THIS IS NOT COOL PBS.........
A really refreshing take on the "coming out" storyline.
Moms know. 😊 lol. Especially Mexican Hispanic moms. Wish this was little longer. I loved it. Funny how many Mexican goth boys tend to be part of the community. It’s not a phase but it’s a stepping stone to who we really are as a person.
Dang I remember my Goth/rocker era where I wore all black and hang around w goth kids back in the days 😂😂😂 I loved it... It's too bad I didn't really stuck to it because I actually did like the music, it helped me through all the pain and emotions and bad stuff I was going through ... The weird years of discovering who u really are and not being ashamed of it because u eventually find out, the others were the ones who were wrong and being different doesn't mean bad it's actually the opposite, why tf u want to blend in when u can stand tf out... But I was the most fukin shy kid back then but now I don't care anymore
It just helps people to express themselves and let them know their not alone there's other people like us out there.
Muchas gracias! This film is AMAZING on so many levels, and culturally/sacredly POWERFUL. It's DECOLONIZING and sacred medicine as well, I'm very impressed!
Loved it. I grew up in east Los Angeles I remember back then being a “paisa” would get a kid bullied (in school) so dumb and insignificant looking back.
I love that this story encompasses not only cultural identity but also sexuality, self identity, masculinity, and mother-son relationships.
And a single mother raising her kid because the father passed ...
Nice name!😆
I really enjoyed this short film. As a mom of sons, I definitely identified with the mom character.
Being “proud of who I am”
says it all. ❤❤!
A rarely talked about story yet an intricate part of all of Us in this country we call home
Lo mejor que abia mirado en mucho tiempo felicidadades es muy buen trabajo
It pains me to recall a few closeted punks who've sacrificed their heart to be 'a man'.
This is my Heartstopper
I would totally watch it if they made this a series like Heartstopper!
I saw this on PBS’s film, short clips and I tell you this is the best short film this season on that show Bravo
that was heartwarming.
This is a great film, the acting is very natural and real. Thank you for making this kind of movies. I identify myself very well with the new paisa.
Grinning from ear to ear! Love this film.

wow i would love to see a full length film of this , great actors and plot
Love this!
What a interesting/wonderful angle for "coming out" to a Mom/parent. I loved that moment when the beautiful Fernando was able to take control and 86 his red flag relationship. Reclamation for transformation via the question: "What are you going to hit me for real this time?" I look forward to seeing more of Christian in the future.
Fantastic short... Christian Urbina shines... the whole cast is excellent... well done 👍👍👍👍
I luv this movie I see myself in a movie for once 💓💓
Que bombon...

WOW...INCREIBLE¡
Loved it! Great job! The talent in front of and behind the camera is excellent!🎉❤
When I was younger, pbs played “real women have curves”, with America Ferrera. That was the first time I payed attention to a film and the message it brought. The first time I related to something on the screen.
I enjoyed watching the film. The production, the message, the actors, well done!
Great movie pochos!!!
This needs to have its own show
What a great short!. Loved it!
Great story of young guy accepting who he truly is!
♥ A big dose of inspiration
Amazing!
Fantastic!
Wow!! Love this!
PS California was Mexico before it became USA. “Mexicans” are indigenous Native North Americans. Millions of which originated from here and of which were here during whites mass invasion and still are here.
Say it louder for the people in the back, my Native cuz!! Of course, we Mexicans are Native Americans! 👏🏽🌵🦅🌞🪶🤎
" Beautiful story line , enjoyed the film .... Thank you for sharing .... Boa Sorte "
Hay algunos que son Hondureños 😊❤
LOVE!
Not me crying!!!
Excellent! Bien hecho!
Very similar to a story of a friend of mine in terms of being useful and in his teens growing from what was a really nice kid whose parents he was of Mexican descent came as a kid to the US. His parents his mom they all loved them. He didn’t have to come out to them. They just knew. I think the insinuation a lot of these types of films that Latinos are clueless. We’re always violent. Even insinuations are actually stereotypes, so erroneously wrong. My friend was a great kid had ambitions. He was discovering who he was when he came out to me around 13 years of age I had no problem I accepted. I looked a little bit beyond that. We hung out new wave Duran Duran to discover ourselves we were both creative, his mother eventually died I think from possible stress of guilt because apparently from what he told me, it was an abuse that he experience when he was a kid. It’s sad, but I think he held in there and coped on his own as we grew older in our years in the 80s, I saw him turn into a more radicalized, person hanging out with more radical activism wasn’t the word not even radicalized but you know it’s the pink triangle kind of militant type of thing you didn’t have to our society was still it was actually at that time very welcoming. Accepting. I never ever heard his family put him down or reject him his mother, his father all they all loved him very much. He never associated himself with street gangs cholos, etc. we were kind of going beyond that. He had a simulated retained his roots assimilated into US and European pop culture like new wave and so on skip too many years later after we grew apart. I’m gonna try to cut this as short as possible, but I thought I’d share this story that you see fictional is kind of a idealized version of what really happens. although he was never or he had never become homeless or a drug addict. He did use drugs and I think he did so to cope. I just saw him turn into a more decadent version of himself. I saw the transformation. NSA share this. I’m actually using voice to text going to the neighborhood and just listening to a Duran Duran cover song of perfect day, because buddies have a several perfect days of summer fun enjoying the city. I’ll leave you with the lyrics that ends that song. You’re gonna read what you saw. You’re gonna read just what you saw… You’re going to reap… Just… What you saw.
I like it! :)
Me habria encantado tanto los subtitulos en francés.......
Y a mi en Chileno 😢
should about Colombia not México, we have our own vernacular and is not one of them, guess all latinos are the same thing. !Viva México cabrones! 🇲🇽

Girl, no thanks.
This is trite. Personally, I am exhausted by this newly arrived immigrant-inner city-1st or 2nd generation stories. This is why, some Latinos have been here for generations or have always been here in the United States. Some of us don't live in the inner city but suburban neighborhoods like Whittier, Downey, La Mirada and Montebello. We're also modern. EDUCATED and cultured. This portrayal I feel is harmful because it always keeps us in this newly arrived and traditionalist bubble.
I get what you're saying but i think you missed the point of the film
@@DeeElle4030 coming of age story... not much to miss. Through the lens of traditionalism and the intersection of modernity. Identity strength by familia heritage and embracing your truth. My media literacy is apt, but thanks. Maybe just maybe, we can stop focusing on these dried out and damaging stereotypes. Some of us never left and have always been here. We are native to this land and not newly arrived immigrants.
Not every piece of art is for everybody. Make your own film if you wanna see Downey on the screen. 🤣
Now I know that most paisas aren’t straight lol
❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤
O cmmentaire beni qie fe scènes et fe dituations drôles n"as -tu pas rapportées!.Ton curseur a besoin f"etre réglé..Vive l'equite.
Sad for the mexican culture
Said a sad you! We don't see this as a problem because it's none of our business who loves who, as long as you don't harm others or yourself, have at it I'm not part of it but I don't hate. The fact that some don't have my ideals, is just a fact of life and part of the journey is understanding the world is not monotone, but is full of nuance.
Loved this!
