Bethnal Green

I took a walk along Bethnal Green Road on a sunny day in August 2023. Bethnal Green is in the heart of the East End and has much history associated with it. During WW2 many of the residents used to rush to the Bethnal Green Tube Station for shelter during the blitz.
Bethnal Green has historically been a working class area of London with a fantastic community spirit associated with it. There is a memorial next to the tube station for the Bethnal Green tube disaster of 1943, It's worth reading the plaque on the memorial if you visit the area because it details the events of that night in 1943.

Love the red double decker busses. I find the outdoor food vendors interesting. In America we have food trucks, but not street vendors. At least where I live.

Yes the red double decker bus is very iconic of London. There has been a market on this road for many many years, lots of history associated with this part of London.
