They don’t actually eat their mates that often. It’s a misconception generated from captive spiders observed in high-stress environments. The whole purpose of the gift is so she’ll be full and thus incapable of eating you.

I found this video by accident this morning (despite being a subscriber for 2 years now) and I've listened to it 3 times already. It's amazingly well voiced with a perfect blend of funny and cute.
BUT! "Where are you going master? I wish to breed" always makes me laugh. I love how the door immediately shuts and her muffled voice continues behind the door until the end of the video. It's just so perfect, especially since she's either a black widow or redback spider XD

Black widows when their underage of breeding a male will stab his penis into her abdomen and leave sperm to impregnate her when she is old enough. Even one who are old enough get blinded by Webs and get tied up by the males to breed with her when she can't move or see. One species actually destroys the females spider's vagina beyond healing and she won't be able to breed ever again. All spiders lay egg sacks and never parasitize another creature. Some spiders even carry their babies until they want to leave. A lot of people get spiders wrong, they aren't cruel they are just misunderstood.

Update: I have finished my hot pot meal, it was of great quality. It was miso soup with a side of beef strips to boil in the soup, as well as carrots. I also had sugar rock pear tea, it too was of satisfactory flavor. And now I have arrived home to finally watch a video that I believe will match the quality of the food I had just finished.
