My opinion and some time stamps: + trees look great and are overall positioned well + track has the right flow in general + gras looks really good + marshal places along the track are very accurate + most signs are exactly in the right spot - side lines are unnecessarily wavy and uneven (0:09, 1:58, 3:49, 5:04, 5:36) - curbs sometimes have not the right size or shape (0:17, 0:54, 1:10, 2:30, 5:15, 5:58) - curbs also go sometimes not in a nice curve like they should - fences missing completely (3:25, 3:40, 6:21) - missing asphalt changes (1:53) important braking point - side lines are too bright and clean - asphalt texture looks strange, has weird little details that doesn't make sense - track side walls or hills wrong (1:26, 2:50, 3:40, 7:26) - gravel trap on the left wrong (1:57) - only a few graffiti on the track, a lot is missing - project cars logo instead of real billboard (5:15) - too many emergency and other vehicles that you not even see that much on a big event I read a comment from a dev lately, I think it was Ian Bell himself, that stated the track would be in a 0.5cm tolerance to the laser scan, but judge yourself. Would be great if this video and your comments bring SMS to fix the issues and make an even better Nordschleife!
Great comparison, Marcel, but i paid for PC2 roughly the same than for Nürburgring GP and Nordschleife in iRacing not counting the car or subscription-fee (i've no in the moment, so i can't drive). For me it seems SMS stitched the laserscann to their old Nordschleife-track. That's why the fences are often very wrong in distance and height even it would be easy to make it more accurate when you start from scratch. But you can race this track in the night with rain or on snow and don't see this anyway:D I don't care that much for trackside-objects and would more like to see the outlap-shortcut like in Raceroom and the layouts you get in Raceroom or AC. Instead of the AC-Tourist-layout i would like to have the trackday-layout, so you can start from the parking lot like on any pitbox and driving full laps. PS: Over 230 days of rain on the Nordschleife in average per year. A simulation without rain is not a simulation on this track.
+Leynad Jee Sure in iR it's way too expensive, the main thing why I'm a bit mad with this track is that we get teased and promised a laserscan with 0.5cm accuracy and then you drive there and doesn't feel "home" at all. If SMS wouldn't be so "we are the best and better than anyone before" it would easier to be okay with the track like it is. They are bragging with quality there, but for me it's lying in customers face in case of the Nordschleife. I too only drive pcars2s nordschleife in bad condition to not see the flaws :-D.
+Leynad Jee Trackside objects aside, side lines, curbs, some of the more important and obvious fences and asphalt changes should be fixed in the future. Otherwise would be very disappointing. Acs version was better out of the box and even that got some treatment over the years. But maybe we have to wait for pc3
For me the Nordschleife feels so much better in pCars 2 than in any other title, due to the tyre-model, the awesome SimVibe-effects, great cars and the higher physics-rate (600 Hz), it spoiled me. Lap times are probably the most accurate as well from what i experienced and saw on the leaderboards. I care more for this stuff.
Looks like it's not laser scanned, I think the worst is at 6:52, the run off is way further than it is in real life that it becomes cosmetic.. always end up on the grass here in PC2 because it's in the wrong place
It's a shame the in-vehicle camera was not available when you recorded this PC2 footage as you'd be able to get it looking even closer to your onboard footage.
Super vos videos de comparaison! Il me semble que dans PC2 c'est une caterham 620r et je crois que vous n'êtes pas à fond avec la caterham. La westfield est top!😁 et le pilote aussi👍
Marcel, I am obsessed with the Assetto Corsa version - and drive it most nights on the online servers. So I have always had the opinion, that the PC2 version, feels likes two lanes (too narrow?) compared to the Assetto version. But of course, I have never driven it in real life, being situated here in Australia. Would you consider doing the same thing with Assetto Corsa, or maybe even the three of them together, if there is a suitable car - or what is your opinion of the Assetto version, compared to the PC2 version, or the real-life one please?
+SingleRacer The width of the track is correct in pc2. Maybe i will do another video with other sims but i have already one with ac in mixed reality. But not in one continuous go and with the quality like here
Thanks Marcel - but can I just clarify then to you, as someone who actually HAS driven the track in real life. Then is the PC2 version the more accurate version when comparing it to the real-life track, compared to Assetto Corsa's version, when comparing it to real-life. Or do you feel that the AC version is pretty accurate as well?
Marcel, thankyou so much for taking the time to answer that for me - as you have raced on it personally - so for me, when I was watching your brilliant SPLIT video. For most of the time the top "Real Life" video made me feel like I was actually watching the AC VERSION......................... thanks.
Great video I don’t have the patience you do I felt the flow of the track was just as good as assetto,I racing, and race room my only gripes are the white lines and track edges seem odd compared with above mentioned it’s a massive leap from p cars 1 I always remember being frustrated at 3.11 as they messed up the “s” but it’s fine in pc2 now.
+Rover Boy The white lines, curbs and missing things like asphalt changes and fences throw me out of the experience because I know the real track quite well
Marcel Pfister I have watched many of your videos great ones at that I know how passionate you are I would love to vist the Nürburgring myself I will have be nice to my boss as he is a regular at the ring he’s got some good videos of himself in his caterham 2.0 duratec
Very good comparison and great analyze. Slightly Studios has done a beautiful and accurate game, Nordschleife is gorgeous in Project Cars 2! In Oculus Rift it takes another dimension for a race simulator.
I was very enthousiast in my last comment ^^ For the explanation, I drove last week in Nordschleife with Project Cars 2 and after many hours in Assetto Corsa on the same track, it was a pleasure to see much more details on the track, the sense of "presence" was better. But I agree with you, there are mistakes and you have found a lot! Finally Assetto Corsa seems to be the most faithful, the most raw to the original (precision of the track, positions of fences, main scenery...) but Project Cars 2 is more artistic for the vast majority of people.

Yes the real car above is mine, it's a Westfield SE and I have more videos of it in this playlist: th-cam.com/video/yGGrdl5NR3g/w-d-xo.html

Wow that's so dope!
some of the comments here make me lose faith in simracing
compare oversteering in real life to pc2, thats the sole reason i wont ever touch that game again.
Very difficult to capture in a video
Need for Speed Shift 4

I'm not so impressed with the Nordschleife as you can see with the negative points in my first comments
Val S you are wrong!
