I have a little over 5 years sober. At about 3 years, I was not attending meetings, didn’t have a sponsor, and had a conscious separation from God. I ended up listening to this and it completely changed my life. The way Adam compares alcohol to god and the spiritual technology this program of action does for a person completely changed my perception. This share lit a fire in me and I still come back to listen to it to get spiritually fed. It’s funny how when I listen to this I laugh at the bad things (what many of us did in our disease) and cry at the good things (the spiritual awakening he talks about). Beautiful share. Thank you Adam T for carrying a profound message.

My suicide attempt on March 16th, 2004 saved my life by ending my 27 year drinking career. You people in AA loved me until I could love myself. I only recently discovered that TH-cam has AA speakers. I no longer have to lament the loss of open speaker mtgs. Now a TH-cam speaker mtg is a part of my morning metitations and my evening prayers. Thank you Odomtology Recovery Media for your service to us drunks. Thank you Adam T for your qualification.

Thank you for sharing this…I was suicidal over the holidays. I was alone, drinking and drugging. The only think I could think of was to go to a meeting. On day 4 of sobriety and I thank my HP I am still alive. I’m also thankful for the gift of desperation.

He’s stringing together one cliché after another after another. Sure I’ve chuckled a couple of times. I’d rather hear him share, from an intimate perspective, what he was like, what happened and what he’s like now.
But that’s me. That’s what’s worked for me since 08.09.86.

Over the last couple weeks I’ve listened to 20-30 testimonies. This one spoke to me the most. He didn’t tell much of his story, but told much of how it all works. It snapped things into view. Funny, yet poignant. God bless this man and his sobriety. I’ll listen to this message many more times I think.

I'm going to my first meeting tomorrow. I had to ask my mother to come with me because I don't feel confident making a promise to myself to do it and sticking to it. I need to count my blessings more often because I am so blessed to have a loving supportive family behind me. I don't know where I'd be without them. Thanks for this talk, wish me luck. And good luck to anyone else on the path.

Hi I'm almost 3 years sober, I got on here not to long ago saying I was over two year and I still think about drinking every day and would there every be a point that I could go just one day without thinking of it. I had an overwhelming amount of support from people on here and I would just like to say thank you. I have had days where I had not thought about drinking. If your reading this thank you. Also if your reading this and in a hard place keep fighting there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Used it and went to AA. CBT is great, but for me it wasn't everything I needed. But it is a great component. I'm glad this speaker brings it up.

Dui's I look back now and am so thankful that I never hurt or killed someone when I was drunk. Its nothing to be proud of but I had 15 dui's. mine were all in the 60's and 70's. I'm not positive about 15 but positive about 12 as I got out of some of them plus not even counting about 7 times or so they let me go. In 1967 I got my first the last was about 1974. Good lawyers kept me out of jail but it took my whole paycheck for 2 years. If this happen in now times I would be in prison for 20 years. In Aug of 1985 I quit drinking. I'm now 76 and don't expect to ever drink again. Please Dallas don't drink anymore.
