Good video. I agree DC does seem to be a very divided Fandom lead by people who keep having Knee-jerk reactions. I'll be honest I was all for a complete reboot several months ago before WB told Cavill to announce his return. When Cavill announced how he wanted to play a more hopeful Superman, and with how he walked from The Witcher because they strayed from the source material, it made me even more excited to see what Cavill could do with a good script. So with his firing (Doomcock says rumors are it was really Zasloz pulling a knee-jerk). It was a big slap in the face to not just an actor but to a fan and most fans. Even if they didn't eventually want to keep going with Cavill, they still could have done like one movie so they are perceived as keeping their word and reset the world with the Flash movie. Ultimately, it feels like they want to start with a new vision of justice, and they laid the foundation on one of the biggest injustices around. So yea, without Cavill, I'm out. WB isn't getting any more money from me. Gunn isn't getting any more money from me.
If Cavill never came back, I would've been far more open to a full reboot. Teasing people with his return and knowing what kind of Superman he wanted to be makes this worse than it ever needed to be.
I’ve been a comic and movie fan for over twenty years. All I want to see in live action DC is for Superman to go up against Darkseid or Brainiac. A fully powered Superman fighting a villain just as powerful as him. But we’re apparently never going to get that.
Cavill was perfect, he was so disrespected dumping him AFTER asking him to announce he's returning? Screw WB and Gunn should be ashamed of doing this to a great Superman!

The funny part is Peacemaker and the Suicide Squad is gonna stay. Like how can you justify removing everything else to start over but keeping parts that clearly don't fit with new universe?
In Gunn's defense, his Suicide Squad content barely connects to anything. I don't think even Margot Robbie's Quinn makes any references to herself in the DCEU prior to the movie. Ayer's Suicide Squad makes reference to the "dead Superman" and has Batfleck in it. But Gunn's is really disconnected. Same with Shazam, which didn't show Cavill. These movies could easily fit forward. And I think they are more in keeping with the light-hearted happy time that Gunn wants for the DCU. I suspect that Blue Beetle is also very disconnected. If so, and it's a hit, I can see Gunn pulling it forward too. It's just a matter of inserting it into the timeline somewhere in their "biggest story ever told."

Yes, that is refreshing, but what is wrong with continuing the Snyderverse? He's also an egotistical liar. From the start, he knew exactly what he was going to do. Man, I had my hopes up when the executive change happened. Gunn and Safran are going to destroy DC comics, and history will repeat itself. Besides Matt Reeves' Batman, who is said to remain in its universe. I will continue to his masterpiece. I love and respect what Reeves has done with the new Batman. I'm not watching the rest of James Gunn's garbage.
I'm becoming more and more convinced that DC's cinematic universe is just doomed to be mismanaged and run into the ground no matter who's in charge of it. Seeing the new regime make similar mistakes of the old one gives me no relief and further divides the fandom. If Gunn and company really think that getting rid of everyone and rebooting everything will solve all of DC's problems, they're in for a rude awakening when they see just how big that divide is. Because they've pretty much rendered the remaining films that have already been greenlit utterly pointless, as well as putting their would-be reboot off to a rough start with the disappointing news of Henry Cavill's dismissal. You can't expect anyone to be excited for a new cinematic universe after unceremoniously abandoning the old one without any payoff. And if one or two movies in their reboot get a less than stellar reception, another knee-jerk reaction might be what causes WB to give up on DC films.
I mentioned the same thing to my lady a few days ago. Either that or a Superman villain with prominence. Watching him play Zod would be an interesting change but that's retreading characters we've already seen.

We'll keep going to the theater for 1 reason. Hope. If you're a true DC fan we have to have hope. I'll miss Cavill as Superman. He was perfect for the roll. He didn't write the awful movies that he was in. He's been dogged straight out by WB and now the new regime. But we'll hope they cast well. We'll hope that they follow the source material. Hopefully this semi reboot will be "Superman Year One" or "Superman Man of Tomorrow ". And if they make these movies just follow the material. And don't make a ridiculous casting like Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. If they want success just consult with the book writers or the animated teams. They don't have to reinvent the wheel here. They don't have to try and make it theirs. Just make it what it's supposed to be.
I couldn't stand Eisenberg as Luthor. He probably would've been better off playing some variation of The Riddler. Cavill will be missed, but we'll see what comes next.
Better than me. I lost enthusiasm with Shazam. Fun movie and all, but the DCEU had lost it's dramatic appeal. With Cavill's brief return, I was looking forward to a solo movie, but had no interest in seeing him interact with a different Batman actor. The dynamic would not be the same. I suspect Gunn is going to copy hard Disney's MCU.
I guess I spoke to soon when Cavill/Superman was going to face Brainiac. I hear rumors Te-Nashi( can't remember his first name Coates will do their Superman. DC messed up. We know that guy is racist.
The Coates project should be trashed. The least WB could've done is have Cavill in a All-Star Superman one off film where he can play the character in the way he's wanted to.
They aren't doing this for the actors, u guys don't get that and also from a buisness perspective the old cast would be too expensive to keep them for 10 years, so let's give them a chance first
You aren't wrong at all. But consider the chances: - Green Lantern. Panic...REBOOT. - MoS. OK, let's shove our reboot onto Nolan and Snyder's project and get to a Justice League movie as fast as humanly possible in a couple short 2 hour movies. - BvS. Let's chop 30 minutes off the theatrical version. Panned. Panic. Too dark so let's make a joke out of Ayer's Suicide Squad and then butcher it hard. - JL. Let's have Whedon "fix" it in a NEW DIRECTION. Flop. - Hamada comes in. Let's take the DCEU in a NEW DIRECTION and soft REBOOT. - Three flops later... Let's use the Flash movie to soft REBOOT and create an all female Trinity. - Discovery merger. Zaslav kills Hamada's plans and rescues the Snyderverse JL. Hires Gunn and then drops Cavill into Black Adam to signal the future. - Even if Black Adam didn't flop, Gunn's plans for his DCU is a hard REBOOT. Snyderverse completely finished. Chances? People are just worn out bro. According to the record, all it will take is for the first DCU movie to be less than exactly the exaggerated expectation that the studio builds up...and they will panic.
I think this genre has run its course. Especially with James Gunn going to make dcu like MCU 2.0 it’s going to kill the genre for sure even if the movies are good.

@@TheKoolSection Dumbest casting ever! Seems like they wanted Luthor to be Heath Ledgers Joker
Done with DC. They don't care about fans. Never have and never will.
My faith in the brand was just killed.
I want DC to be competitive with Marvel but they’re so damn messy & always making things 5x harder than it needs to be.
No more Superman?
Not anymore no
But
Good news for fans
He is to produce and
Star in Warhammer
Not Cavill at least. A younger rebooted version is on the way.
Gunn can take his flourescent Justice Leaque and stuff it, WB blew it this time, no longer interested,
They aren't doing this for the actors, u guys don't get that and also from a buisness perspective the old cast would be too expensive to keep them for 10 years, so let's give them a chance first
You aren't wrong at all. But consider the chances:
- Green Lantern.
I’m just glad affleck is gone as batman… in my eyes he was the worst Batman ever boring as fuck talked like a broken robot …I am pissed we are not going to get at least 1 more Keaton batman film with a burton I believe they deserve it
#boycottwbd for me
I don't think It will work! Besides, The Batman '22 & Joker were both masterpiece! I'll wait until The Batman 2 & Joker: Folie a Deux!
