Strolling into the web-filled halls of an old castle was an adventurer. Human, tall, bearing an eyepatch and cursed by a most unnatural affliction; he enters the castle with a grimace on his face, clutching the misshapen forearm which he’s bound in what webs he’s found, desperate to at the very least hide how disfigured he’s become since his adventure began. Each foot fall creates an echo that bounces off the walls and ceiling, lightly deafened by the ropes of pristine silk spanning all throughout the castle. Exhaustion contaminates his gaze. Afflicted with a petrifying curse of a seemingly incurable nature, he’s come in search of a sanctuary-one last hurrah in a career of adventure cut far too short for his liking.
Even now, he can feel every fiber in his arm, twisted and gnarled into a stone-like composition. His armour’s useless and this self-decided mission’s to be his last. What good would armour do a dying man with no ticket to anywhere but hell? Suicide-by-dungeon’s his only chance to see the pearly gates and even that’s beginning to look sketchy.
Ropes of sticky fabric becoming stuck on his body, he pushes onward, eyes burning with the drive to end it on his own terms. He continues to wrap the fibers around his stone-like arm in the vain hope he’ll find himself with less pain. All it does is tear away chunks of calcified epidermis away to leave jagged, uneven flesh of bone. It hurts more than before but at least he has something to hurt any attackers. Sadly it’s his good arm he’s going to lose to stone man’s disease but it’s better he did a man than a statue.
He keeps walking into the best of webs and weaves, ripping and cutting through them again and again until-with the loss of his grip-his machete flies free of his usable hand and he’s left with webbing now coming to restrain him in a mess of silky cocooning.
Before he can curse his luck, a girl’s voice reaches his ears and he’s of two minds: relief and cursing his luck even further. “She’s not real...just a ghost....I’m stuck here,” He thinks to himself with a scowl dwindling into a frown as he hears the clicking of something on stilt-like appendages. “...Not a ghost...A mimic, no a Changeling! Those are native to these parts....”
Her words break him from his musings as she demands what he promises to close his eyes. Reluctance settles into his heart before he concedes and closes his eyes, crossing his fingers outside of where he hopes she can see.
“What’s a changeling doing in an Ettercap nest? A prisoner, maybe?” He ponders as the clicking draws closer and the promise is broken, leaving him face-to-face with a pale woman’s upper half atop the body of a giant spider. All he can think is this, “Oh no, this is much worse!”
Her recoiling into the shadows and sniffling interrupt his assumptions about what could possibly happen next, as he sees the beautiful girl’s face stricken by tears. Confusion settles into his heart before the girl sets about cocooning him. This sensation of being caught in a netting isn’t new to him. Spiders, Pirates, trappers and the angry Druidic orc on occasion...these were where he’d become unphased by being turned like he were above an open fire on a spit. Being dragged wasn’t new, either-gnolls and bugbears saw fit to numbing him to this. Still, it’s that tear-stained face that leaves him confused.
Obvious questions leave him. “Are you going to eat me? Why are you here? How long have you been here?” These were what came first, overshadowing the sound of threads being torn at with the remaining bone which made up his forearm. Seemed he had enough muscle to move his fingers because he was digging a hole out of his restraints.
The efforts prove fruitless by the time he’s done being dragged and introductions come under way. Seersha the Drider meets Charlamaine the Dying and again he asks the question about being eaten.
Her sense of being pressured brings her to go for his shoulder, enough of a sensitive spot to make him squirm and continue digging out of his restraints. Just before she can pull away to cry more, he breaks free and pulls her head to his chest, bony hand doing him no favors in the city...but here’s a new opportunity as he coos softly, blindfolded and ready for imminent death to take him.
Why does this read like a Destiny 2 lore tab.

I’m fairly new to your channel, and I’m not sure if you’ve done this before, but I feel like this shy driver series deserves to be the first to have a season 2! The character is so kind, and it makes me extremely emotional whenever I listen to her back story in this audio.
Every time the drider moves I get so paranoid and I like spiders dark souls and over games have ruined me 😂

Part 2 was a hard listen... To be faced with the pain of someone I would have once called "Monster" And know my kind caused it, and she was right not to trust me. Those mournful cries cut deep :( I really wish her the best
