    • @firstlast-wg2on
      @firstlast-wg2on ปีที่แล้ว +24

@@SilasC it’s different for everyone, for me it takes like a week or two to get to a pike, I’ve been on and off for a long time, and I’d say I’m in the mediocre range for flexibility, I’m not super bendy, but I’m not super stiff either. Best thing to do is just stick to it, the most progress happens early anyways so touching the floor with your palms will come quickly

I have like zero flexibility now a days cause of health problems and I have just recently changed a lot of things in my life so my next goal is to dedicate time to getting my body healthy and in shape again. This looks slow and simple enough and I like that I can take it slow and try to build up to it if I need to. Most things for health and flexibility are hard for me and really intense but you show simple things I can try and at whatever pace I need it to be so thank u for the tips

David, I do not know what magic elixir you put in this exercise but I swear this morning I could hardly palm the floor and I was just now able to hold a proper split for a full 30 seconds. I’m rather flexible, but a bit stand-off-ish with such a big milestone. This trick gave me enough stretch to hug my legs, giving me the confidence to pull through. I’ve tried actively for about 10 months to work up the courage, using a lot of tutorials which felt excessively painful. I love your encouraging attitude, it makes a total stranger incredibly motivated :)

can you please do a video on how people who are seriously overweight can start to stretch and become more flexible? I have a lot of weight to lose and a lot of the mainstream exercises are too difficult for me and I need a workout that will help me increase my flexibility, my range of motion and also help me burn calories and fat. I need something that's low impact basically.

What a person eats affects how much inflammation you have. If you have excess body fat as you say, you have likely Insulin resistance, or also Metabolic Disease. This affects nerves, increase neuropathy in the body.
Walking is always the first step with exercise. Start slower, as injury will set you back further. Ligaments and tendons take a long time to heal. By diet, I don’t mean restricting calories.
Instead, what and when you eat and drink is important.
The government diets don’t work in the long run… they mess with the metabolism and leave you ravenous. No diet pills either… those are dangerous.
I would not take medications like statins as they worsen blood sugar (T2D), cause muscle rhabdomyolysis, dementia, Parkinson’s and a whole host of other side effects.
Excess carbohydrates and processed foods and processed seed oils, processed drinks including juices, are usually the problem as they increase cravings and addiction in the brain.
Food manufacturers create food products designed you get you addicted that you will keep buying them… very manipulative. There are 70-100+ words with mean sugar now. On needs to learn to read ingredient lists. Even sour cream has corn starch added. Sucralose will spike blood sugar.
If you have hypothyroidism, that might make the journey slower, until you find a doctor who knows what they are doing… most don’t.
      Focus on overall health first.
Dr. Ken D. Berry has lots of informational videos that explain things simply so you understand how the human body will benefit from things you do, and don’t do…. and why.
Remember, the ‘calories in and calories out’ has long been disproven.
Don’t get sucked in by people selling a product… as they profit.$$$

I am 5'6 and was about 280lbs of fat. Very little muscle, practically none. I started doing o-mad(one meal a day) for dinner and I've been losing weight like crazy. I was a size 40 waist and XXL shirt size pushing 3XL. I'm now fitting into XL "regular fit" non stretch flannels. My pant size is down to a comfortable 36Waist. I started to use resistance bands with wall mounts (Bob and Brad resistance bands) and I've put on some lean muscle all over my body.
My knees and ankles used to hurt for no apparent reason. I have very few days if ever at this point to get aches and pains. My hips rarely hurt and my lower back pain has lessened.
I started getting used to flexing my stomach and glutes when lifting/holding something. I think this has played a really big role in my lower back feeling better.
I don't know how much I weigh right now. If I had to say, around 210-200lbs. So I've lost about 70-80lbs in 10 months.

This bending the knee for a deeper stretch has been amazing! I have rods and lots of other junk on my lumbar vertebrae, so I've not been able to bend at the waist since it was shattered in and accident at 16, a very.... very😳 long time ago. But, stretching is so key for me and helping stay loose helps my low back pain. I have been able to put my palms flat on the floor a long time, back is forced straight, but I could feel I needed more, and bending my knee has given me a whole new deep stretch and I know it sounds lame to be excited about a stretch... but, anything I can do to ease even a small bit of this pain is something I am SO thankful for!!
