Ive been looking to get back into yugioh for a while now and ive had my eye on a couple different semi-meta archetypes. Ghoti being at the top of that list. This was super informative and now im even more pumped to get back to dueling. Cant wait for your deck tech video!
I have been playing this deck since release. The play style and art is so cool! I do feel like the creators didn’t have a clear vision with card design sometimes… like why is Eanoc so bad, why is Zep not a quick effect, why can’t Keaf be a tuner for extending with Leafish, and WTH is Goulglim trying to do haha. A lot of small changes could have made this deck so much better!
There is a really funny combo for the Runick Ghoti variant that plays Cupid Pitch: Against any light or dark deck you can side in Bystial Druisworm, if you open it plus Hop Ear Squadron (wich the deck plays anyways) that equels a Baron plus the Druisworm send to GY or a Raigeki (White Aura Whale) during their first turn (Druisworm and Squadron into Accel Stardust, its effect to summon Squadron back, then Sturdust and then use both for Baron). Is it good, consistant and worth the deck space? Not at all! But it sure as hell is funny if it happens^^
I feel that the quem/ecclesia/golden swoswo works better as a synchro enabling package in the runick variant, means you're more likely to end on disruption (baronne/chengying) turn 1, alongside prepping banished materials for next turn. Fish lamp is a great level 4 synchro alternative as well
phantom I'm waiting for the ghoti runick list + combo lines vids I think this deck rn has a lot of potential and against fire king, depending by which versione the opponent is playing, it has a good matchups
The combo you showed dosn't work with Supay Dustwalker, neather does it with the Earthbound cards since you won't have a Ghoti tuner in grave to banish. So you either need an additional way to get to Shif/Paces, already have it in hand or your end bord and combo on your opponents turn will be a lot weeker.
shh dont tell anyone the guu. Normal Summon Mermaid Shark, Add Abyss Shark. Summon Abyss Shark search Lifeless Leaffish. Link into Abyss Keeper. Abyss Keeper effect to summon Lifeless Leaffish and then dump Shif. Use shif to banish itself. Another cool combo: White Stingray discard Nimble Angler effect summon 2 Nimble Beavers. Link 1 beaver and White stingray into Marincess Coral Anemone. Use her effect to reborn White Stingray and use his effect to make him a tuner. Synch into Ariopos. I have more guu but Ill leave you with these 2 for now.

yeah the most annoying part is that there are no in-archetype starters. It's like they left the players to figure it out.
guoglim is almost useless, in some scenarios can work, crazy card.

If the TCG follows what Master Duel did and unbans the Rulers, then I think Tidal would be pretty strong in this deck as well.
