Deadly tornado sweeps through China’s Guangzhou

A strong tornado hit the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou on April 27, 2024, killing at least five people and injuring 33, as severe rain and a hailstorm battered Guangdong’s provincial capital. Video circulating on social media showed power lines struck down, while the local airport lost power for 12 minutes. Over 140 factory buildings were damaged, authorities said. More wet weather has been forecast for the city already drenched in record rainfall.

dude a tribal shelter would hold up better against this storm than most of these buildings. deforestation, and the urban heat island effect plays a bigger role among other ecological damage that directly messes up the weather long before greenhouse gasses do.
There's no evidence supercells are occurring more frequently over time.
Mother nature is just scary what until you learn about volcanoes, or viruses.

Not common here. Also the tornado was very local, not a big one. I'm in that area of Guangzhou now and if it wasn't for the internet, I wouldn't know anything about the tornado.
