    Subscribed a few videos back because you are amazing. In the time your video is finished, I may have been able to get out 3 screws :-) You save people lots of money with your talent. You may have shown this in another video, I'm wondering is there a chemical spray that will clean off that grime build up from mowing and triming without penetrating the motor? It would seem the cleaner you can keep the motor the cooler it will run saving some wear and tear in the long run. Your camera angle is great too.

    Nice video for finding vacuum leaks. My issue with a BG65 blower I recently acquired, is this. I can get it to start, but as soon as you take the choke off, it'll stall right out. I've found if I start throttling it up while I take the choke off, I can get it up to full throttle and it'll stay there. If you feather the throttle within half to full speed, it'll respond ok. But letting it idle down to less than that results in a stall. Took the low speed screw out, cleaned out the port and screw. Reinstalled and set it to one turn out. Rechecked, but still responds the same. I noticed if I kept backing the screw out to about 2-3 full turns, it would take longer to idle down, but still stall. So I tried spraying carb cleaner around the carb (closest to the intake flange)while I was holding the throttle. And noticed it would run longer, and sometimes stay running, when I let go of the throttle. So I assume it's got a vacuum leak. Was getting darker and colder outside, so I quit for the day. Just wondering if the engines in the BG65 are similar to the trimmer you have. So I can check for leaks from the same areas.

    I have that same trimmer, on a cold start, full choke it sounds louder, which is not normal, then half choke very high rpms and the trimmer head is spinning like crazy which also is not normal. Then when I take it off choke low rpms, then after adjusting the idle mixture screws to the correct rpms (3000), then pulling the trigger to reving it up it revs up perfect but after releasing the trigger it idles high around 4000rpms then the rpms will slowly decrease then it will shut off. I have replaced it with two carburetors, new fuel filter and fuel line hoses and a new spark plug. What would you suggest I try next?

    • @imanolberecibar
      @imanolberecibar 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lawn mower usually has a governor which controls the speed of the engine, if it is running wide open after a hit you should start by resetting the governor in case ot slipped due to the hit and also verify the throttle linkage is not binding

    Thanks for this video. I have a stihl FS100RX that wont stay at idle. I can adjust the carb and it will idle, then rpms come up and wont maintain a steady idle. I suspect I have a seal leak, and now I know an easy way to check/repair it. Do you have a link where I can get the seals? I didnt see them when doing a quick search on amazon.

  • @malcolmjohnson5941
