I sure do Joey and Thank you so very much. We have a rail yard close to my work and the ugly cars they have in between the Locomotive and tankers I wonder how they even run. Yes, I'm feeling much better but it's still hard for me to sleep and that's a bummer. Hope that changes soon.🤷 Thanks again I just love the car.! BIG TWO👍👍
That is such an awesome gift from Joey!! So cool!! It looks fantastic behind that beautiful steamer! So glad to hear you’re feeling better Mark!! Great run! 🚂😎
Wow Mark! What a fantastic gift from Joey! He really did a beautiful job on the weathering and the customization. Great run session, glad you’re feeling better. Good luck with the house hunting! I hope you find something with a massive amount of space so that you can do everything you want. Take care Mark! Frank
It sure is Frank. Joey does beautiful work and I really love how it turned out. I do wish I could sleep better but all and all I feel pretty good after a pretty serious surgery. I really do hope I can get out of the apartment I'm in but houses are still pretty high in price so I'm keeping my hopes up? Have a great Independence Day Holiday.!
Thanks Bob.! It sure was nice of Joey for sure. 2716 was my first Command Control Locomotive and for a Lion Chief it has a lot of nice features like the fire box glow.
You are very welcome.👍 Someone told me about crush cars a few years ago and now I notice them on the real railroads. Usually its a beat up old hopper.! 😊
Good to hear you are feeling better Mark! Very nice of Joey to paint up that box car for Mark's Lionel Trains. If you choose to participate later this year, that car would look really good in your Bill B.'s Holiday Box Car Challenge video. I bet Joey would agree! Bill B.
That is really nice gift from Joey. It fits right in with all the grafitti cars of today. Talking about rust junky cars, I remember going by the Milwaukee Road Bensenville yard, on Green/Franklin, around the end of the Milwaukee Road era. They had a lot of junk looking cars and locomotives stored there. Interesting to hear all the radio chatter. Seems odd since those days almost everything was done via train orders. Glad to hear you are doing better, Mark.
I sure was nice of Joey. I have been working out by the airport since the 80s and only remember the Bensenville yard being run by Soo Line. I do seem to remember a few old passenger cars and maybe a Caboose off Green St. The area has really changed since CP rail took over. I have a scanner and they still use quite a bit of two way radio communications to this day. Thanks for watching and the interesting comment.!😊
There. Now you see what happens when you park an unattended railcar in the "hood" overnight? Shameful, just shameful! Just kidding Mark! That's quite a gift and I can say from my modeling experience from decades ago it's a LOT harder to model a mess or a wreck than it is to model something pristine! A lot of work went into that boxcar and it shows! Thanks for sharing it with us, and I'm glad to hear you're getting better! You take care, OK? PS: I forgot to mention since that boxcar's marked Chesterfield Michigan it's definately American made. Lionels were produced in Michigan from 1970 to 2000 before production was shifted overseas.
Good to know about where it was made Wayne 👍🏻 LOL in the hood.!😂 I work close to a few rail yards and my goodness they sure do find the ugliest beat up rail cars for the tanker trains. I almost have to wonder how they are even still running. Joey sure did great work on that box car and I just love it.! I’m feeling pretty good but wish I could get better sleep and hope that improves very soon. Thanks for your awesome comment and have a great Independence Day holiday.!😊
@@markslioneltrains Thanks Mark! Just an added bit of railroad lore concerning those beat-up railcars you mentioned. Federal rail rules forbid interchange of railcars over 40 years old (not sure why) but if those cars never leave home rails then the railroads that own them can run them as long as they like. Certainly the reason you see the oldest nastiest cars used as "buffers" in tank trains. Hey, you have a great Independence Day too!
Hi Mark! I really like it when you open up packages on camera. It makes me feel like I'm part of the excitement. What a wonderful gift. What a great friend you have just send you something that personal for your layout. What a great advertisement with your name on the side of a boxcar. Love your layout Mark. I really enjoy your videos. Keep them coming and I like it when you explain engines and cars where they came from when did they run in history. Hope you're feeling better and looking forward to your next video! Great job!😊👍
