It's really helpful to have your analysis of the techniques you use in your drawings, especially these highly detailed images. I especially appreciated the reference to the corners and edges.
Thank you so much! For a person who's art started in digital, the notion of changing the technique of markmaking to better the description of the whole picture form was GROUNDBREAKING. Really really changes the game, as you might now, in digital art the instrument's mark is usually considered a decorative texture.
Thankyou thankyou for doing this video.... dense foliage has been my nemesis for the longest time ... this will be so helpful to stop me feeling so overwhelmed in scenes like this
A very overwhelming photo 4 sure here Stephen but with your 5 technics points it has simplified it for me x thank u for sharing your knowledge and teaching. love Alli and Bella from the UK XXX
Perhaps I am not advanced enough for this one. I have watched dozens of your videos and you have taught me so many things that have improved my drawings. Thank you for that. This one was the first Video that I don't understand. Maybe I need to watch a few more times? I have not heard you mention siloette edges or fire breaks before and not 100 % sure what you mean and how to incorporate them myself. This one seems overwhelming to me. Not discouraged though. All the others have been amazing so I will skip this and try again later.
Silhouette Edges refers to the edge of an object especially where is stands out clearly - such as against a clear skk. By fire break I mean a gap between two areas (in australia to stop or slow down spreading bushfires). But it's really here a metaphor to describe an area of separation between two parts of the drawing that might be confusing and look ,erged together otherwise. Does this help? I have a playlist on this area of drawing that may be helpful.
This is so helpful, thank you for sharing your knowledge with such clarity and generosity. I’m definitely going to do some practice using your photo. Greetings from Switzerland.
Thanks Amelina. All the best with your drawing. And you have amazing street scenes in Switzerland you can draw. And the art gallery in Zürich has some great artworks. 😀
a very useful tutorial and a beautiful drawing! may i ask, what kind of pen are you using and how do i find these kinds of pens? i'd like to gift one to my dad. thank you!
Hard to teach without talking, but perhaps my teaching and drawing styles are not the best match for you. I’m sure there are videos out there that would be better suited for you. 😀
How is this less popular than the artists that teaches on youtube but ends up need to buy their "classes"?? Thanks sir even though i just started drawing and doesn't understand deeply about the subject but it gives me some imagination for what i should be doing 🥰🤍
Thank you for showing me another way to look at things or shifting my perspective. I thought I would never understand and now I truly do. Thank you
It always starts with how we think. Have fun with it. 😀
It DID demystify the complexity of the scene. GREAT video, just what I needed. Thanks! David, West Virginia, USA.

Tu dices que hay que "traducir" lo que se ve en la realidad, al papel y aquí lo explicas muy bien, gracias, saludos.
It’s certainly helped me understand the drawing process more. 😀

Great to hear. Thanks 😀
I'm very eager to give this one a try. I usually end up adding too much detail and failing at depth effect. Thanks for those wonderful tips!!
Have fun Paco. My pleasure. 😀

Thank you. I use COPIC Multiliners, both the disposable and the refillable ones. (The 0.2 mm one is only available as refillable). 😀
Thank you, well done. Question; if the emphasis is on the foreground should the more distant plants/flowers be lighter in tone/value to reflect that?
In my mind, yes. If I were painting this I would do that, as well as reduce colour brightness. 😀
I must see a Client in 3 minutes but I can't stop watching. 😂
Haha. What can I say. ?!😀
Where do I find your community page ,please?
On a mobile go to my channel homepage and scroll the horizontal ribbon menu till you see the word COMMUNITY 😀

What sort of _psychopath_ draws a streetscape with no cats or suave cartoon dogs?
There’s not much actual street either!😉
Thanks!
Always a pleasure…🫶🏼
That’s really kind. Much appreciated Joni. 😀
