Dang you weren’t kidding, I was able to set a new one by hand this morning when I forgot I forgot my rope. Thanks for the tips! Keep up the great videos!
Shoot, I was trying to figure out how to set the brand new traps I got, without having the tool for it. After watching this video I got it first try. This method is stupid easy.
You forgot 1 more thing though: at the end when you have it fully ready and set up you have to take the latches (hooks) of the handles in order for it to snap very hard and trap the animal. If you leave the hooks on it will just hit, but not as hard and it won't keep the animal snagged.
@@330Maniac lol yes indeed and the 110 is the smallest to the 330 which is the biggest, also they make the 110, 220, and 330 mag (magnum) and those are a little bigger than their regular sizes. Plus they got the mag in other numbers such as 160, 230, or 280. And recently they have introduced the 660 which is 2 330s combined and built together to be the biggest conibear trap so far!
I have a question I just set up a large creek for beaver. It has tons of fresh sign a dam, feedbed, and lots of slides. It has been 2 days since I set it up and no catches no tripped traps. The active sign has stopped all my sets are on slides in the water. They haven't been trapped here before. What would your take on this situation be? I haven't went down the creek to look for more sign it's off the property.
I would kick a small hole in the dam , beavers hate the sound of running water. Put a drowning rod or line in it. I have caught hundreds of beavers using this method.
Personally,,,, I would have loved to see you take the safety's off,,,,, before or after you set it up in the water? & then fire that trap with a stick! ;>)
@@330Maniac Stand up and set it with your hands. If you are standing in water up to your Ass what are you going to set your Trap on? It's not as tough as it sounds. Do you want me to tell you how to do it? I am not a great big burly man.
David Perrin I always have set mine this way but the majority of trappers cannot set trap this way. Ive been asked multiple times for a video like this
Just fast, sweet and simple video. Perfect.

I have a hard time setting 160s by hand. Wow you made that look easy good job.
LOL !! I must B gettn old,,, 110s give me a hard time ..👍..
I used to set them like that 40 years ago too. Now I use the setter almost all the time. The occasional one I'll still set by hand.
The problem is I have very bad arthritis so my hand don't get it.Have to use setters.thanks for the video
you made that look very easy!
I'm thinking there's not a lot of guys out there that can do that..
I'm willing to bet you're pretty strong dude

So I just bought 2 of these 330s never used steel traps before and you set yours by hand faster then I set mine with the steel tongs
Yup that was easy, much the same way I used to do mine however I did make a trap setter and find that much easier esp for us ole fellers ahah.chers
I appreciate you making this video it is informative on how i should set my traps
Love your videos. Thanks for everything you teach us
Always make sure gravity is holding the dogs down too, you don’t want the open side of those hooks facing up.
Thanks for the tip, great videos.👍
Wow you made that look easy I'm about to try it lol. Which notch do you use from the inside out 1st 2nd or 3rd?
Is there any simple but powerful trap for otter
220 conibear
@@330Maniac how to built these traps? Making vedio like that
Thanks for the advice now I no how to set one 👍👍👍

Oh don't worry when I actually set them on video When I'm trapping I say that about a 100 times

It's actually one 330 that is cut and longer bars are added in between the springs to get the width that you see.
@@330Maniac interesting 🤔 i will have to look into that.
Yes do that, I've built a few at my shop, they are pretty easy to convert with the right tools
You make it look easy!!! Thanks
nice job. say what you will but I tote a small cordless drill to run a lead screw device I made.
There is nothing wrong with using any type of setters at all. I'm sure I will be using one as well 1 of these years
Thanks always wonder how it was done

be persistant. sounds like they are still around

I always take them off before setting in the water
Very good. Thanks.
Would you recommend a mb550 for beaver?
Bill Fraley no I wouldn't. It's a great coyote and fox trap But not quite big enough for a beaver MB750 is the ticket Or another like sized trap
330 MaNiaC ok thx and have great trapping season
Make sure your state allow you to use one if you go with the MB 750 each state has different laws , regulations , trap set up , so on and so forth...
I’m 13 and I was able to get it once.. just a gotta be smarter than the trap I suppose.
Hats off to you
That's it.
When you're in the water, with a beaver in the trap, it's not quite that easy! But yes, it can be done with experience and power on your side..
Michael Smith Toure right about that! In the water they can be a pain!
I don’t do squat to my traps except set them.
Thought you were setting it by hand, stand up and set it with your hands. LOL
If I'm setting it with my hands and no tools then.... it's by hand 🤘🤣

Contents under pressure oh man!
Cool thanks.
It's all done with mirrors......or I'm a pussy.
Have you ever been hurt by a trap?
badboybootz8 fractured my leg ans broke some fingers. That was about 20 years ago
330 MaNiaC Jesus christ man lol stay safe out there. Love the vids!
Looks like horns buried in the mud at the start of the video
I didn’t think you could do it
It's pretty easy with the right leverage!
Thanks
Well, I'm more confused now.
Thats the same way I set all my conibears. New or old.

to bad we can't see what you are doing
What? Lol are your eyes closed?
