Jokes aside, this song - its intro especially - really does give you a sense of what this thing is: a nightmarish, rampaging abomination of flesh, bone, shadowflame, and Titanium. It's described as a mindless bulwark of rage and agony that has only one single goal programmed into it: kill *anything* that it encounters, and it's so good at doing so that it can apparently wage a literal WAR all by itself.
Consider the fact that your average 'human' in Terraria is basically a brand new character, with 100 HP, 0 defense, and no armaments or accessories. Maybe some of them have decent weapons, early game armor, some extra HP or mana, etc.. This thing would still effortlessly slaughter HUNDREDS of players before it took any significant damage.
Kind of puts into perspective how terrifying this thing would be to really fight, huh? A house-sized fortress made of writhing corpses and creaking metal and bone, easily able to launch itself over a skyscraper or across a football field if you piss it off. It can launch harpoons the size of minivans at you, pump out blasts of literal hellfire with all the force of a Saturn V rocket, conjure stone pillars as tall as redwood trees out of the earth anywhere around it, and if by some miracle you chip a piece off, said piece is animated by necromancy and becomes an autonomous drone that rains death from the skies. It shrugs off high explosives and machine gun fire, and based off how little damage rockets do to it, it's likely that even nukes won't put it down. Poison doesn't bother it because it's already dead, and no blunt force on Earth can traumatize it. You need literal divine weaponry or cosmic technology to really hurt it, and good luck pulling that off when it goes apeshit and Zerg rushes any living thing it sees the instant it senses them.
And it's best known as the 'heehoo funny despawn boss.' Ravager deserves better.

Well, it was created as a last effort to combat Yharim's forces, so I guess it should feel rage towards anyone nearing his level of power.
It was built as a last effort out of rotting and dead corpses, with only one order, kill anything that may stand in its way.

If you're wondering why ravager is essentially a fleshy version of the double chest from Minecraft, look at the old sprites, it originally was a stronger version of a jungle mimic.

at first it sounds brutal, fitting for the literal meat golem, but then it transitions into more... heroic theme?
kind of because (up to now lore ) yharim became injust despairful of its oppositors so as he once was a hero now a villain it was like the last resort to a never ending slaughter so technically it would turn that thing into a hero because besides being an angry flesh and rock mees it was a weapon to kill a bad guy so yeah technically the song tries to reflect that part of the lore on its theme
Probably one of the coolest, but challenging post Plantera boss fights in the mod the first time you face it.
I personally found it pretty easy. There wasn’t much that he could do when I just kept my distance
Now that’s I’ve played the mod a few times, I’ve gotten familiar with fighting Ravager. He was difficult the first few times in my opinion.

I enjoy this boss theme. It sounds so imposing, dramatic, climatic even. Now regularly, this fight is kinda eh. However, I played it on the recent Infernum mode and holy mother of bakery, the fight and the song were actually great together.
Ravager ain't too special, but the Fortress of Flesh is one of many on a list of great Calamity additions.
What does the fortress of flesh do?
@@beesechurger2540 It now has dark flame projectiles it shoots when it jumps, inflicting a unique burn debuff that lowers your defense. The weak petrification debuff lasts the whole fights. It sends a fleshy spike shockwave after a jump that goes on for a while. It can even summon pillars of dark flames that are pretty wide in phase 2 after all the parts are broken. Also in phase two, the rock pillars are summoned horizontally and vertically around you and you got to dash out of the way. The fight actually kept me on my toes when I first reached it.

@@froginabucket7294 You don't have to fight Ravenger. However, what it drops is very handy. Depending on your progress, you can get a small or big load of Cryonic, Perennial, and Scoria bars, Life Alloy, and the Cores of Sunlight, Chaos, and Eleum. On top of that, it even drops the Flesh Totem and Blood Pact, which are two accessories that vastly increase your HP, increases the HP gained from Health Potions, and reduced Contact Damage by a ton.
Otherwise, your off to Astrum Deus.
Damn, this track is metal af. It desperately needs a proper cover that replaces those lead synths and backing strings with guitars.
