Thank you so very much! I moved my printer from one office to another and that's when I started getting the no paper area message. I didn't want to purchase another printer, so I went to TH-cam, and your video did the trick. I'm a 66-year-old female and still fixing just about everything with the help of people like yourself who don't mind sharing. From electronics, appliances, plumbing and electrical, as long as I can understand it and lift it, I'm good to go.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO! I though I would need a new one.
    NOTA BENE....
Unless yours was different than mine, You should mention that after you remove the screw in the back, and loosen the clips in the front that it doesn't just "shimmy off",
There are also mounting points on the top about ½way back that I used a screw driver to gently lift the cover before I could get it off.
Oh and "Maneuvered to sit back on that pole" sounded WAY easier that it was!
LOL, but I finally got it by moving the gears until it seated..!
    MORE IMPORTANTLY THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!

Hey! Thanks for helping me rescue this printer. Totally worked. I was about to buy another one because I couldn’t figure out where the little tab went.

Ten people you helped which reduced landfill and reduced revenue to Best Buy by about 1000.00 or more.

Not only I just saved 300+$ with this fix but I won't have to round trip to the store to get (& shop) for a new one. My 12 yo Brother will continue it's work ! Only thing is, I had to remove the round spinner thingy to be able to sit the plastic piece in place.

Help! My side panel will not come off. I unscrewed only one in the front but everything is stick stuck together and will not disassemble. What am I doing wrong? I have an MFC-7860DW

    • @RichardKistnen
      @RichardKistnen  ปีที่แล้ว

Did you undo the screw in the back of the printer? I did this years ago, but there was a screw in the back that secures that cover to the machine, that screw has to be removed before you can pull the cover off

@@RichardKistnen Thanks Richard! I did it! I listened again then put more elbow pressure on the other parts of the panel. I am continuing with the rest of your great video now. I am certain I will need to purchase the white part. But you will be saving me alot of money. Thank you!!

OMG!! YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!! My printer has had this problem for almost a year, and I could not figure out what happened or how to fix it. I did all the normal stuff trying to fix it, but nothing worked until I came across your video. I was skeptical that stupid little piece was the problem, but wouldn't you know, that was exactly the problem! Back to working like the beast of a printer she's always been! Thank you 😊

Thanks so much for the hint. I did not have to open the lid. I just used my little metal and moved the white plastic piece out and....Voila. It worked right away.

LIKE THE OTHER COMMENTS SAY.....THANKS! THE REMOVAL OF THE SIDE PANEL WAS A LITTLE DIFFERENT, BUT ONCE I GOT IT OFF, IT WAS PLAIN TO SEE THAT THE SPRING KEEPER HAD SLIPPED OFF OF THE WHITE TAB. PUT IT BACK ON AND WALA.....PRINTING AGAIN!

Thank you for this. Mine was broken (the top part of the plastic peg that the piece swivels on broke off somehow). I fixed it by putting a screw through the stump of the peg it swivels on. I had to pull all the motors and metal covers to get to it, but it's working again!

The white thingie was off the spindle. Getting the side panel off & on was the hardest part,
but managed without breaking any of the plastic parts. Awesome tutorial!! 👍😜👍

Great and helpful video. you took your time, didn't skip any steps, had great close ups. Cons) I just still don't know the difference of how the little white piece in the front of the printer is is suppose to look. They before and after look the same to me unless you didn't show a before image??? Also the piece that your referring to once the cover is open you said was of a pole but it looked like it were to be pushed down to touch it that it would break.

Hi Richard, I never write any comments on youtube but I have to say a huge thank you for your video.
We did move our printer recently, so I guess that was the reason for the error. Thanks to your video I was able to fix it myself. Thanks so much! You saved me a lot of time!
