It's a hard way to earn a few quid Is Plastering hard on the body too. Plus it's easy to set up as a plasterer is cheap and there's so many different standards not many people will pay for good work
Excellent advice.
The right customers don't give a hoot about price. I worked for a bloke cleaning roofs for a bit when I was younger, some of the jobs were mansions, big places were 5 grand+ for a chemical spray, wire brush and rinse over a day or 2 max. It was a piece of piss. Once the neighbours saw, he'd have work for another few weeks at that money. He wasn't owt special, wasn't that intersted in the job or even that good at it but he was a genius at putting himself out there. You would only find his website if you looked for that work to be done and had that kind of money in a big house that warranted it. 90% of it was normal sized houses but even so, only the posh side of town worried about that kind of problem in the first place, he found his niche and never looked back.

The best to do is get them to pay up for materials on the first day you turn up and make it clear payment on completion, most have got the money they just don’t show the same urgency to transfer that money as they do when they urgently want the jobs doing
Totally agree with you Joel. Here in the West Midlands I'm a plasterer. @ fine finish plastering and you get the best service . You are hiring me and my knowledge. My cleanliness, respect etc..

First I want to say your are the best reander I've seen on hear and just in general and I don't like working for the public as what your saying is true I work for property developers and conservation company which gives me like 3 a month at very good prices so I'm always busy all year round with out advertising and I wasn't to have any thing I ask my old boss who taught me and he gives me couple off weeks to tie me over never burn your bridges they say big respect to you Joel

I never have trouble getting payment off customers you need to have good judge of character. Go for home owners middle age couples that you know will pay. And yes ask questions filter out all the messers

Internal plastering has always been a race to the bottom too many have a goes and guys working for beer money. External rendering is where the dough is and you don't get as many chancers undercutting you.
So if I want my walls in my lounge at my flat in Leeds smooth where should I go.
Standard practice is Google a plasterer, ask them to price a wall and they will do there system, for me if you want a wall doing you can fill in the form on my website, I’ll ask for image of the wall and then estimate from that. I wouldn’t travel to see a wall, I’ve seen thousands of them, I know how long it takes, what material I need, and how much I would charge. It’s not a great value job, relationship doesn’t really matter for me on a wall it’s too quick a job. You know what I mean mate?
The big guy has annoying voice and I can't stand this particular British accent. But he is spitting straight facts and valuable information for anyone in any trade. Have watched quite a few of his videos, because content is so familiar and even though most of it is common sense for me there is still some shit that can help me in the future. Worth every minute. I can say the guys honest and passionate about the trade and his business, willing to share as much useful information as he can.
I had the same mindset he has now (I'm 29). Now I'm more laid back. I'm employed always was, always will be and just don't think the headaches of running your own company is worth it unless that is your life's purpose and working under someone kills your motivation to work.
Let's be real though - the guy is a fucking giant. Always wondered how a heavyweight fighter would fare in this business. I bet what I do in a day only strains his body to 50%. It's just genetics he was born to do this and its like picking fucking pencils whole day for him. That's why weight classes exist - but that's sports and this is real life. I mean I am average build, athletic and probably can do what he does in a day keeping up with the quality but it would drain 80%/90% of my energy levels, cause whether you have on your body a physical strain of maybe 1/3 of your body weight or 1/6 of your body weight whole day makes a difference at the end of the day. Like just watching him operate hoses, machines, heavy bags... it's just fucking pencils for him. I can make it look that easy but it requires more effort from me and doing that whole day, day after day drains the shit out of you. While I assume he would feel great after work. I just feel like he doesn't realize he has genetics for any physical trade where it feels easy money. I'm not complaining just saying he has an enormous advantage for this type of work and going solo self-employeed. But whatever the content is great.
