Personally I’m not a fan of her standup but I think her sketch comedy is genius. No matter how much of the writing is her personally or the team that she put together, both abilities require talent, and I find that the sketches combine observational comedy with surrealist nonsense in a brilliant way. Now whether she got caught out genuinely copying some of someone’s jokes or not doesn’t warrant this level of hatred, but there’s a vile misogynistic streak to certain internet demographics who love to seize the opportunity to group-hate high-profile women. Once the ball starts rolling they jump on the bandwagon. It’s a shame but the internet is a chaotic place and the trolls like to create a vitriolic atmosphere because it helps them breed. Although apparently cat videos are more watched than pornography, which gives me some hope for humanity. 🌞
