No matter how many times I'll listen to this song; I'll never get bored of it! Somehow reminds me of Bonobo, I'm not sure why 🙄
Dude! I was just in Wyoming!!! No freaking way! I was just thinking how to convey this song. It growls and growls until it's fed. I went mountain biking in Cody. I petaled past carcasus of dead cows, has a sixty mile per hour tail wind which shoved my up hill. It was only about 2 miles deep into the unknown, but what a fuckin' a-plus experience! I petaled down hill in low gear 1 - 1.8 and barely could maintain 2 miles per hour. No. Really! Dead cows and all! It was a trippy trip! This song nails it.
The progression of this song is just incredible! It goes from mysterious to confident to depressing to upbeat to majestic then to downright apocalyptic!! I'm just blown away every time I hear this song. This is easily their best track they've done, and I can't believe it's only a B-side. Also, awesome video, it should definitely be the official video for it, syncs up perfectly.
This track is like never stop going, keep going nothing stays, everything is permanent and you have still going, everyone's left you just had to keep going and going and going to a neverend trip that's called life.
This video is a person (In my case a man) looking back on his life as he is in his twilight years, old and broken down and basically with nothing left, hence everything moving in reverse in the video. His friends and family are dead or at least gone (the animals and dead, barren landscape in the video). Even the mountains (his strength) are gone at the beginning. The landscape represents his life both in his physical body and his experiences. He is old and has nothing left but memories, so we are viewing him as he is, and as the song progresses, what he was, what his experiences were, etc. You'll notice the flies at the beginning and the dragonfly near the end are moving backwards, illustrating a trip back through his life. It's a beautiful song. I often put it on repeat and listen to it for an hour at a time.
