Watched many tutorials over the years, but this is probably my favourite. It's made me appreciate the mixer in Logic much more and i'll be doing things this way from now on (as opposed to the longer way round i was using beforehand). Also obviously a big help with using the 808 within Logic. Very simple, easy to follow and eye-opening. Thank you.
great tutorial! You really covered everything I wanted to know! also, that cowbell just makes me think of Whitney's "I want to dance with somebody" x))
Thanks Risa. Did you know that using the Mute and Solo buttons in the 808 lets you filter what notes or sounds are dragged over? If someone does not have a DAW the splits tracks by pitch, it is a quick way to get isolated drum(s). It also makes for some pretty interesting layering and sequencing options. Thanks again.
Hi Yes it should be as Roland created the 808 and created the sounds - everything else is a re sample so technically will have a different or possibly inferior sound👍🏽
@@wadewilliams1892 True. The sound has much more details, nuances and depth. You can also tweak the tone of the sounds in a way that is impossible with samples.
Thanks for sharing this tutorial. I was able to easily follow along in my LPX. This feature and technique really expands my opportunities for original sound creation.
thank you for the video. After the mapping multi instruments into separate tracks the instrument track level does not act as a master volume. Do I have to create a group track / bus to control level of all the TR 808 tracks or I missed something?
But then when you want to add a new pattern, do you have to separate by note pitch again and then move the MIDI regions and then dele the unused tracks, each time??????
Great video - in theory this should work for my Akai drum machine also - I have wanted a comprehensive way of doing this for the last year !!!! Midi is incredible and fascinating - thanks Dave Smith
i would love to know how to do this in ableton i have figured out how to record each instrument into an audio channel but i'd love to have control over the midi??
I'm switching to LPX after years of working in Ableton Live. I'm impressed with all the extra features in LPX, and I've never needed live performance features in my DAW. There's been a bit of a learning curve, or should I say re-learning. But after a couple of quick compositions in LPX, I started building out a template. Just last night I added the TR-808 to my template, along with the aux routing, so it's funny to see this published today. One thing, at 8:54 you can save yourself extra mouse clicks by tabbing between tracks while renaming them. Cheers~
Hey. Can you explain how to build longer patterns? Or how is it that some of the default patterns have playback that loops several patterns at a time? Thanks for this vid btw!
ya but why dont you tell us how to use the instruments. does it only work with a daw? im trying to open up a synth stand alone in roland cloud manager...
Thank you for this tutorial , very helpful! I only have an issue when copying sequence A to B, i am not able to hear the added instruments on playback when B is selected! not sure if i am doing something wrong. if any any ideas would be great!
They have done this, finally. They added lifetime keys for almost everything. The TR-808 is $149 (see lifetime keys at www.rolandcloud.com/roland-account/memberships/ and scroll down to virtual instruments)
great tutorial, just what I was looking for, ty!
Thanks for watching.

Thank you, great tutorial !
Thanks for watching, Cedric.
Love this tutorial, thanks Risa!
This is great. Fast pace and useful for troubleshooting. That little 'unlock from daw' tick is so important!
Thank you for this great video! So helpful.
Thanks for commenting, Joe.

Excellent tutorial ! Easy to follow ! Subscribed !
Pro stuff !
ありがとう ございます. 🙏 とてもたすかりました。🙇♂️
I compared Roland Cloud TR-808 to NI Battery 4 samples of 808 and Ableton Live samples of 808.
Roland Cloud is on another level.

OMG this "Hi Tom" at 8:53 should have been followed by a looped "ohh Hi Mark"....anyway, back to the tutorial now
Thank you for putting this together. Really informative.
Very clear and accurate explanations. Thank you for the tip.

Does this Roland cloud plugin sound better than the existing 808 sounds in Ultrabeat ?
Does the hardware 808 sound better than the plugins?
Great tutorial. Thank you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Excellent. Not only does this tutorial demonstrate how to use the plug-in, it also demonstrates the functions of Logic Pro. Thank you.

The best tutorial!! Thanks for this Risa :)!!

How does this MultiOut work in FL Studio ?

very good video thanks
What about shuffle, how to use it?
But how do you adjust the Bpm rate (tempo) of the Tr 808???
Hey i can't drag my midi on my channel track. Any help?
Amazing Video Risa. I love your videos. You are awesome! Please make more videos! Hugs 😀
Needs more cowbell. :P
Very interesting! Can this be done on Cubase?
Yes
After dropping drums as a midi it doesnt play the notes
****Noob Alert**** How do I do this in Ableton? When I drag and drop the clip goes super fast with no sound.
Cloudz808
why am i watching this? i dont have roland cloud and i dont have logic. regardless, i enjoyed the tutorial.
Great video - you made some of the concepts I was struggling with so easy to understand!
Roland Cloud should diviate from there subscription model and offer a perpetual model instead
If you sign up (i think for like a year?) you do get to permanently keep two plugins.

Risa or... Lisa?! ;)
But how the fuck do you load it......?
What if I wanted to use another sequencer?
Great turorial, thank you!
