Yes, so easy when it is shown being installed on a brand new track. If you had a brand new track, you wouldn't use this. Show a video of the cover being installed on a warped/deformed track. That is when you would use this and that is when you would run into difficulties installing it.

Worked for me, my slider no longer sounds like a bad thunderstorm. Thanks!
FYI used the mini cap, track is 20+yes old. Used block of wood and hammer after cleaning.

My door opening is 10'. I couldn't find a supplier to sell a track cover in this length. How do I join two pieces of cover together to ensure a smooth transition?

    Greetings,
Will either the large or small track work? Mine is an old 1984 model. My preference is go with the larger size as the old track is somewhat mushroomed.
    Thanks
    Vinny

Both the small and large track covers may fit over your existing tack. However, using a large track cover over a small track may create a clearance issue due to the increase in height. It will depend more on the door than the track. If you aren't sure if you have the clearance, you may want to err on the side of caution and go with the smaller track

Works as advertised! 37 year old door track was pretty gouged up. New Swisco track cover and door wheels (Amazon) had it running good as new. The track cover sits a little loose in the heavily worn spots so I may remove it and back it with RTV, but I'll leave it as is and see what happens. Thanks for a decent product!

I have a 6-ft Anderson sliding door from 1989 I'm looking for a product to repair the worn track for the screen door (upper and lower). Do you have track covers for an Anderson screen door? If so please provide part numbers. Thank you very much!!

Unfortunately, the track covers we offer are intended for use with a glass sliding door. The tracks for the sliding door are a bit too small for the track covers shown in this video.

You showed two different options for a track cover. Is there a difference as to which one you should use and why?

    • @SWISCO
      @SWISCO  4 ปีที่แล้ว

It would depend on the dimensions of your current track! You can view the dimensions by clicking the links in the description.

If I have a 3 panel sliding glass door (9 feet of track), what's the best way to seam them? Do you have a video on this?

Mine is coming up off the tract. Can I use JB weld?

    • @deanscreens

It's probably coming up from the ends.
I've held ends in place by using 2 pair of #6 1/2in self-drilling screws on either end of the track cover (using my impact drill). You can't screw into the cover but you can set the screws close enough on either side so that the screw head touches or "bites" into the cover -- thus holding it in place. Set one screw "inside" -- the other "outside" -- NOT ON TOP OF -- BUT EITHER SIDE OF THE COVER! Do this at both ends.
Make sure the placement of the screws won't interfere with the door rollers. How? Before removing the door, slide the door back and forth and mark the farthest point the *rollers* travel. Set your screws as far from that point as possible. The screws must not be in the path of the rollers -- you'll never get them low enough.
Once set, and after door reinstall, roll the door back and forth, checking for door (not roller) interference w screws. Set the height of the screws accordingly.

I am a woman...couldn't do all of that, but thank you! I put some jb weld, so far so good! LOL! I really appreciate your long detailed answer, though, so kind of you. God bless!

In other words, “Thanks for telling me how to do it correctly, now I’ll just do it the way I was going to anyway.”

Once both the stationary and operating panels are removed, you should be able to carefully pry it off.

It's kind of silly that the door track in this video is in practically new condition. If it looked like this, it wouldn't need repair.

Does anyone know where I can source one of these track covers in the UK? I can't find them anywhere apart from SWISCO but its 130 Dollars shipping for some inexplicable reason.

NewHopePennsylvania Well I emailed them to ask if this calculation was correct and they just very generically told me to use the website calculation for a quote. I presume this means that it was correct, but they didn't want to admit it? It was all very strange

According to your website the track covers listed here are discontinued, probably should take down the video.
