Wow this tutorial is perfect. I have tried it 2 times, and both were successes. Thanks so much! Right now Im practicing 6BLD, and its fun! If anyone is curious, and struggling to find resources for 6BLD, I really recommend you to try to figure things out in your own, as it is not that hard and kinda fun. Just be aware that there are 4 types of centers, and for each step verify that you are using center-safe algs.
(this is kinda a long read so bear with me) Up until last week, I hadn’t done a 5BLD attempt in almost 5 years (the one attempt I did back then was actually only off by 2 + centers and 10 wings), but I’ve been doing a bunch of blindfolded stuff lately, so I figured I’d go for it. Last Wednesday I got an extremely painful (and super avoidable) DNF by 2 + centers, which left me absolutely fuming (and my reaction also ended up waking my dad) But, I tried again the next morning, and it brings me great joy to say that I have finally gotten a 5BLD success. This video is what taught me how to do 5BLD all those years ago, and words cannot describe how happy I am to know/say that it has finally paid off. So with that all said, from the absolute bottom of my heart, Thank You, Tim.
Whoa, this is truly a fantastic tutorial. Very informative, clear and well formatted. Will definitely check this out since I plan on getting back into big bld soon.
Thanks so much for this tutorial! Pretty much the only good one, and it happens to be amazing! I got my first success with this a while ago and am reviewing algs now...
You actually don't need to memorize the letter corresponding to flipped corners or edges: for edges I usually just try to visually remember where they are on the cube. If there is an even number I would just do a setup move for a doble-edge-flipping alg like (M' U)x3 M' U2 (M' U)x3 M'. If they are an odd number, it means that the buffer is also flipped. For corners I just memorize where they are and if they need to be twisted clockwise or counterclockwise, and then twist them using sexy moves.
@@nikitafilippetti7504 also, for corner twists memorising the location + direction is two pieces of info, while a letter pair is just one. another way of approaching this is to simply remember where the white/yellow sticker is
I have a question about midge/corner parity so you usually solve x centers> + centers> midges > wings >corners but when you get midge/corner parity do you do x centers> + centers> midges > corners > wings
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned this, but on your example solve, the corner memo is wrong. it should be UH CW ND Q PV instead of LS JT ND Q PV. The pieces are all right but if you do it your way, you will end up with the buffer and the U/L/G corner twisted.
Can you do the same thing as m2 on 3x3 and solve your UB and UL midges swapped and only do the corner parity alg rather than the m2 one and corner parity?
This is the only tutorial i can find for 5bld. Great work .Just one question. If i execute like in the order you said, then I'd solve midges do the parity alg and wings and then corners. But u have to solve wings in the middle. How do you solve wings if the midge parity alg messes them up? So u would have to solve them before midges . Hence it's better to solve midges and corners together. So u can just finish with the center safe alg. So the right order of execution must be x centers, + centers, wings , midges and corners.
I need to help with one thing. I want to solve midges before centers, but alg M' U2 M' U2 for solving UF midge changes position of centers. What to do?
Is there any reason to select D as buffer and B as target for + centers, why not the reverse? If B was buffer, then execution would be similar to the x centers , right?
how did you remove the logo from your one 5x5 because I saw the other one still has its logo..? please my QiYi Storm 4x4 has a logo and I need it for 4bld..
Thanks!! Do you know if you will make a 6x6+ blind obliques tutorial? I know Roman has one on Cubing world but it is 50 minutes long and very complex. I think you could make a much better one!
The interchange for x and + centers are the same (U2), so if you first setup the + center, and then immediately after the x center, can't you just do both at the same time?
So if i get midge-corner parity, I execute: x-centers - +-centers - Midges - Midge parity alg - wings - (Wing parity?) - corners - center-safe corner parity alg? Or will wings get messed up?
The OP alg for corners rotates the centers. The midge 4/5 movers also mess up the centers. These are solved center safe though, so if you solve centers first they’re perfectly safe
Memorize corners, wings, centers. Execute centers, wings, corners. If you don't want to execute in reverse order, you can memo centers, wings, corners, and execute in the same order
4BLD okay thx alot. I did a successful attempt today on my first day with a paper. I wrote the letter pairs down and so. I don't know how I will be able to memorise all that tho
@@tyronium2 i'm a bit late but the attempt I was talking about turned out to be a success. I didn't time the memo, but I had ~45 min exec. I have since done tried it a few more times, there is a video of it on my channel if you're interested.

horrible.
very concerning
I'll get around to this one day...

Bro I was literally about to upload my 5bld tutorial and you come out with this masterpiece ugh😂
This is the first ever good 5bld tutorial ever made! Comgratulations!
I got a successful 5bld solve in a comp thanks to this tutorial. Thank you 🙂
This information is something I'll see with a youtuber with at least 100,000. You easily deserve more subs and keep up the good work.
Finally decided to learn 5Bld today and this tutorial worked perfectly. Thank you!
Your channel has potential
Just got my first 4bld success and now moving on to this haha! Doesn't seem too much harder other than memo... Thanks for this
Whoa, this is truly a fantastic tutorial. Very informative, clear and well formatted. Will definitely check this out since I plan on getting back into big bld soon.
Thank you for doing this, i hope your channel can grow. It has lots of good work and quality.
Very good 5bld tutorial
thanks Tim! love from Kyrgyzstan, Asia )
Your videos are just amazing and they help me a lot I have also been when you just had 10 subscribers
Thank you so much for the example solve!
The tutorial is amazing !!!!!!!!
Tip: If u have parity for x or + centers just add a C at the end of your memo and you won't forget parity
Not when using 3style
For + centers it’s B not C bc the buffer is D but same idea
Thanks so much for this tutorial! Pretty much the only good one, and it happens to be amazing! I got my first success with this a while ago and am reviewing algs now...
3bld is slightly more than 20 targets since there are usually more cycles/twisted pieces for corners and therefore more letters

@@nikitafilippetti7504 yeah ik haha but it’s definitely situational. especially in multi when you’re attempting a reasonable amount of cubes

I have a question about midge/corner parity
so you usually solve x centers> + centers> midges > wings >corners
but when you get midge/corner parity do you do

I had the same doubt . I know what you meant . I think we can just solve wings in the middle
2 years late but you still do the same order!
I understood by watching for first time thanks dude
idk why I am watching this I already have a success
lol nerd
im not learning this the night before a pbq you are
0:05 further the question is, how many letter pairs in 6x6 and 7x7?
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned this, but on your example solve, the corner memo is wrong. it should be UH CW ND Q PV instead of LS JT ND Q PV. The pieces are all right but if you do it your way, you will end up with the buffer and the U/L/G corner twisted.
Can you do the same thing as m2 on 3x3 and solve your UB and UL midges swapped and only do the corner parity alg rather than the m2 one and corner parity?
If you wanna remember parity on + Centers, just add a "B" at the end of your memo, to remember the U2.
My brain is actually exploding
Hey guy, really good tutorial. Can you please do a tutorial on 7bld?(or 6bld), I don't know how to solve the obliques.
Can I use 3-style for corners?
There's only one new alg in 5bld in comparison to 4bld. I would have expected more, but this is cool.
can i execute in this order
+ centres, x- centres, wings, midged and corners
This is the only tutorial i can find for 5bld. Great work .Just one question. If i execute like in the order you said, then I'd solve midges do the parity alg and wings and then corners. midge parity alg dosent mess up wings
How can I find out how to apply these methods to larger cubes like the 7x7? Obviously it will take a crap ton of work to reach that point lol
Mark my words im getting a 5bld success
I need to help with one thing. I want to solve midges before centers, but alg M' U2 M' U2 for solving UF midge changes position of centers. What to do?
M' U2 M U2 M' U2 M U2 M2 should work for UF and M2 U2 M' U2 M U2 M' U2 M for DB.
How do you swap to bottom centers for X centers
watch jperm's 4bld tutorial (u need to learn 4bld first)
@ I have now
If i do corners-wings-midges-xcenters-+centers, which algs should I use for midges C, I, W and S?
My algs rotate de +centers
I need a new 5x5 for 5bld. which cube do you recommend getting?
4 years late but mgc is rly good
Does using m2 for midges as the first step messes up the centres? Any type of centre is just too much to put into audio for me.
3:00 Where does solving wings come in this order?
Solve wings like normal, think of fixing wings like doing pll parity for 4bld parity
Imo for +centers A is a better buffer because to setup a piece on the bottom to C you just do m' u2 m without a rotation
yes, but then the setup moves for other pieces aren't as good. it doesn't really matter, when you learn 3-style all U-face buffers are roughly equal
I ordered a replacement part from SCS ($1 USD iirc). I've also heard that a pencil eraser works well but I've never tried it
gently rub on the logo with sugar the logo will be gone in minutes
I cant even do 2x2 bld but i watched tutorial for 5x5 bld
Thanks!! Do you know if you will make a 6x6+ blind obliques tutorial? I know Roman has one on Cubing world but it is 50 minutes long and very complex. I think you could make a much better one!
Yeeaas
I beg him to do one
The interchange for x and + centers are the same (U2), so if you first setup the + center, and then immediately after the x center, can't you just do both at the same time?
Please tell me you will be making a tutorial on 3style. Pls. I think everyone needs a much clearer tutorial on that
stay tuned ;)
Yesss thx
is there a parity alg for 4bld and 5bld if you use 3 style corners?
Do someone uses 3style for big blind? If yes, will you make vids on that?
So if i get midge-corner parity, I execute:
x-centers - +-centers - Midges - Midge parity alg - wings - (Wing parity?) - corners - center-safe corner parity alg? Or will wings get messed up?
That's the correct order
Thank you
What's the alg for "Q" midges?
Here's the one I use
B' U R' B U' (M2) U B' R U' B
is it a good idea to memorise all the x centers with audio pairs or should I do half images and half audio? (for 4bld and 5bld)
Why am I watching this? I cant even do old pechman correctly
Does solving corners and midges affect anything else on the cube?
The OP alg for corners rotates the centers. The midge 4/5 movers also mess up the centers. These are solved center safe though, so if you solve centers first they’re perfectly safe
Thanks 😀
What order should i memorise and execute for 4bld? Thx
Roman Rooms!
4BLD yeah i know. But i forget them too easily. Ill just practice
HOW DO I DO X CENTERS
at 0:40 and 3:26 I mention that X centers are the exact same as 4x4 centers. Watch J Perm's tutorial to find out how to do those
4BLD oh yeah, thanks🙂
Nice bro
Im going to attempt 7BLD today!
Dont worry, i never got 4BLD, 5BLD or 6BLD succes in my life...

Is x-centers before +-centers mandatory?
no
Stefan Pochmann learned 5BLD before 4BLD!
