If you aren't intimately familiar with the original source, look it up and have a listen. The exposition that Stone wrote for this song is amazing because it is much more musically complex than the source material but also hangs together with it in theme and style. This makes returning to the main theme in the recapitulation that much more rewarding because there isn't any kind of break or seam to interrupt the forward drive of the song. Masterfully done, Mr McKnuckle! The amount of creativity and work that went into this is apparent.
Every few years I "re-discover" this cannel and remember why I liked it so much, hell I have downloaded songs and put them in my devices to listen, sadly Spotify has spoiled us with music streaming so I just don´t listen to his tunes as much as I should.
Those strings starting at 2:30 give me CHILLS, man. This is by far one of my favorite remixes you've done, Stone. Absolutely stellar job, even if this comment is coming in at 7 years late.
This song was my introduction to your work, a number of months ago. Since then, I've listened to quite a few of your tracks. I love your work, Stone, please keep up the awesome work!
I hate to say it, I never made it to Area 7 as a child. And no, I wasn't allowed to keep the NES on. Kids today will never know the struggle of no save states.
@@SimuLord I saw a Blaster Master remake on Steam called "Blaster Master Zero" Seems they made a series spanning three games. Looks interesting. But, got to finish Subnautica on hard-core mode first.
Hey stone just wanted to say this is my fav song of all time and I've been listening to it on and off for like the past 5 years. Idk how you did it but you created the perfect song with this one
The solo's actually in there, at 2.30, it's just in half-time and with a few extra notes thrown in here and there. I guess it's not really a solo anymore though, sorry. :>
This track heavily reminds me of _F-Zero_. Specifically the later games. And that is a very, _very_ good thing, because I *love* those soundtracks. Very nice remix!
Strange little masterpiece I have stumbled upon... I guess the only part I regret a bit is that I haven't heard the awesome solo of the area 7 theme...
After hearing this song quite a bit of times (I love it), felt the vibes from the old solo in this version too. So the good ol' badass 8-bit solo lives on in spirit. AWESOME JOB!
Love how they use this again for the final boss. Though I'm not sure which is harder, that boss or this remix. Hmmm....Better subscribe, for science....
Dude, your work is amazing. I would love to hear more megaman songs remixed, especially some from the X series as well as the Top Gear stage 1 theme. Just thinking about it makes my ears wiggle. xD
nah its cool... Still an incredible job of "almost remaking" the entire song... I love the scattered bits of the old song mixed with the high speed tempo and the multiple enjoyable sounds of the song itself! great job... quoting myslef. "Masterpiece"
I just recently checked up on those games. As someone old enough to have played the original on the NES, all I have to say about Zero: Yes, better graphics, weapons, and story. BUT! (And I'm pulling up my figurative suspenders here) Save states? A Map?? AND A DIRECTION INDICATOR??? Kids these days will never know the struggle! All we had was the pause button, and the hope thd NES didn't crash overnight!
@@tailgunner2 Heh. At least some of the boss fights can still be tough enough to be a problem those first few tries. Or try playing as Ekoro in Zero. Ugh. I don't know if it's me or if she's actually bad, but I know I'm terrible with her. At least there's extras to give the game some replay value outside of hair-pulling difficulty that we used to (and still do, depending on personal skill) have.
almost makes me want to program games again (to the end for once) and have you do the music again... almost. Still want to use twinkle snow ~ starry sky for something.

Imma play this for literally every boss fight in blaster master zero

This channel is underrated
Best remix of this game I even heard! Thank you very much.
Finally, someone who uses more than one goddamn instrument in a remix.
This is easily the best video game cover I have ever heard. Amazing
I know, this is 8 years late, but damn man! Area 7 was my favorite part of that game! You were slaying it! Props, dude.

Second one plays during the first two solos, starting at 0:54. The rhythm has been changed a little to sound better at this speed though :>

Listened so much this at school as a kid, still rocks to this day, thanks for this piece dude!
This is seriously amazing!

Omg.. This is so awesome. Area 1 + maybe some others (mainly1) like this would blow my mind.
Didn't play much Blaster Master, let alone enough to get this far, but I still know awesome metal when I hear it.

Maybe it's just me, but about half way through it starts to sound inspired by classic Night Wish. 10/10
Best! Remix! EVER!

Someone referred me to this "Stone Knuckle" dude and this remix. Effin' subscribed! lol.
I like!
What does everyone think of Blaster Master: Zero and Zero 2?
Not much apparently lol

This is a lot better than the remix they used in Blaster Master Overdrive. BMO was a great game but the music was lacking in some places.
+Thrifty032781 This arrange would fit poorly in the Blaster Master remake, but I agree that the soundtrack for that game is rather lacking.
THE BEST - TOP IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Incredible talent Just saying
Is dat a negative colored Fred you have there for your profile pic (blaster master fans will know who Fred is)
Hm? Both links work fine for me.
So fucking hype
You got my subscribe
lol this sounds more like Blaster Master X Ys OST! Really feeling some Ys vibes to this one. Do like! :)
Have you considered doing Area 6?
WOW
I want to use this music in a small game I (might) make for NON COMMERCIAL purposes. I see its ok from GktanS Dojo's comment.
Yes, that's perfectly alright.
How did NES music turn to this?
Broken link :(
We must keep the like counter at 666 xD
This remix is frikkin epic, this rocks!!!
It would've been better if it was the original chords of the Area 7 original.
Can you make this type of music but with original compsitions? I need for a job
Obviously yes, but I unfortunately don't have the time available to accept commissions at the moment.
@@StoneMcKnuckle U - u.. Oh deam it... I cant find your original creations, where is it?
@@StoneMcKnuckle Is probably that you can accept comision
a near future? At the end of this year, for example
@@raubt9962 I can't say for sure, but it's shouldn't be hard to check with me at that point :>
Is there any chance you'd be ok with me using this in a video montage of sorts? I'd happily link back to you.

Thanks! :D

Eee..... can i use this music in my game ? :D :D
For non-commercial purposes, sure.

Put it on speed 1.25
I have no idea if you have or haven't done this yet but..
Could you please make a Half Life Remix?
Half Life by Valve? Did that have any memorable music at all?
Yeah, Half Life from Valve. Preferably Half Life 2. It had some memorable music I mean the Valve intro music is memorable, yeah I see your point...
hahahaha dont put that when you drive 235 km vs s2000
