Either way, both were a touching stories about the love of the two brothers and their God.
I believe that story is said to take place in a softer dimension then ours, and may have been written before this story, which I believe takes place in our dimension. And yeah, SCP lore and canon is whack, so I'm of the opinion that everything is canon (except the Clef and Peanut story), and variations just take place in different dimensions/universes :) Hope that helps!

Nah they didn't swapped their personalities, cain became nice because he's been wandering the earth for a long time and because of that he became wise and nice. I honestly would love to meet SCP 073, Cain. He seems so polite and he even apologized to SCP 076, and although not knowing what the apology was for, happily spent time with Cain.
There's part of the story that didn't told in this and it is actually quite sad. If you want to read it in more detail, search for SCP Tale of Cain and Able titled "Oblivious". This is one of the best story I ever read about Cain and Abel.
I'm guessing since Abel forgot why he hated Cain, his thirst for revenge died, and made him mortal. Kinda sad really. The only way they can reunite is forgetting why they fought in the first place.
If it makes you feel better there is a story where things ended up differently when they met... scp-076 tried to decapitate 073 several times killing himself in the process, then he ended up calming down and asked why he killed him. In the end they made up, and both crumbled into dust...

I honestly love SCP-073! He’s a very distinguished gentlemen. I also like his sibling rivalry with SCP-076. Cain is kindhearted soul who just wants to reconcile with his brother. The fact Cain has perfect memory and claims to have been mechanical for as long as he can remember hints he was never human to start with. If that’s true, he cannot be the firstborn of Eve either. Cain must’ve had a different mother. Lilith? Or Mekhane? What puzzles me is Cain requires sustenance in spite of his immortality. If he’s always been a mechanical being, why does he eat? It’s safe to assume that Cain is a cyborg, but there’s a possibility that he could be a full on robot too. It’s not like the SCP staff can cut him open and know for sure what his internal structure is like. I guess we’ll never know. 🤷🏻♀️
One thing that always bugged me about this SCP. They make a point of saying that anything damaging done to him is reflected to the one that does it, thus preventing blood from being drawn and so on. But....couldn't they just have him draw his own blood?

Nah they didn't swapped their personalities, cain became nice because he's been wandering the earth for a long time and because of that he became wise and nice. Abel became an angry killing machine because he was angry that cain killed him. So they didn't swapped their personalities, they are just experiencing character development.
The other version is much sadder, though. Able keeps trying to kill Cain every time they met. But one day, Cain apologizes, hugging Able. Able hugs back, and they both turn to dust.
So basically he maxed out his defence and able maxed out his ofence

There's part of the story that didn't told in this and it is actually quite sad. If you want to read it in more detail, search for SCP Tale of Cain and Able titled "Oblivious". This is one of the best story I ever read about Cain and Abel.
Abel dying after Cain apologized AND them starting to get along is quite possibly the saddest stories ever in the SCP universe

I'm guessing since Abel forgot why he hated Cain, his thirst for revenge died, and made him mortal. Kinda sad really. The only way they can reunite is forgetting why they fought in the first place.
If it makes you feel better there is a story where things ended up differently when they met... scp-076 tried to decapitate 073 several times killing himself in the process, then he ended up calming down and asked why he killed him. In the end they made up, and both crumbled into dust...

No, what happened was that he responded to god saying, “I am not my brother’s keeper”. After god have him the Mark because Cain complained that it sent out of Eden he’d be killed. The Mark was there to tell people that if anyone killed him they’d suffer through a pain 9 times worse then what he went through.

I honestly love SCP-073! He’s a very distinguished gentlemen. I also like his sibling rivalry with SCP-076. Cain is kindhearted soul who just wants to reconcile with his brother.
The fact Cain has perfect memory and claims to have been mechanical for as long as he can remember hints he was never human to start with. If that’s true, he cannot be the firstborn of Eve either. Cain must’ve had a different mother. Lilith? Or Mekhane?
What puzzles me is Cain requires sustenance in spite of his immortality. If he’s always been a mechanical being, why does he eat? It’s safe to assume that Cain is a cyborg, but there’s a possibility that he could be a full on robot too.
It’s not like the SCP staff can cut him open and know for sure what his internal structure is like. I guess we’ll never know. 🤷🏻♀️
