    This is awesome - a different mod to smooth that treble peak! Thanks for more sweet content👌🏻Tempted to get a second, used pair to experiment... 🤔

    Thank you so much for the video, and the measurements. I have my hd 25 lights coming in this week, and I only ordered them for this mod. Been wanting to do it for a few months now and recently found a good deal on a used pair. I will be trying some black HD410 and yellow HD414 foam pads on them (if they fit). I really like the look of vintage sennheiser headphones (like HD410SL), so I’m hoping this works out. Would be cool to get some measurements with foam pads too. Thanks!

      If I get round to doing an update on these U will include those measurements

    Looking at the graph, it reminded me of my 3 pieces closed back guitar amp cabinet response when I leave it open: relaxed mids and highs.
    What surprised me was that the graph reading with the velours pads showed even more bass information than the original with the earcups in, as well as bringing back some of the mid content.
    Willing to see you checking those beyer dinamics pads video. Let´s call it Frankennheiser HD25 XD
    Good job!

      The graphs are normalised at 300HZ - we actually had to turn up the volume a bit to get it to match the volume of leather pads... SO... the bass probably stayed the same and everything else dropped

    You could use that shiny new 3D printer to make your adapters :)

    this is so cool
    happened across yr channel looking into beyerdynamics recommended by a friend
    but i’m rly looking for a cheap ish flattish decentish-sounding, VERY OPEN headphone
    and this might be what i wind up doing
    i wanna wear them while i’m on calls on my pc and still be able to hear the room around me (it’s a private room so i don’t have to worry abt sound bleed from my headphones into the room either so open back is ideal)

    Would definitely be really interested in those over-ear pad adapters, I would certainly want to experiment open-back with a set myself. I don’t know why this hasn’t been a thing before! Very curious.

      Our 3D printer has been tied up for the past few weeks with other projects but I will get round to designing them soon

    Very cool and geeky video. Again - compensation on the target curve you have in your software makes frequency response looking a bit misleading. For instance, it looks as there is a severe bass roll-off, which is not the case in reality of course.

    • @CustomCans
      @CustomCans  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know... if you look up HD25 frequency plots most seem to start to roll off under 100hz but the scale on the graph used does not start at zero db so it makes the dips and peaks look more pronounced

    • @diudiamoustache7765
      @diudiamoustache7765 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CustomCans Sure it's great to see that graph doesn't start from zero! I meant that your software contains some kind of target curve and the measurement we see is not a raw measurement, but the one that's compensated accordingly to that target. I understand that your goal is to see the change in sound, not to perform a precise measurement. And this stand is not targeted to make precise measurements, which is fine. But not seeing nor target curve to which measurement was compensated, not an initial raw measurement doesn't make things easier ). Take a look at the data on the graphs through the link below - there are both raw and target measurements presented, which is giving a picture of frequency response, that's much closer to what you really hear and that's easy to read. crinacle.com/graphs/headphones/sennheiser-hd25/

    • @CustomCans
      @CustomCans  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a fare point and frequency plots don't really help show how they sound under normal use. I know things like waterfall charts and things give a bit more of a feel for how they respond but don't look good on screen. I will try to upload the raw data for people to download and play with in future

    wondering what the 25 drivers would be like in a set of grados ? what drivers did they put in the HD250bt ?

    • @CustomCans
      @CustomCans  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not checked out the 250bt yet but do plan on getting some in at some point. HD25 drivers would be tricky to fit in some grados - HD280 drivers would probably be a better fit but I have no idea how it would sound
