3:30 Wow that section has no guard rails (in the middle of the tracks to prevent derailing trains to leave the right of way. Though maybe that's not necessary because the tracks are mounted on the raised concrete) and it doesn't have any fencing either. Don't think I've seen anything like it anywhere in the world.
I’m not too familiar with how this technology works but I believe it’s up to metro, so it’s optional, I’ve commonly seen no guardrails on the bridges - at least on short spans, since it’s not a common place for train emergencies (if there is one I believe the train evacuates into the center area between the two tracks, with both shutting down of course) Hope this helps thanks for watching!
they were constructed with the platform extensions in mind, they did the same thing with the blue line 20ish years ago, as an example see at 7:45 the bridge and canopy structure (plus the tracks are striaght to keep accesible boarding) extend past the existing end. all they need to do is basically install it, it shouldnt cause many delays/closures unlike the wiring replacements done recently along that stretch
LA Metro already has the funding to extend the platforms for those 4 stations that are now part of the K line. However, it's still not clear to me when they will start work on them. The smart thing to do would be to work on all 4 at the same time so they are all completed together and it would take less time. If needed, they could setup a frequent bus line that would stop at the new century aviation station and cover the distance of those 4 stations until they get finished.
All that viaduct is because the green line was designed to be automated and driverless. The unions protested, so it's now driven, but putting in the LAX junction was a good idea. Too bad it's not a heavy rail extension to the Sepulveda line, though, which was the original plan.
Oh dang I didn’t know that! Makes sense since there are no at-grade crossings, wish they invested in some automatic train control, maybe with the operator still present for more efficient smoother accelerations. Thanks for watching!

LA metro bus services has changed today! For example, 96 has renumbered to 296 and now terminated at Lincoln/cypress for easy access to A line!
I'll have to check that out! I'm interested in seeing what else has changed. Thanks for letting me know!
New ride
Yes I hope you enjoyed, thanks for watching!
Is the K line new means?
Yes this is part of the new K line alignment through LAX!
Is it possible to extend the stations (south of the 105) without major construction? would just removing the platform fencing allow for three cars?
