I think he asked on purpose so she could say that response of setting the record that she's not dropping explicits, additionally she does talk to her supposed ex lover and herself throughout the song, so he could've been referring to that as well.
The Imogen influences are what keep me listening. Your harmonies are my favourite part of your songs. You have a wonderful voice for bringing out that sort of emotional soul-searching feeling.
This interview is so vulnerable and honest. Im not even half way and I love it so much already. Zach is so good and prompting deep conversation whilst being so respectful edit: When I made this comment it was when she was talking about her mum and the song bye. It definitely became a lot more lighthearted later on. I also know that deep topics weren't really covered as she tends to change the topic (I think she also cant say too much bc of wicked promo). She's definitely had interviews in the past that are far more vulnerable. I just think that even coming out to do interviews is putting herself in quite a vulnerable state. When Zach talks to Ariana about her music it makes the fans interpretations on the albums feel seen. This album will always have a special place in my heart, it’s universal like thank you next, you can always take parts of it and project it on your own, it has vocals like in yours truly or sweetener, it has the sass of dangerous woman, and the coziness pov and universal as said like my everything. The Imogen influences are what keep me listening. Your harmonies are my favourite part of your songs. You have a wonderful voice for bringing out that sort of emotional soul-searching feeling.

edit: When I made this comment it was when she was talking about her mum and the song bye. It definitely became a lot more lighthearted later on. I also know that deep topics weren't really covered as she tends to change the topic (I think she also cant say too much bc of wicked promo). She's definitely had interviews in the past that are far more vulnerable. I just think that even coming out to do interviews is putting herself in quite a vulnerable state. Im just glad she has come out and done all these performance, interviews (and the red carpet for the oscars !?) I really didnt think she would do a lot of these things again.

to be a fan of Ariana for as long as i can remember and to hear her vocal ability’s consistently exceed what was thought possible before is so refreshing. her consciousness is so radiant in how she speaks and her aura, you can truly tell she has inner peace. she is present, comfortable in herself, she’s accepted herself fully and unconditionally. i think this album showcases that and to hear her speak of spirituality (acceptance of the good and bad as one goodness) as an inspiration for the album is just freaking gorgeous. truly a pure soul and i’m proud to have seen her grow in the most beautiful way.
I wonder who the vocal coaches were that helped shape her voice because they could totally help me. But not if it makes me become some sort of succubus of satan. Lmfao her whistle tones are goregous, her voice is that of an Angel but her lyrics are from hell.

I’ve been a hardcore fan since 2012 & The past few days have been so overwhelming. The album, the music video, SNL and seeing this vulnerable Interview…. I love Zach Sangs interviews with Ari cause he always gets the deeper meaning behind stuff and you can tell that hes been there for a long time. When Zach talks to Ariana about her music it makes the fans interpretations on the albums feel seen. This album will always have a special place in my heart, it’s universal like thank you next, you can always take parts of it and project it on your own, it has vocals like in yours truly or sweetener, it has the sass of dangerous woman, and the coziness pov and universal as said like my everything.
I hope to see her and hear her (so beautifully evolved) voice one day live. 🫶🏽

She is so concerned about protecting her private life and also the life of the person she wrote about. I mean we all know it’s about her ex husband but she doesn’t want to speak publicly about him. I get her emotional aspect behind the album. Cried so much even though those feeling for me have long passed. She 100% loved him but it seems like they just weren’t compatible as they once thought and it was just that simple. It hurts her. You can see it in her body language.
