      @ There are lots of refugees in Turkey. Egypt, Saudi and Israel obviously don't accept refugees as they are funding this shit in the first place. To be fair all of the EU and USA is complicit, but people see these places as more safe for their families. If you don't want refugees then start protesting the wars we started and continue to fund. Also nice little slide to race politics there. I can see you're coming from an honest angle...

    The man has been in the UK for 41 years, he's practically english, has a family, works, lives his life as a normal citizen. And he's on immigration bail, absolutely unbelievable.
    Edit: Might remove this comment if all the negative innapropriate replies keep coming in. This was meant as a statement to say how unbelievable the system is, it never had anything to do with race or nationality and it's been blown way out of proportion.

      English is a nationality. Not an ethnic group. I'm English, not that it qualifies me to determine what being English means just like it doesn't qualify you to having lived in England.
      There has been so much invasion, rape and movement etc etc going on in Europe through the centuries saying that Welsh people are a different ethnicity to Scottish or English people is ridiculous.

      Here in Belgium and in The Netherlands you get on immigration bail even if you are born in this country. They look at where your parents or grandparents are born and they will send you back to your ethnetic country. Even if you basically already have a Belgian or Dutch nationality. like what? It doesn't even make sense.

      Sounds good in principle, but in reality, societies divided itself alongside mostly ethnic lines and thus creating ethnically dominated state. This ethnicaly dominant society created their history and culture that is defining their self perception.
      No one is entitled to be automatically respected, everywhere, everyone has to earn it.
      Further away outside of the mainstream you are, harder it is for you to break through.
      Societal norms, even if adopted by you, may not be set for you. You may feel British, but by not looking English, you are just looking like a foreigner all your life.
      And this issue has been created for you, by your own parents, that are exactly guilty of the same ignorance that you are taking about, by being clearly defined individuals, and possibly beliving in the future lala land of utopian meritocratical society, where being multi culturally undefinable suppose to have been a virtue.
      But in the old world, this is not and never was the case, and possibly never will.
      Different peoples, threaten sense of self, and as such they can be entertained if useful, but not as much as to endanger the mainstream status quo.

But he fought in WW2 , raised a family, opened a pizza place.. couple of generations later, we're PROUD Texans. Dad's side is German, and my great grandma came here from Greece. I like being a mix bag a nuts here in my neck of the woods. We done got folks from all over the world that came and move here throughout our history. I've met folks like "mo" all the time here in the states.. you'd be surprised what someone can make of themselves when they find a support community and you take them under wing and show them direction to success. It ain't easy but turning your back on folks looking for a better life just makes things worse. Heck we got folks from Syria that have moved here and reopened their cafes and resturaunts in our cities. That's how folks assimilate. To me, ya'll just seem boring. Ain't worried about sounding anti-British.. we done ended our relationship with ya'll in 1776.

Real men would stay and fight until either they were dead or their family was free. Its not always easy to do the right thing but running away from the problem only allows it to grow.

    • @Akillesursinne
      @Akillesursinne 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      True enough, but also, if we all just flee, then the war just moves on. One day, we'll have to fight, no? And poland isn't a country being terrorized, so pretending to be blind just to pretend virtue is nothing but weakness.

    • @Nathangoldstein2
      @Nathangoldstein2 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Ghufran No country wants cowards who abandon their families. Also you are insane if you think rape is likely in any European country. it just isn't and the statistics prove it. Rape is common in the Middle East, Africa and some parts of South America. Leaving your female family members there is a guarantee that that will happen to them. In Europe they would likely be fine, even in eastern Europe.
      If every adult male refugee stayed in their country and fought for their freedom they would have a strong enough force to take their countries back and protect their families. Unfortunately people are choosing the cowardly way out, leaving their families to suffer and letting their countries be controlled by terrorists.

    As a third-generation immigrant whose grandfather was born in Hungary and lived a life in Hungary until the Hungarian Revolution made it unlivable for him, the Red Cross sponsored him to come to the UK. My Grandfather knew NO-ONE, he spoke not a single word of English, he had no job and had lost his entire life. Suffice to say he has since moved back to Hungary as that is his home, his language and his life, he didn't have a choice. For him it was simply life or death. As it is for most immigrants, but the British public and many other countries fail to recognise this. I resonate with this video immensely, I cannot fathom how difficult it must be to leave home with nothing and often no-one to set up life in a country which is so heavily biased against you. Well done to these two who have overcome their battles and come out the other end.
    Don't be so quick to judge others, you don't know their situation and if the shoe was on the other foot, how would you react?

      Hungarian here. My great-grandfather had served as an officer in the army under Nazi rule, so naturally they made plans to flee the country when the Soviets arrived on our doorstep. They had already packed there things and were getting ready to leave for a refugee camp on the Austrian side of the border when he threw down his briefcase and said that he had not committed any crimes and so was not going to run from his homeland. Obviously, he couldn't get any good jobs, so he sold fish at the market and cleaned windows. There came times when the police came knocking on their door and my great-grandmother had to hide him in the closet so they couldn't convict him for war crimes and send him off to gulag. Luckily, they survived the communist regime, but I sometimes wonder how the life of my family had gone if they had escaped. We had the luck of being a bourgeois family full of educated people, but I can't even begin to fathom how horrible it must be to be viewed as completely alien in a land whose language you neither speak nor understand.

      He wasn''t an immigrant trying to set up life in Britain though, he was a temporary refugee given asylum untill he could safely return to his country.
      Immigrants who move somewhere to settle and work because the country has a need for them are different from people given asylum, the government doesn't owe they same responsibilties to them both.
      The British guy in the video has been let down by HIS government which is responsible for him as one of its citizens.
      The Syrian guy has been given asylum, a roof over his head, food and 6 months free college education despite him not being a citizen, which is more than many countries do. The government has offered to keep him safe and alive, not give him the life he dreams of.
      He should be going back to Syria as soon as ISIS are defeated or he gets the courage to join the fight against them.

    I think there is racism because of how the mainstream media usually portrays immigration, there is never anything good on the news or on social media and that’s what is making people racist because they create the stereotypes from the media and it needs to change because most immigrants are trying to find a better life and work harder to make life better for themselves and we need to respect and help that not beat them out. These two people are amazing and people too, it’s inspirational and we need to respect and embrace this.

    I like to think these big first world countries are more of an idea/philosophy rather than something as simple as birth. If you migrate to another country, work hard, uphold it’s ideals, contribute to society then you are British, American, etc. I’ve known many shitbags born in said first world countries, like the guys giving them hard times. It’s a roll of the dice, no one chooses to born, where they’re born and who their family is, all you can ask is someone be a decent person and work hard, it’s too much of a caveman philosophy to think in an us vs them mentality.

    Culture is linked to you culture not your race. You can be black and British. Just like you can be white and African.

    • @Dudedubba
      @Dudedubba 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@vb7360 Exactly. Even if you take Latins, Germanic and Slav you have a lot of diversity inside each culture. Portuguese, French and Italians have Latin roots but have unique cultures.

      No, genetically you can differentiate from a Slav and an Iberian. Hell, you can even genetically figure out who is a Southern or Northern Italian by their different genetic clusters (with many Northern Italians looking down upon Southern Italians since they have Arabic ancestry even if it is on average like around 2%). In Finland, people who live along parts of the coast are more Germanic than they are Finnish while the Finnish Finns live more inland because when it was part of the Swedish empire, most of the Swedes lived in those areas.
      Europeans, however, are more likely to prefer each other since they have similar ethnic heritage and similar cultures as a result (unless you’re masochistic). This is why European immigrants even in this comment section are advocating against mass immigration from the third world into Europe while not even bothering to LARP as English when they’re obviously Polish, French, etc. since they respect the native cultures of their fellow Europeans more.

      @@endurovro mate I'm white and I live in South Africa. White people make about 10% of South Africa's population. Still our politicians remind us around every corner that we're not African. Never been to Europe. Ancestors come from Netherlands and I can't go back there. So I'm here in Africa. Speaking a African language(Afrikaans) eating African food. Having a African culture. Only knowing AFRICA. Now you're telling me that I'm not African even tough it's all I know the great "EUROPE" won't have me even tough I share genetics with the Dutch? Even if I had the opportunity to go I wouldn't. This is my country and my continent aswell. And man just because you won the sperm lottery of being born on THAT side of the border doesn't make you superior or better in any way. You were lucky. That's it. LUCK.

    Just wow. These 2 melted my heart. I am going to honestly say something that my parents were very racist really, and it would really upset me and my husband, we had to tell them a few times to keep their opinions to themselves, when they would say things infront of our kids, their grandchildren. It used to make me feel ashamed, embarrassed and angry if I'm honest. They have recently passed away, but I'd have shown them this video if I'd had chance. It's beautiful.
