    Two weekends ago, I missed a very nice buck antelope at 350 yards with my 30-06 rifle... thanks for making me feel even worse about it... ;)
    Incredible shot.

    Hey I have one of those (somewhere). That rest looks the ticket, I need one. I have a Burris 3-12x to put on my rig when I get it back. If just to start out with. Great clip Ernie!

    Craig,
    You sure came up with a great idea. We used it in a different manner than it was designed for, but it works great the way we used it.
    Until you called me a week or so ago, I had no idea that your SSR had been sold to Primos and that it's name had changed.

      @@xphunter24 Hey sir! HA I never expected a reply. Yeah, I LOVE the MOAs though I never got one. Lots of IHMSA friends had them. I have a Wichita MK40 in 7BR. Anyway, again, great shot with what looks to be a 10" barrel. I see the new crop of revolvers like the 500 SW and it makes me scratch my head; .308 is much better and you don't flatten your elbow. Best of luck, sir.

    Pro Ears
    They did a ear mold so they fit real good. had for several years now.
    Amplify (controllable) and shut done when firing.

    Ernie - great shot! What kind of hearing protection were you using there? I'm still in the markey for something I don't have to fuss with before the shot and that I can run full-time when I hunt.

      I bought it new with a 22-250 barrel on it back in the mid-90's for around $650-$700 as a gun store in Amarillo TX was going out of business (I think...Shut my eyes to many times since then). Then sold it to a buddy, and he added a 260 Rem barrel to it. Couple years later I bought it back...One of those kind of deals. Best 5-shot group I have made at a 1000 yards with a 15" MOA (Chambered in 6.5-284) at a 1000 yard BR match is 5.5". Not a great group, but for an external hammer set-up I was pretty pleased. They shoot very well. E

      +bowhunter 85 ,
      Shouldn't be to bad, but as you already know a suppressor will not reduce felt recoil as good as the better brakes out there, like Holland's radial baffle. What bullet weight are you considering? I think with the 20" tube and the suppressor, recoil will be very manageable. shouldn't have any problem using a rifle scope. Varget and CFE223 have worked great with the 168 grain A-Max. For hunting I would go with that bullet.

    WB,
    This is BOG-GEAR's new HD BOG-POD. It is a more solid tri-pod than their CLD-3.
    The way we set it up a 500-600 yard shot would have been just as easy. It is that solid.
    Give me a holler if you have any questions.

    Why not just use a rifle, you have a long barrel, tripod, and rifle scope... there is literally 0 reason to use a pistol, the only advantage you gain by using a rifle at that point is more accuracy and velocity, which are two things you as a hunter can't "be good at" anyway.

    • @xphunter24
      @xphunter24  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The main reason is I don’t want to use a rifle. A specialty pistol is more fun for me.
      Second, my specialty pistols are every bit as accurate, and actually more accurate than the majority of hunting rifles out there.
      Third, obviously I’m not gonna have the same velocity, but as long as I have an impact velocity that’s within the bullets design to perform well, it doesn’t matter=dead is dead.
      Most people don’t consider 14 inches a long barrel😁
      Have a great day!

      Shoot a doe kills 3 next year. I saw it happen in Mi.
      Then everyone wanted to know where the deer went.
      Eagles and coyotes are killing antilope like sheep.
      Shoot them coyotes.
      Save an antilope.
      I see it all the time.

      I kill coyotes when possible.
      I had two antelope permits that were Fredo, and only filled one of them. If the state puts them out someone’s gonna pick them up and use them.
      Over by story where I picked up leftover whitetail doe tags there’s a population overload up there

    • @daverowe762
      @daverowe762 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Very good to bad we can't shoot Eagles still ..I saw 4 on a antelope one day and 2 killing another antilope another day. Flying coyotes. Some people over kill I'm glad you're not just a killer. When I was young
      I didn't think I just killed.
      Good hunting. 👍
