thats how I got started in trapping 43 years ago ! got my dad to drive me ALL over all the farm countryback roads with 24 -110 conibear traps and submarine cages , I cleaned house that year !
Yes absolutely i would add one if it was more open above the trap, generally when swimming through a culvert beaver and otter swim close to the bottom, that's whybi didn't add one
Is there any chance to set up both ends of the culvert as otters often travel on pares or even in families You really need to invest in a trap setters ,as you will cripple up long before your time .
Every year I watch you set those 330’s by hand and every year I go out thinking I can set ‘em by hand…but never can, I always need a setter. Nice job! Otter puppetry was a bit odd pure fodder for the antis..(IMO)..
Now remember boys and girls when trapping rhinos and pterodactyls in Minnesota, always where the proper safety gear and keep one ear to the ground and an eye on the sky. Safety first. Nice catches. Cool find also👍👍
Culvert sets are the best
Awesome setup. Beautiful Otters and Beaver 🦫
Culverts with a coni are my bread and butter for otter.

Thats a great set! Thank you for sharing my friend!
Atta Boy! My standard post. Not gonna lie…. her hanging onto that otter like that was a little weird for me…
Great job Scott! You make setting those 330's by hand very easy lol. Gotta use my setters. Curious, how did you anchor that trap? Cheers
There was a piece of pvc conduit stabbed into the bank near by, I used that
Nice set 330Maniac
I see this set is very effective but would like to know if you would consider adding a dive stick to deter any attempting to climb over it?

Yes absolutely
Would a 280 do as well for otter?
Absolutely, I'd recommend the biggest trap just to cover the opening better
A 280 is specifically made for otter so yes it will work in smaller openings.

Needs to get CB trap setting tools.
No, just another tool for me to lose on the line lol. One day I will get a setting tool though

Nice set! So you were using the sticks to "sandwich " the 330 to the edge of the culvert?
👍
Mmm……delicious otter.
Probably your trap you forgot about 😂😂
