It’s funny, cause overall, it looks like Snyder had the most financial successes, but WB got all worried and booted him, thus fracturing the fan base and support for DC/WB. If they just let him finish out his films, we would’ve been done with the Snyder movies years ago, and the fanbase would be way more open to a reboot. What a complete shit show all of this is. 😂
well of course his films are going to be the most successful. but after he left aquaman made a billion, shazam made enough for a sequel, then unfortunately the pandemic hit. Also let remember snyder was making the films about DC's most popular titular heroes so of course it was oging to make more money than something like shazam or birds of prey lol.
@@transfiguration8865 never said u were defending Snyder. I was simply stating why his were the most successful overall. (And it also helps that their cinematic universe was fresh)
DC fans or Snyderverse fans, it doesn't matter. These movies need to grab the general audience. In my opinion, there are two main reasons for DC being unsuccessful. Firstly, there's just way too many superhero movies right now. We're halfway a little more than halfway through the year and we already had: -Antman 3 -Guardians 3 -Shazam 2 -The Flash -Blue Beetle -The Marvels is coming out soon not to mention all the TV shows like Titans or Secret Invasion and this is still just DC and Marvel! People aren't going to care for a film like Blue Beetle or Shazam that are literally like every single generic superhero film in the past decade. The second thing: it's just trendy to hate on DC still. BvS, Suicide Squad and Justice League back in 2016-17 played out all the IP's good will. I remember everybody was sharing memes about how bad DC is compared to Marvel. It was so mainstream it wad literally IN the movies. "You're so dark! Are you sure you're not from the DC Universe?" in Deadpool 2. People don't care for DC is the unfortunate truth. I'm going to bet that WB is going to market the fuck out of James Gunn, every trailer and poster will have the tagline "From the Director of Guardians of the Galaxy" and honestly, I could see the movie building a hype similar to The Batman, if it's marketed right. I'm not worried about bad CGI. James Gunn is one of the few directors that still shoots in location and has physical sets even in the MCU. Groot, Rocket and everything else in Guardians and King Shark and Starro in TSS also look amazing. It's not about the budget, it's about letting the artists have time to finish what they are working on and not changing it constantly leading up to release. Just compare the quality of The Flash's CGI to something like Avatar. Those have similar budgets.
Kool Section! I made sure I am getting all notifications now, instead of personalized so I don't miss a video. I love Guns guardians of galaxy, but concerned Gun said he did not like Nolans Batman. However, he might not have said that exactly. I heard that from someone else. We will see how it plays out.
What up bro. I saw the news about Gunn's comments towards Burton & Nolans Batman as well. I'll drop some new vids this week discussing his DCU slate & other things.
All of this will not matter two years from now when they fire James Gunn when Superman Legacy doesn't make Marvel money. A fish rots at the head. It doesn't matter who WBD brings in. WBD is the rot.
Jesus Christ died for your sins on the cross. Repent and believe in him or you will be separated from God The Father for all eternity and face hell forever, for all eternity, never ending
It's time to go in a new direction, it's insane to keep the same actors and expect different results until there's no more fabric to weave. Gun had nothing to with films like Flash and Blue Beetle since they were filmed before he came on, as DC Studios head he can't say they're crap.
"this movie is not going to be a superman film already by default" im not gonna call shots yet. Gunn has said that these included characters are part of clark and lois's story so time will tell how true that is.

Tbh,I will reserve judgement on James Gunn DCU slate.I see these movies as a left over from the old universe. But I'm an optimistic person and I see this period as a rough patch before the start of the new universe.I do feel your hurt bro as a long time DC fan myself.
The thing is everyone wants to be the Boss until they have to fire someone, JG looks to be incapable of the latter instead saying they'll work together in some capacity. Additionally as a writer/director I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt we'll get some great films so everybody stop saying your done with JG.
I think DC fans are divided right now! What do you guys think? Where are the DC fans? Who has more DC fans, DCEU or new DCU? Opinions are good because you kind know where the DC fans are and where they are standing by who. Any comments welcome!
It's not easy to tell which has more fans since WB changed things up and the DCU hasn't released a film yet. I can't say the flops will stop just because there's a reboot on the way though.
Hey dawg, you hit it right on the button! The fan base is fractured and on both sides they have lost the trust of that fractured fan base. Right now everyone is doing some type of restructuring in their own lives. We don't have time for other people bullshit, and that's what the studios have been producing!
That mentality of "Just see the movie because it's good" doesn't work. If we know the story won't finish, why see it? If Empire Strikes Back was the last one and we knew it, why see it because it doesn't really end? Sure it was good, but it doesn't end. Why read a book series if there is no completion?
It's ridiculous that any new actor now is insulting to Henry Cavill, people like Snyder fans cannot comprehend he's no longer Superman, they talked shit about Tyler Hoechlin. Remember when Pattinson was cast as Batman, Snyder fans were like it's gonna be the worst because Affleck was no longer Batman, but everyone is praising The Batman, or when Michael Keaton was announced as Btman fans were mad and the they were praising, so is it possible that David Corenswet might be good? is it possible Superman Legacy might be good? but Snyder fans can't fathom Cavill is no longer Superman, they comprehend.
James Gunn is a one trick Pony. He's a good pick for Suicide Squad. But not Superman. But in regards to Batman, we have Battinson. People are gonna be confused AF when we bring in yet another one. People are confused AF. Not only are the fans checking out, but the general public is too.
I think the problem with Pattinson is the choice to try and tone down Batman and make his world fit into a realistic setting again. It feels like a remixed Nolanverse, and seeing Reeves say there's a grounded version of Mr. Freeze that could work in his universe feels like he's still running away from the fantastical side of the character. The whole reevesverse feels like a hindrance to future Batman plans instead of something to look forward to for me.
I also doubt the VFX in superman legacy will be trash. The difference between superman legacy and movies like shazam or the flash is experience. James Gunn has had experience working with VFX since the scooby doo days (which is what ended up getting him the guardians of the galaxy job). Andy Muscietti did the IT movies but never really worked with a lot of CGI nor did david sandberg before shazam so they lacked a lot of experience.
For me, The Flash was not as bad as a lot of people were saying. Shazam 2 was way worse. When I was watching that movie, I couldn't wait for it to end. It just SUCKED. Even Black Adam was better than that. Black Adam was....ehhh. No problem with The Rock. The main problems I thought were the script and the villain choices. With The Flash, Keaton was definitely the high point. And Super Girl was ok. For me, the worst DC movies are Shazam 2 and Suicide Squad (2016). Those are hot garbage.
Imo James Gunn ruined super hero films like the Guardians series with that bs over the top humor. Dance off bro and other goofy stuff that should be in a Will Ferrel film and not a Star Lord film.
I mean they're already not watching so I don't think they care at all. Everytime I see a new DC release the theater looks emptier than it was for the previous film. We'll see what it looks like for Jame Gunn soon enough.
Marvel post endgame 5.7 billlion. To me marvel has already hit peak cinema. They’ve earned the right to do. Side quests with eternal, Shang chi, moon knight, werewolf by knight. They are still building a new universe with. X-men and fantastic four. Secret wars is gonna hit different.
I'm obviously not okay with a soft reboot. They should reboot everything, I mean every single character except Peacemaker, I guess. I honestly somehow think Superman: Legacy is going to be a great film and it is still a Superman film. But I get what you mean, the other heroes might take over his screen time which I think they won't. The problem is how is it going to make this film a huge money. I feel like it is going to make a ton of money, not sure billion but at least closer which I could guess because James made Guardian of the Galaxy Vol 3 845.4 million, even though it is part of the Marvel Universe. I'm not saying that "Hey, a lot of people like this one, you're wrong." No, everyone has their own opinion on what they like or dislike. I'm just pointing out something that you might notice and maybe get a little bit hopeful for Superman film and DCU films. Because GOG3 could've been bombed if you think about it. Three DCEU films weren't part of James' work but probably did a few things on them? I'm a little confused about it. I think he knows what he's doing with Superman but I do worry about the rest of DCU characters like Batman and Wonder Woman, I do hope WW gets recast. There is at least a little hope. But the problem is we are having a soft reboot and box office. You're right, making comedy stuff is not fit for certain characters getting overwhelming, and other annoying plots. Just make the characters fit the way they are treating like in the comics.
It would be really hilarious if James gunn's Superman legacy and his DCU end up like George Miller's justice league mortal. I honestly want Gunn away from DCU. His half slate doesn't seem anything special. Also the way he's doing favouritism is just really bad
Using that excuse, why should I waste my time if they’re going to reboot it’s just a dumb excuse to try to hate on James Gunn’s either watch the movies or don’t you can still watch the movies if there’s a reboot hell every time they get a new James Bond is a reboot, but people still watch it. You can claim it's an excuse, but that's still what thousands of people have apparently lead with. They're not supporting these movies in a relevant capacity, and it's causing massive losses for WB.

Blame WB DC and JG for being the main contributors to the DCEU destruction.
I feel more people trust James Gunn then they do the DC brand. We will see in two years.
