- First song - "Only Remembered"
Second song - "Only Remembered (Reprise)"
Arranged by J. Tams and H. Brough.
Performed by the cast of the National Theatre of Great Britain's production of War Horse
The reprise at the end with the fallen soldiers in the shadows and the family seeing not their little boy, but a soldier and his horse. Such a powerful ending to a fantastic show.
It was absolutely incredible, I was actually heart broken by it.
We should never forget the men and the horses who gave their lives
Daniel Carter I am sure you make your mother very proud.
Daniel Carter Go and be a troll somewhere else honey. I can't communicate with idiots
Daniel Carter Grow up. You are a low life Troll and do us a favour and blank off.
Daniel Carter
The wonderful voice of Tim Van Eyken.....
This song still gives me chills. It's beautiful as it's heartbreaking.
Saw it twice. The best of the best. Our local church used this as the entry hymn for the last Rembrance Day service.👍
I saw this in the New London Theatre in the West end.
I was so moved.
One of the nest decisions of my life so far it was :3
Saw the show tonight and was moved to tears on many occasions. I cannot praise it enough x
RIP MOM AND DAD! ALWAYS REMEMBERED AND LOVED DEEPLY. WHEN THAT TIME COMES, WE WILL SURELY MEET AGAIN TO PART NO MORE.
Lucky enough to have seen this at Nottingham. I will never forget!
They shall not grow old, that are left grow old, age shall not weary them, Nor condemn. As the sun rises in the morning, we shall remember them. Rest in peace dearest relations, and those on all sides bravely fought, I salute you all in heaven, and those few that are left. Glory has come to thee...
easily the best show I've ever seen
Actually love this play so much!!! Definitely my favourite theatre production ever!!
got it going round in my head ;-D
I've seen this play twice and it kills me every time
Saw this is London recently, loved it. Spent most of the show telling my little brother when a gun was gonna be fired, but got invited backstage afterwards and went up to the lighting box with the technicians.
Saw this 2 days back. Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you for sharing this magnificent song, Gary Silliker. I would like to thank all of our Canadian Soldiers who have lost their lives, and all the Canadian Soldiers who are still fighting to protect our freedom..God Bless each and everyone of you!
This is such a beautiful show. It's hard to believe theater can be this magical.
It is very important to remember all of the people who died in the war
Lest We Forget
We Shall Remember them who gave their lives for freedom
The accent are so spot on I went to see them at the orpheum in Memphis Tennessee It was beyond amazing
So lucky to have been able to see its last show today front row seat was amazing such a beautiful show
Same
Faded away like the stars in the morning,
Losing their light in the glorious sun-
Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling?
Only remembered for what we have done.
Only remembered, only remembered,
Only remembered for what we have done;
Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling?
Only remembered for what we have done.
Horses and men, ploughshares and traces,
The line on the land and the paths of the sun.
Season by season we mark nature's graces.
Only remembered for what we have done.
Only remembered, only remembered,
Only remembered for what we have done;
Season by season we mark nature's graces.
Only remembered for what we have done.
Only the truth that in life we have spoken,
Only the seed that in life we have sown;
These will pass onwards - when we are forgotten,
Only remembered for what we have done.
Who’ll sing the anthem and who will tell the story?
Will the line hold? Will it scatter and run?
Shall we at last be united in glory?
Only remembered for what we have done
Only remembered only remembered
Only remembered for what we have done
Shall we at last be united in glory?
Only remembered for what we have done
Only remembered for what we have done
Good work man!
the show came to my theater bout 2 years ago everytime i lisyen to the second half of this song im reminded of the final scene with joey slowly heading toward the boys family as the mom cries out its just a man and his horse.
trully great production.
can't believe they closed it down, a favorite of mine.
One of my absolute favourite shows.
This play probably has my favorite ending I've ever seen, and the use of this song puts it over the edge.
Saw this tuesday it was such a beautiful performance
I am not a great theatre fan but this show at the New London last weekend and it was absolutely fantastic. Love this song and must learn it.
Seen it today in Antwerp, I was amazed on how well this was done, it was the first time in years since I went to a musical, I was speechless by this one
just saw this in winnipeg last night. first ever performance ive seen in theatre. Very good show.
This heart rendering song featured in the brilliant stage play , The Big Picnic , a brilliant theatre production about The Glasgow Battalions during the first World War back in the early 80s. Scottish folk singer , Rod Paterson , sang this song at the end of the very moving play. His version remains my favourite . It's on TH-cam.
My favorite show
I went and saw this last night it was amazing and so touching :) loved it :)
I have say it this week in Holland (Groningen) and it was AMAZING!!!!!!
I saw it in Holland last week and it was so great!

We should never forget
I saw this last night. It was incredible.
very moving song
after watching the play and having to go through a terrible break up this makes me cry
Nice and beautiful
in englisch is it beautiful like in dutch I got still tears in my eyes
And I have got myself the real life Joey...same size as the puppet...and he's a Clydesdale...
I saw this last Saturday. It was so moving but also full of humor in some parts c: The gunshots did scare me... But they also sort of gave the war some of the atmosphere it must of had in real life. And Joey was awesome! So was Topthorn- his death was so moving ;~; Better than the movie in my opinion- but that's just my opinion, don't start a war D: Anyone who hasn't seen it definitely should!
saw it yesterday in Rotterdam. It was amazing though I cannot understand Dutch LOL
Saw it in Groningen last week. Great musical! I just hope I can find the Dutch songs somewhere.
ik hoop het ook! jaar geleden dat ik ben gegaan (2e keer half jaar geleden) en wil het zooo graag vinden. ik dacht dat ze het wel ergens zouden plaatsen aangezien de show nergens meer re zien is in nederland
