2:56 this alg is easier for D layer pieces: r2 D' r2 D r2 (U2) r2 D' r2 D r2 edit: yes it is a bit slow, I use 3style, but it's easier for people who are just starting 4bld
Holy cow i didn't know this until now because last week i was searching for 4 bld tutorials but none of them were that high quality. and then I see this. Thanks man you are my savior! :D
Awesome vid Dylan. Was very concise n easy to understand. Btw for [Q] in r2 method for the edges / wings, instead u can use an easier n more comfortable setup to [V]: B' R B (U R2 U') r2 (U R'2 U') B' R' B. This alg is much more intuitive n easier to understand abt what's happening during the setup...
Yes!!! I did it! This tutorial is perfect. I got 16:33 on the first attempt. Probably overly cautious when remembering and turning but it paid off! This was after a month or so of practising of course (edges only, centers only, 4 edges at a time, etc).
I think for wings it's better to think about them as "the same letter for the color/piece as you would with 3bld". So the white of the white/blue would be A for both, and the further along clockwise rule is to see which piece you need to look at next. That's how I think about it and it made it much easier to memo for me
Just in case anybody is having trouble learning the top face centre swap, I put the "B" case into commutator notation: [Rw' F': [U r U', l']] If you have B or D in memo, then do this commutator but if *a)* B is 2nd letter in letter pair or *b)* D is 1st in letter pair, then do the inverse Inverse for convenience: [Rw' F': [l', U r U']]
For the centers, doing U V W X, I've found I can put them into W and then use the setup r2 U l2 U' r2 U l2 U', then do the U2, and then undo setup, U l2 U' r2 U l2 U' r2, which makes the whole thing, r2 U l2 U' r2 U l2 U2 l2 U' r2 U l2 U' r2. I don't know if this is better or faster, but for me, it's more intuitive and easier to remember.
Thanks so much for this tutorial. i learned 4bld a couple years ago from noah arthur but i took a several month break from cubing and wanted to relearn it. i came across this tutorial and realised that you taught it with the UFR as the helper piece for centres which i think is objectively optimal. So after spending like 30 min getting used to the new algs and making sure i knew all the setup moves, i did a few attempts and got a 5:55 dnf but it was only off by a 3cycle of wings. very surprised i got the centers first try. i use orozco with UFR buffer for corners so for parity i just do an adjacent corner swap alg (and not just parity then tperm, i use an actual alg)
For the bottom centres, I would recommend to shoot the bottom centre to DBL (X in speffz) with- (setup) (l B2 d2 B2 l') U2 (l B2 d2 B2 l') (undo setup)
Personal memorization : Corners: BP GA XF V (3style, UFR Buffer) Wings: MR W Solve order : 4bld--> 1. Centers 2. Wings 3. Corners 5bld--> x+mwc Wing Parity Algorithm : r' U2 r U2 r' U2 x (r U2)3 r2 U2 x' r' U2

tip for centers, when It's odd, add a "C" to the end of your memo. It helps make it stick better and makes it so you won't forget parity.
Carter Cuber Wow, didn’t think of that. Thanks!
Wow that's really smart tbh, seems especially useful for hugebld where you remember for more time, and there's more types of centers
Or Y or Z
nub nub Why those? Since center parity is literally just swapping to C, adding a C makes more sense.
SpedUHC since Y and Z is not the letter scheme

Great job! I average 13 seconds on 3x3,and I started doing 3x3 blind today, and when I get better I'll try 4bld
@@reazyy9667 Good luck. You'll have to learn M2 before 4bld. My 3x3 average is more like 23 seconds, so you might be a lot faster.
