Comparison should be M32 vs QU-32 and Wing vs SQ. For a small church the cost is a big difference, especially when you're talking about the P16 and the ME system.
I almost can't believe my luck! Just started serious research between these two (and the M32) and there's very little available online that compares the two. This was just great! Thank you so much!
I've used both consoles and the SQ is a much better experience IMO. The mix bus / monitor set up is so much better (and more intuitive) on the SQ than the X32. Volunteers pick it up faster and like you said Kade - routing is less than desirable on the X32.
Having used all of the mentioned mixers except the Avantis, I totally understand the limitations of all of them. I've just installed an X32 into my church replacing a Qu. The two other guys who operate the sound have never used the X32 so the routing is a nightmare and trying to get their heads around the busses: 16 but 4 are FX and 2 are L/R If I had the cash I would go for the Wing
Would agree with a few other people on here that the SQ is far better than an X32. Also no one mentioned the extra Slink slot for extra expansion cards. Regarding the bussing once you start looking at stereo IEMs the SQ eats the x32 for busses. Yes the ME-1s are expensive but you get 40inputs of your choice you can individually mix unlike the others where things need to be sub mixed down to groups etc. Regarding sound quality once you spend time mixing at 96k and then you go back on a console that’s a 48k you will hear the difference. The SQ is more up against a Wing rather than a X32.
Been using the SQ-5 for corporate events and livestreams for 3 years and I still find it confusing to look at and use. Coming from analog Mackie & Behringer mixers and digital Yamaha & ProSonus I find that everything has a different name on the SQ5 and everything is so hard to get an overview over. Still after 3 years with it we need to hire an external engineer to make any changes to configuration and routing. It’s so frustrating to wrap my brain around it! Besides that we recall the right scene for the event and Lowcut/EQ/compress/de-ess and the SQ5 works just fine. But something with the colors and layout of the buttons is just off and hard to see and memorize.
I use A&H ME1 personal monitors with my SQ that don't use any Aux sends and it works great. Yes they are a bit pricy but they are straight forward and sound super.
@@collabworship Great! Just to be clear, I wasn't talking about you specifically, just in general I don't see audio channels talking about other brands. Great videos, be well!
Thanks for the helpful video! I‘m doing audio for a band with 13 musicians, all of them use IEMs which all have individual monitor mixes. But as far as I understand, the SQ5/7 can‘t handle that because of the „only“ 12 mixbusses, right?
Why are you guys even comparing the x32? The x32 is 12 years old at this point and no one should be buying an x32 the processing power is over a decade old. Should be comparing the wing that's behringers current flagship.
The expense of the IEM stations native to the consoles really needs to be weighed in to the decision making process. It's radically more expensive to buy more IEM stations for Allen and Heath than for Behringer.
I have never liked he x32, I’d take an sq over the x32 every time. Also the x32 should just go away, the wing is much better all around. Also on the topic of sound quality there is a considerable bit of difference between the x32 and the A&h boards as per what I have experienced and heard using them. Being that the x32 is a very poor performer of sound quality especially when it comes to the on board processing.
Man, this is such a good idea for a comparison! I would probably be comparing the SQ to the Wing.
Thanks guys, it was a total please to work with you on this 🎉🎉🎉
Awesome to have ya man!

Thanks heaps for this vid. Looking a going from Analogue to Digital, so this was great.
Definitely look into the Behringer WING as well.
Thanks guys, I do use the new compact Allen & Heath CQ20T
What about other brands ?
All I hear people talking about is X32 and SQ.
What's happening with Yamaha, Midas etc... ?
We are working our way through each brand, starting with the most widely used ones.

Ya, you only have 12 mix busses to work with.
@@collabworship can you recommend an alternative then thats similar to the SQ5?
@@fabioweissenberger2708 The Behringer WING has 16 Aux stereo busses and 4 stereo mains busses in the same price range.

Get an X32 and a rack X32 and you have a dual mixer setup cheaper than an SQ5.
Or you can just buy any headphone amp and use that for IEMs and use the SQ4You app to mix your monitors. No need for a $500-800 box of buttons.
@@johnmcvicker6728By dual mix are you referring to in-ear monitor mixing for the 2nd mix?
03:05 - X32 Routing confuses me every time!
Me too!
Set all routing to User and use the X32 edit app to see what you are doing, BUT yes it's a nightmare
PA has got to be good first, though. Mixer quality may not matter if PA and room have issues.

The sample rate impacts the latency
How much?
Sorry but sq is much superior in audio quality. The difference is very big.
Yamaha has a gap between DM3 'n' DM7 Compact. DM3 has limitations; CHs count faders layers. TF3 should be replaced by a DM5 🎛🇯🇵
