- Capt. Wayne Davis, Larry Higgins and some friends fish Port Mansfield after a cold front during the full moon period! Using all different bait sizes from our Big K down to an unreleased darter bait by Mansfield Knockers, they do what it takes to land tag-able trout and solid redfish.

hey kwigglers! love the vid. was at the houston fishing show and ya'll recommended the color Punch MF Cool for the ball tail. Took it out for a test run this past weekend. We weren't catching nothing. Got into an argument with my bf on where to fish and my nagging got him to go where the clear water met the dirty water. I fished the dirty side with the Punch MF Cool ball tail and guess who didn't get skunked? Got me some trout. lol I remember in your videos about the winter bite. I had never experienced that so that was something new. I ended up killing the first trout that i got because i hadn't realized the trout was on. it felt like a flounder and so i counted 15 before reeling in. by that time he had swallowed the weedless hook hard. it was stuck in the gills, no getting it out. suffice to say, we had trout for dinner. changed my rig to a jig head and when i would feel very slight tug, almost like i got stuck in oyster shell, i reeled it in to find trout. jig head made it much easier to catch and release. thanks again for the vid about with the winter bite and thanks for the recommendation on color.

Captain Wayne hasn’t actually recaptured one of his own fish. But there’s been several recaptures. However, capt wayne did find one dead following the devastating freeze of 2021.
More government regulations wait for the kicker when things get better will go back to the old limit bag limit of red's 3 for over 20 yrs !!!!!!
