Absolutely. People I talk to about typing on that piece of slightly flexing metal say that it's so weird to switch back that they effectively can't because of how alienated their fingers are. Personally, I'm going to stick to my fucking box navies. They don't make me want to snap my fingers off just by looking at it. (Both the My First Keyboard and the Apple Butterfly "keyboard")

Even an AEK2 with cream damped Alps would be a massive improvement. (Honestly, even the rubber-dome boards from the early G3s would be better than the stupid buttfly thing, but...)

I don't know any children dumb enough to eat food at a computer The dumbest thing I ever did is I accidentally dropped a whole bottle of Water on an old laptop when I was about 9 or 10, that led to an upgrade and me never drinking water at a laptop ever again.

You hit the nail on the head about the alphabetical layout. My son had his first computer when he was 4 years old and has used a QWERTY keyboard for 2 years now. He can type on this with superb accuracy and besides, you learn the alphabet really easy through ABC songs etc. It's far superior giving a QWERTY to a child than it would be this.
I haven't even watched the video yet and my first thought was "What an idiotic layout! Way to teach a child something it will have to cumbersomely relearn like a year later..." That's before going into missing keys and so on...

Do you plan out your swears beforehand, or are you just so naturally talented at coming up with colourful language on the fly? I suspect the former because of the alliteration in some of them, but if it's the latter, I'm genuinely very impressed.
You forget that WASD came about by remapping the keys on games of the time. (I was actually a fan of ESDF so that my pinky got a few keys.) So yes, it would have been appropriate to remap all the keys for your game. It would also have been interesting to totally remap the keys to a 3-row qwerty layout to test this with your normal typing ability.
When I were a lad, we didn't even have Windows, we had DOS. I learned how to use that when I was three and a half on an x86 PC with an IBM Model M. I couldn't read or write, but I sure as hell knew how to play Commander Keen on my dad's PC. If I had this keyboard, my ability to type would have been permanently crippled.

I have a keyboard without a print screen button but i needed one for some homework so i busted out trhe good old glove pie and made myself a print screen out of the useless F12
I'll assume this keyboard works like a regular keyboard, where they've moved around the scancodes. So if you use the German layout, the letters would instead end like "U V W X Z Y" due to it being QWERTZ instead, and no access to Ä Ö Ü. - You could also switch to the Dvorak layout and actually get access to ' , . ; for some punctuation, but then you have to stop using W V Z S. - The French layout will make the caps lock work for the number row too, so you can get access to & é " ' ( - è _ ç à but the alphabet will instead go: "Q B C D E ... O P A R S ... U V Z X Y W, and M is replaced with ,
Basically this was the precursor to the plank keyboard, ortholinear with around 50 buttons! (and there's even a piezo speaker!) Anyway they managed to have 4 more buttons but still lack all modifiers and punctuations (even shift + number ones!), while making it probably bigger than a TKL! Seriously, the "keys" are a lot bigger and require a lot of force to press, not something that you would expect on a keyboard designed for kids that as far as I know have smaller and weaker hands!
Colour scheme reminds me of a Texas Instruments Speak & Spell, like what E.T. nicked from Elliot to phone home back in the day... ...that you should definitely review next! ;-)

you have to get use to it a bit but it works a lot better.
One of my personal favorite keyboards! I use this all the time, especially for hardcore games such as papas pizzeria and Run 3.

My first board was a Model M. I loved it
I could actually tell what was being typed at the end for once, lol.
I do feel that I can say it would be saner and quicker to just use an on screen keyboard and just _click_ all the letters into place.
