my little yard a beautiful paradise for me and my two dogs. When my family comes over they all complement my efforts thanks to you! Please don’t change a thing about your channel-we all love you and your sweet family!
10:13-13:20 Omg, I love that song by Will Harrison "Back Roads"! 🎵🎶🎸 His music is that _perfect chill laying out in the yard with a glass of ice cold lemonade while watching the kids play_ kind of music.
Don’t get me wrong, I love music, but there’s something about just listening to Laura planting and the sounds of nature that I love. All the plant choices, like always gorgeous 😍. Can’t wait to see planting around the Hartley 😃
Loving the stone path, Aron's lucious green grass and the stunning landscape in the new part of the yard. Always good to see Russell making an appearence and helping in the garden. He always makes me smile.
Your rock pathway is beautiful! Your property is becoming such an oasis of beautiful things that Jack Barnwell will have to come tour your place next season!
Yes it is! When I saw it this morning I remembered thinking about the rockways at Mackinaw . And wondering if there were possibly any kind of moss that could withstood heat! Most likely not..but would ❤ it if there were! Sedum is the only thing that works in S. Or. 105 today..in the shade! Can't wait to see how it looks around the Hartley. I know it will be beautiful..and tie that area into the landscaping around the house!
Do you ever think about adding some landscape lighting? I can only imagine how beautiful the gardens would look at night. Perfect for a moonlight stroll.
You are so lucky to have the access to new and old bulbs and plants. We just moved in our forever home, after living in our past home for 12 years. We were told to leave, they wanted their home back after nobody told us a head of time. I had raised all 4 kids in that home, but now I am trying to arrange and I am needing to buy bulbs here and there. It’s been 1 months since we moved in, But lots of sun here. Ideas? Love your videos!
Russell looks good next to that beautiful rose. He certainly loves you Laura. As we all do. More great additions to your amazing garden. It would be nice just to wander around your gardens. It's so gorgeous and peaceful.💙🌿🌹🌻🌱💕
LOVED the closeups of actually putting plants in holes!!! And the shot through the other plants up close. Well done! Cooler weather I’m sure helps the creative juices. 😆❤️😎
Loved this video because you showed exactly what Laura does when she puts a plant in the ground. The close ups and beautiful framing of most shots made it especially fun to see. Lovely camera work and editing.
Hummingbirds, definitely love cannas, I have on that flowers red, they are all over that plant all day, they won’t even care that I’m right beside them watching,
Russell was competing with that pretty rose for some attention. ❤ So darn cute. The spaces are filling up so beautifully. Absolutely loving the stone pathway...so many gorgeous things!!
Oh, Laura, the south garden is becoming a showplace! Hard to believe it was just barren land a few short years ago. What an incredible space and a great teaching tool. Your casual approach to filling it in is great inspiration for us. 😊💖🦋🕊
Laura, I'm on my way with hot coffee to walk the grounds with you first thing in the morning! Seriously, I think everyone who subscribes and follows your channel would love to tag along! I know I dream of driving over from Seattle for that garden tour you're considering in 3-5 years! Yesterday I finally removed an overgrown and invasive lilac bush planted 20 years ago too close to my house (I've been working to remove the stubborn stump and suckers for two years). Sitting patiently on the sidelines to take the lilac's place is the most gorgeous Fire Light Hydrangea I bought almost 3 years ago after I started watching your channel and learning more about hydrangeas.. I'm thrilled that it is out of the pot and no longer root-bound. It's in its lime-turning-rosy-pink stage and it will be absolutely gorgeous by the end of the month. Today's video is food for my soul. I can't say how much I love your channel. You have elevated the curb appeal of my home because my yard and flower beds have benefited from all the inspiration. Thank you! 😍
You should call your south garden the “miracle mile”. It is becoming such an incredible, beautiful area! I love the lemony lace elderberry, such a sunny color.
Everything looks gorgeous at this time of day! It’s just amazing how much has changed in so short of time. Are you noticing more pollinators overall now that there are plants where there didn’t used to be? I would imagine they must think they’ve gone to flower heaven! 🐝🦋 Thanks for taking us along - glad to see Russell 🐈 got his cuddles in!
I'm in zone 6b, Northern Nevada and have had a Japanese Red Maple in a large pot outside, next to the front of the house, east side, for three years. We get snow in winter, 100 degree days in summer, and brutal winds. So far it has thrived in this protected spot without needing to be moved inside an outbuilding. As a bonus, the Bleeding Heart in the same pot has also survived our tough winters.
What a beautiful video, the plants, your garden, the shots of the sun, the look of happiness on Russell’s face when you pet him, and the music this time was so pretty. Thank you for bringing such beauty and joy to the day!
I actually really love that the music is back. The sound of the drill + auger combo is just not as pleasant and relaxing with my first cup of coffee as a little soft, musical background.
Your plants' beauty is eclipsed by yours, Laura. What a bright spot you bring to my days. Thank you! I learn so much from you in every video. My flower beds here in South Texas thank you! God bless you and your sweet family. Love the photo bomber!
I kinda liked the ASMR style of the section where you planted the maple, Laura. It was so peaceful. No talking, no music, just the sounds of your work.
Love the slowed down pace of this video! It's great to see the close ups of Laura planting and the care and detail she puts into each plant that goes in the garden! The walkways are looking amazing as well as the flagstone path...coming along. Thx for sharing.
There's no cat like an orange cat. We only get orange cats that are almost always male and that are so sweet and friendly. I love seeing Russell and Cheddar in your garden shots.
Credit where it's due, the mix of shrubs, trees and perennials in the border at 20:20 and the other borders afterwards is inspirational and well selected.
Oh how I enjoy those sweeping vista shots of your garden, especially in the early morning light! Videos like this fill me with joy, and I thank you for them🙏🥰
I have to share this...after watching this video, one of the videos "suggested to watch" was one of their old videos from 2017. There had been a huge snowstorm , and they filmed the aftermath of the damage that was caused in town....but after watching that video, a garden tour video was suggested. I highly recommend anyone reading this comment to go search "March Garden Tour" under the 2017 season. I obviously had watched it years ago (it showed I liked it), but OMG had I forgotten some things of how the property looked. Everyone needs to go revisit that tour!! How amazing everything has changed in bloomed in 5 years. 🌱🌲🌳🌾🌿🍃
I have a suggestion for a video. I am a new gardener and I would love your advice on a problem area in my garden. You have so much knowledge and info to share I know you would have the perfect solution to my struggle, if I could only ask you haha I also feel like I would learn so much from hearing other people's problems and listening to your advice Love your videos! So inspirational !
Good evening Laura and family 🌸👪 The new roses are stunning, love your stone path when it's done its going to look wonderful can't wait to see the results 😀 everything is looks great, I'm still a little dehydrated but feeling a little better, I won't be in the sun for over an 1 hour from now, on, dehydration is no fun take it from me. Have a great night,🌙 👋
👋🌞Good Tuesday morning Laura and Aaron! I would LOVE a 59° morning temperature; those are probably still 2 months away, here in Metro-Phoenix....😔🥺 On que, 👋🐈 Good morning Russell! 😻🧡💙 Come on, Laura, you know he MUST get on camera; he's a camera 🐖 😂🤣😂 Russell is so cute, demanding attention from Mama..... That FACE...🤩😂🤣😂 Those 3 colors of Reminiscent Roses are amazing!!!! I. MUST. HAVE ALL. 3!!!! At 25:30 - 😂🤣😂🤣😂 "Preferes higher ph soil - Boom💣💥 Check ✔️, I can give it that!" That container, you picked, for the Metamorphosa Japanese Maple shrub is SPOT ON!!!! So is the location you selected. 👏👏👏Aaron/ Ken, amazing 🎶🎶🎶 selection for planting!!!! Just wonderful!!! I loved seeing the zoomed in shots, highlighting surrounding plants, as Laura was planting the roses! 👋Hi Paul! I saw you walking by, at 25:30, as Laura was potting up the Japanese Maple. Nice to catch a glimpse of you! I suspect that you are camera-shy.🤔 But, I wish you weren't, as it would be fun to have Laura do a Q&A with you, Bethany and Ken. Afterall, you 3 are integral members of the GA family! Don't feel bad, Laura, you just got caught up in the excitement of potting up the Maple, that you forgot about running the drip. We all do it. The entire property is looking so lush, green and gLauraFied!!! You have such a keen eye for what should go where. I KNOW with 💯% certainty that the end results will be SPECTACULAR!!! I will be with you, on your journey, God willing 🙏. Have a Blessed and Beautiful day/night 🌞/🌜 ✨️⭐️🌟⭐️✨️ 🌐 everyone! Kimberley F in Avondale, Arizona USA 🇺🇸 (Zone 9b) 🌞🌵💞
We were all hollering at you Laura about the drip you must not of heard us...... probably the plane noise overhead! LOL Thanks for the content we love how the gardens are coming along. You guys have done alot this year......
Morning all. Nothing like Laura playing in the dirt first thing in the morning. Awwwwe... Precious Russell. He just adores you Laura. Beautiful plants, as always. I love seeing all the plants you have. I have a very small space in zone 4 shade, but I'm always thinking... I wonder if that would work. All so beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed. Always do. xo
I always enjoy and learn from your videos. I’m loving the background music! So chill & relaxing . Would love if a Spotify link is coming soon so I can listen to the Garden Answer soundtrack while working in my yard😉
thank you Laura love your videos, when you talk about your plantings I feel as if I am watching a jewelry show! Today I picked up a gallon Japanese Blood Grass with the heat lately in SO CA lost a few plants and going to see how this works out. May the flowers be with you!
Russell made me smile. We’re adopting a kitten at the end of the week. She was found with 2 siblings and her mum. Can’t wait! Oh and today’s video was gorgeous too.🤗🤗
Good morning y'all and what a gorgeous morning it is!! 😊 Wouldn't it be glorious if the weather would stay at this temperature for a few months?! Wishful thinking, I know, but wishing is good thing. All is looking soo fresh and vibrant this morning. I hope you have a wonderful day 💗 💛 💖.
I like that you are letting the mums just be mums! They are so dependable to return. It's like they don't know they are not the most beautiful flower in the garden!!!
It’s been SUCH a FABULOUS summer Laura SO much has been accomplished. If I have ANY complaint it is that it has gone by WAY too quickly. I have lost a lot of plants this year as wood chucks returned into the area after many many years absence. I will have to elevate all my annuals, and put roses in pots going forward. They are uninterested in coral bells, thank Heaven! And show no desire to eat arborvitae or boxwood. We do what we must do….
Liked these plants... really really loved the music. I saved it to listen to later. You always have good background tunes . Thanks again for another added benefit along with your wonderful cats and family to watching Garden Answer.
Hiya Laura and Aaron. The transformation of the south garden is stunning, incredible, remarkable and beautiful. You accomplished in 1 year what would take most people 5+ years to get there. Thanks so much for being my motivation and inspiration. Kudos to you both.
I always am excited to see these plants find a home in your beautiful space. Those roses will work in my small garden fingers crossed ill find a few next year. Your garden scape has come so far with all your hard work and design! Starting my day in your garden is such a delight to wake to every morning!
I don’t know about anyone else but, oh my goodness, this video shows just how much your property has evolved in one year!!! Last year soooo blank. As always thanks for sharing.
I grow many small Japanese maples in small pots near Boston , zone 6. I winter it over in an unheated garage. One lesson I learned is they hate wet feet. Sometimes the drainage hole gets blocked when you set the pot on soil or mulch. I recommend that you either put feet risers or a piece of slate under the pot.
I think we need another tour!! Can't believe how beautiful everything is looking when you show us and in the background. It is so exciting watching it blossom - I get the same feeling when watching your garden as I do when I watch my tiny 1mx3m garden!! Thank you so much for sharing with us, it so feeds my soul.
that south garden, WOW! it is coming along beautifully, and Aaron! good call on those grass pathways... they are just an emerald road through the gardens... love them! everything looks so lush and pretty!! and 59??? i'm jealous!! we're still boiling down here in socal and i am missing my gardening time! hopefully we start seeing a little cooler temps soon... what a beautiful video this was in that early morning light, too... 🥰❤ thanks for the video!! 🥰❤
LOVE seeing how individual areas are beginning to connect as you add more plants. BOTH looks are beautiful, but I really like seeing them become connected. The work you and Aaron are doing is magnificent, and so inspiring for all of us.
I love all the planting parts, but something about this music just got me today. Almost sounds like a Keith Urban song.....my absolute favorite. 🥰 Well the first song.
Russell's appearance when the gator is full makes me sing "in the jungle, the mighty jungle"! He makes me smile. These plants are stunning!
We must be singing together. I do the same. Haha
Too funny. An orange cat started hanging around our yard last year that has adopted us lol, my mom named him yardley, i have a section of just hostas and he hangs out in there and i sing it when he's hanging out in them lol

I absolutely adore Russell! He just makes me smile every time he climbs into your videos. Have a wonderful day!
DITTO!!!
To be honest, I kept looking for some kind, any kind of animal in the Michigan tours. I am SO happy to see Russell again.
Realize, he's campaigning for 'The Russell Rose'...!
Russell's sweet face when you're admiring the beautiful color of the rose. Russell says, "Look at my beautiful face!". 🐈😹
Laura, just love ,love love that Russell. He always manages to get in the video. I am sure all the cat lovers out there enjoy seeing him as much as I do❤

Russell is too sweet for his own good.💞💞💞
I absolutely love when there is no music. It’s just so nice and peaceful to listen to the wind rustling in the leaves, the water running in the fountsins and all the natural sounds. Don’t get me wrong, I love music but the calmness the no-music brings is wonderful.

Omg Russell “resident orange accent” is camera ready and on point today. 🧡🧡🧡
Haha Russell's appearance in the back of the gator right on cue was perfect. I love that he always pops in there.
I mute the music ...
Turn the volume down until you see her talking. I like the music.
As I am losing my hearing, I like when there's no music......unless she's just planting. But if she's talking, can't hear very well.
I think Aaron said that if you listen to them on Facebook they don't add the music.
Same I love the sounds of the day it’s soothing to me as well
Loving the stone path, Aron's lucious green grass and the stunning landscape in the new part of the yard.
Always good to see Russell making an appearence and helping in the garden.
He always makes me smile.
I much prefer the golden light of these morning videos. Everything just looks more magical.
Russel is so cute! 😻 I hope he lives forever.
I always love It when Russel shows up in your videos 😻

Your neighbors must feel blessed to have you as neighbors with your beautiful landscaping that they get to take in daily.

Your stone path is stellar looking!!! Russel steals attention anytime he's in view. As always everything else is GORGEOUS!!!
Thank you so much for the close-up planting! This old gardener learned a new trick!
You are so lucky to have the access to new and old bulbs and plants. We just moved in our forever home, after living in our past home for 12 years. I love the stone walking path! Everything is filling in so beautifully. 💜

Enjoyed the plantings especially the new rose. Loved the choice of music while you planted; and, of course, Russell's usual "photo bombing." Lol

Good Morning! 🌞🌻 Love Russell's appearance! I am starting my plant list for 2023! Love all these plants you featured in this video! 😍💚🌿
Russell made me smile. We’re adopting a kitten at the end of the week. She was found with 2 siblings and her mum. Can’t wait! Oh and today’s video was gorgeous too.🤗🤗
Wow, this space is a testament to all your vision and hard work. Bravo!
@Pamela Stokes ~ Thank you! 😊 Good morning and wishing a wonderful day to you also!
I like that you are letting the mums just be mums! They are so dependable to return. It's like they don't know they are not the most beautiful flower in the garden!!!
the gardens are so beautiful like you
Thank you for the close-up of putting the plants in the holes. The island of annuals is a beautiful spot.
I always like the video when I see russel
Especially lovely filming today. That morning light is so stunning. Wonderful video as always. 🐈
Liked these plants... really really loved the music. I saved it to listen to later. You always have good background tunes . Thanks again for another added benefit along with your wonderful cats and family to watching Garden Answer.
Lol Russell is just the best! He always seems to know when you are filming lol
Good morning from Ontario Canada! Best part of my morning is coffee, snuggling my pup and watching Garden Answer.
I don’t know about anyone else but, oh my goodness, this video shows just how much your property has evolved in one year!!! Last year soooo blank. As always thanks for sharing.
I continue to be inspired by each of your videos, Laura. You and Aaron are certainly where you belong in this world. Thank you so much!
I Liked watching the planting and tucking in the soil around the plants.
I just love how Russel follows you around! He is so cute. 😻 I love you always and all of your beautiful videos.
I love Russell. Reminds me of my well missed Samson. I love orange male cats, I think they have so much personality.
I respect and love what you doing God bless you ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏
The elderberry garden was one of my favorites!! So glad to see them back in the garden! It's all looking gorgeous as always.
I just love the ornamental grass with the mums!
that south garden, WOW! it is coming along beautifully, and Aaron! good call on those grass pathways... they are just an emerald road through the gardens... love them! everything looks so lush and pretty!! and 59??? i'm jealous!! we're still boiling down here in socal and i am missing my gardening time! hopefully we start seeing a little cooler temps soon... what a beautiful video this was in that early morning light, too... 🥰❤ thanks for the video!! 🥰❤
Aaron is always correct and we respect him for the big areas of grass and how chill they look!
LOVE seeing how individual areas are beginning to connect as you add more plants. BOTH looks are beautiful, but I really like seeing them become connected. The work you and Aaron are doing is magnificent, and so inspiring for all of us.
Wow! That’s a lot of planting but oh so beautiful! I love the maple in the pot!
Finally raining this morning in CT. I can watch you and enjoy the sounds of the rain before I go out in it to empty scorched pots. 😊
I love all the planting parts, but something about this music just got me today. Almost sounds like a Keith Urban song.....my absolute favorite. 🥰 Well the first song.
Thank you Laura for your expert inspiration ongoing. And, Aaron, the unexpected, "Imagine" video insert was fun. Your grass looks glorious:)
