- Today is the end of an era... We bought up all the old stock of the HD25 Aluminium components from sennheiser when they were discontinued so we could continue to make them and have been doing so for several years. But... this is the last set of parts we have meaning this is probably the last set ever to be made.... Join me on an emotional farewell to the mighty HD25 Aluminium

I love the original hinges, You should try to make a v2 version of the ones you already have, to look more like the real ones. Because the cups are perfect.
Our earcups are a different shape from the original ones .. more rounded. I don't really like the hinges on the originals and don't want sennheiser to accuse us of copying their design so no, sorry, we won't make hinges the same as on the 25th anniversary edition. We may re-design them in the future but they will be another design

We will eventually get more silver in stock but it won't be for a month or so
About 4 years ago I bought a pair of these off eBay, mint still in the box for £100 (buy it now!)
I knew I got a bargain but didn't really appreciate how special and rare these were until now.
Absolutely love them. Sound awesome paired up with an ifi Hip Dac amp.
I sit on the tube looking at people with their bluetooth airpods on thinking "you have no idea what this sounds like".
That was an absolute bargain I remember, back in the day, they used to cost us a lot more than that even though we were buying them in bulk.
I have two of them at home, so when one breaks, probably never but still, I'll have a back up waiting in its box.

Wow they are so cool! Can you please make a review of the sound and compere them with a standard plastic cups?
Yes - I have ordered another pair so I can do a side by side test but have to wait for them to arrive from china

Ah, so there's a custom hinge washer! That explains why the swinging arm had absolutely no tension when I tried putting the aluminum capsules and hinges from my Amperiors onto some white HD 25 APAC's that I recently bought.
Yep. you can put a shim made from thin card or something behind the standard washer to thicken it up

Wunderbar 😉 One question, whats the foam callled which you are using at the beginning?
They have black foam fitted from the factory - we replace it with bitumen type sound deadening material similar to what is used on cars to soundproof them

What cable are you using exactly? I can only find a copper cable made by Oyaide for the HD25, not a silver plated copper one. Maybe the silver plated version is called V2 and has been discontinued?
On the Oyaide ones, the silver coloured cable is silver plated - the other colours are plain copper. The silver one have a clear cover and silver plated copper wire to give it the silver colour. At least that is how it is on the ones we have ( which are quite old onw )
These are amazing, what was the retail price of these cups?
They were around £100 a pair for the aluminium parts
