    I once challenged myself to beat the entire game without losing a single life a couple years back. I managed to do it, and I felt like it was a major accomplishment haha

      Only real problem are some of the final bosses, but the rest is kinda piece of cake, if you leveled up your gun. Still, congratulations my man! 💪🏻

    Uploader's Note: Man, Blaster Master. It fascinated me as a small kid with its music, frog intro sequence and the ability to leave the vehicle and walk around, but at the time upon first playing I didn't quite "get" that it was an adventure game; I was so used to just walking right and blowing shit up in most other NES games of the day that I didn't realize I had to actually explore to progress in the game. It wasn't until I got caught up with Metroid that I grasped the concept of an "adventure game", complete with 1-2+ hour quests and backtracking.
    I was never actually able to beat Blaster Master on my NES because my system had this habit of glitching and turning off on me if I had it on for over an hour, especially with this game and it lacking a save feature of any kind, so I was forced to come back to it over a decade and a half later with the advent of computer emulation and finally finished it. Not being able to save really hampered the game for me since my NES wouldn't stay on long enough for me to complete it, and it shared the same annoying trait that Metroid had; enemies getting cheap shots in just as you enter/exit some doors and being unable to dodge them. Still a beloved classic with all things considered.

      MaroonedOnEarth Preach, bro....those were the days: getting stuck in your favorite video game, and no Internet to show you what to do. :)

      I also loved this game as a kid. I never owned Metroid so this game was my first venture into the adventure genre. I was fortunate to not have the problem of the system shutting down, but I could never manage to get past lvl 5 as a kid. Stupid water world drove me crazy. Thanks for the upload!

    Sunsoft was one of the only companies to use the sample channel in their music... hence their awesome basslines.
    Trying to remember the TH-cam video I saw all about NSF Pulse 1, Pulse 2, Triangle, Noise and Samples... shit's interesting to say the least.

    • @HayTatsuko
      @HayTatsuko 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am a huge fan of Sunsoft's NES games exactly for this reason. They pushed the envelope on making awesome VGM with very limited hardware.

  • @micmacha

    That soundtrack was like half of the game's appeal, maybe even more; not to knock the work on graphics and level/enemy design, which were also very good.

  • @MistahJigglah
    @MistahJigglah 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Absolutely fantastic job on this cover,
    Totally did justice to Naoki Kodaka's (the composer) vision,
    from the "Let's Do This!" Feeling of the opening track to the whimsical quality of Area 5 and the menacing tone of Areas 4&7
    Easily my all around personal favorite NES soundtrack,
    And it's attached to a flawless game.
    Perfect level of difficulty for the NES's "Just Get Good" gameplay philosophy, that keeps you coming back again and again without throwing your controller through your TV.

  • @Aristowi
    @Aristowi 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I sucked at this game back in the day, so I just put the controller down and listened to this tune loop over and over, it rocks.

    Nice. Most video game music I typically prefer the original sound. I actually quite like this. Really keeps the original feel in tact while updating the instruments. At least for me it does.

      Daniel C Aw man if you love Vomitrons arrangements check out S.S.T., The Adventage, Retro Remix Revue, Metroid Metal, and Year 200X. There are awesome rock arrangements out there! ! The Gunstar Hero soundtrack for the GBA actually has an arrangement tune for the last track and it's really good. The One Ups have good stuff too but may be a little more laid back and somewhat jazzy. I was buying game arrangements on Amazon and came across most of the bands and they ALL very good. Crap I can't forget Taylor Davis (her stuff is really well done) and Daniel Tidwell.

    Brilliant fucking representations of some of the best memory music of my life. I know everyone's done Mega Man, but you would tear all those other covers to shreds. Do Mega Man 2 mixed with Mega Man 3, or one or the other. (selfish me: none of the other mega man games are nostalgic for me other than 2 and 3)

    How the hell did Vomitron not include stage 7 in this?? It's the best music in the game! Stage 4 has the weakest music in the game, but it's in here. I can't believe there is no stage 7 theme. Also, why are they all out of order?

    • @Dagbar666

    Well, maybe i'll give the soundtrack a listen tonight. The nostalgia factor won't be there because i never heard of Mega Man 5 when it came out, but rented 4 once. That's when Mega Man got too difficult for me. Loved the Skull Man theme and the opening and the menu page. Pharoah Man (name?) and Dust Man had good themes, too. I'll load my mp3 player with Mega Man 5 and put it on headphones.

  • @limegreensquid
    @limegreensquid 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Gave it a listen last night with some green help, and yah, Mega Man 5 is a very good soundtrack. That is one great thing about mega man music, most of it doesn't have to be nostalgic to be recognized as brilliant, energetic and just fun to listen to.

    Dude, where the hell is the music for level 7? Level seven and three had the most badass music in that game. You have level one twice, but stage 7 is there not at all.

    • @twosocks1976
      @twosocks1976 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Glitchy Glitch maybe, but it's about the worst music in the game. Definitely not worth hearing twice.

    • @twosocks1976
      @twosocks1976 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Glitchy Glitch I'll give you that. I found levels 1, 2, and 8 they have by far the most annoying music. I realized that with level 8, they were simply trying to make it feel creepy. But the music just came toward me as an irritation. Level seven I, on the other hand, along with level 3 which was probably my favorite of all the level music, could have really rocked if the game were updated and our modern technology for video gaming was used to make better music, so long as they stayed true to the original. I just thought that a metal remix of that stage would have been awesome.
