    Wonderful Iain. You make an excellent riverside companion. Our season started today but water levels low in many rivers and only time will tell. When I'm not fishing with my buddies I'll be fishing with you so please keep 'em coming!

      I think that the rest of the world misses out on friendships that are gathered by us anglers Stevie. I have met so many genuine and great friends over the years. we are truly fortunate
      Cheers Iain. 🥃

      There are some beats that are seeng a lot of fish going through James and this year they seem to have their heads down while they travel Cheers Iain. 🥃

    Was glad to hear you mention a fast sink tip, I fished Thursday and Friday intermediate line no results. Put on a 3ft lead core tip with 4ft leader and a plastic tube. Had a 12lb and a 10lb which goes to show you have to get down. Enjoyed the video Ian and keep them coming. By the way you seem to like those boiled eggs 😂

      Can't beat a boiled egg on a fishing trip to keep the hunger pangs away until lunch time Paddy. Well done on your catch . I still don't think that I was fishing deep enough as the pool is very deep. the problem is when the fly comes round there is a ledge that snags the fly . if it wasn't so bright there may have been a chance of a fish coming from the depths Cheers Iain 🥃

    Always loved the sands at Ballathie but to be honest potshot and cradle are equally as productive for me. My dad back in the 80s fished ballathie for a few weeks every year and routinely caught 7 to 10 fish a day on the old red dye shrimp. Hoping to get a day on the Tay next Month. Tight lines!

      It had been about 20 years since I fished at Ballathie and from memory I think I blanked that day. The following day the anglers had a great big tub of worms and caught lots. That's Fishing. Tight Lines on your trip to the Tay. Cheers Iain. 🥃

      Hi again Tommy I haven't fished on that part of the Tay for a lot of years I enjoyed it for a while but it was a bit boring walking up and down that bit concrete. there must have been salmon going past as there were fresh fish caught 2 miles upstream.
      Cheers Iain. 🥃

    Excellent and enjoyable video as always Iain. Unlucky there were no fish around.

    • @IainSB

      there were a couple of fresh ones caught at Islamouth and they must have gone past without stopping . the water was that high they could slip past without even showing Cheers Iain. 🥃

      Thanks Colin I was a bit worried that it looked a bit repetitive . The weather suited sun bathing more than fishing. I couldn't add all the banter in the hut at lunch time but as usual it gave inspiration to get out and brave the wether ........... with a bit of factor 30 Cheers Iain 🥃

      It was just a wee bit to high the fish seemed to be stopping about a mile upstream as you say it was a nice bit of water to fish and ill look forward to having a cast with Peter in the future
      Cheers Iain. 🥃

    Just goes to show sometimes that the best looking water doesn't necessarily have the fish! But as you rightly say 'that's fishing' The concrete looked good though😂😂🍺

      over the years that pull has been very productive Mr Mazo .....Just a case of right place wrong time . Got to keep trying and enjoying Cheers Iain. 🥃

      I fished on the same piece of concrete about Thirty years ago Burnie with the same result. on that occasion I saw plenty of fish going past. remembering these days gives us the encouragement to keep casting. Cheers Iain. 🥃

    Great looking water and a good effort Iain. I have a feeling the fish that do come in, are coming a bit later in the season so hope for better luck soon. Maybe a flying c or a sunray shadow next time. Is dochfour an option?? They seem to get quite a few fish there, maybe being close to the sea!!Cheers Peter.

      I have had a look at the Ness Peter but never got around to a having a visit. I have been to the May show on several occasions and never had the time to have a look at the river. Maybe sometime in the future Cheers Iain. 🥃

    You want a submarine drone Iain. If there's no salmon about go for the brownies. They're good eating in low, clear water in the summer. Golf? lol That's never happening.

    • @IainSB
      @IainSB  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe that there are such things as a submersible drone James I think that it would still be a problem for me as I could quite easily crash into things below the surface. this year is the is the first that I have carried a small trout rod in the boot but have hardly seen any trout rising I may give it a bash at sometime (not the golf thing). Cheers Iain. 🥃

      @IainSB  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have fished there before James and it was a long time ago and saw a lot of fish without doing any catching. its all about right place at the write time. I am really fortunate as my mate Peter allowed me to fish on his time share week for these two days
