Dami has the most gangster speaking and rapping voice and then this very pretty, delicate singing voice. 🥰 She's like the master in the forest that the main character in an anime has to find and they're like "This small ass lady is the master?!" and then she destroys them in one half-assed attack. 😂 Siyeon was in top form and has the perfect OST voice. Ngl, I only listen to OSTs from Mamamoo and Dreamcatcher and only because I mistakenly heard Love Lane once and didn't hate it.
The original version of the song is good, sounds very Dreamcatcher, but the slow version... god that just hits different lol. Chills indeed Siyeon is a vocal queen as usual but I was so impressed by Dami! Holding your own next to Siyeon isn't easy and she did great!

The OST is for a "not" Zombie K-Drama called Dark Hole. And, yes; it distracts a bit when you're trying to listen intently as people are taking an axe to each other. I think there's a consensus the slow version hits harder. In regards to high notes, not that long ago a TV show had the DC members engage in a high note contest. Siyeon, no dummy, dropped out early. Pretty soon only Dami and SuA were left. And I'm convinced Dami took a dive before SuA destroyed her vocal cords trying to win. Dami was using technique (her diaphragm) and a bit of help from Gahyeon while SuA, being SuA, was simply trying to power through.

Both versions are great! Personally the original is great because it still had that hardcore rock forward sound that dreamcatcher always has but the slow version is great because you can feel the emotions in their vocals a lot more. I got goosebumps from listening to my girls slay! Especially Dami hitting them high notes! My bias! 🤧 ♥️

universally everyone loves the slow ver but the normal ver def have its place depending on the time ur listening to it and imo so far all the distortion parts they've used on dami's parts were tasteful imo

The original version is cool, so too the effects on Dami's voice, but I do appreciate hearing her voice (all of their voices) with less production.

So if I had to pick a version I would pick the slow version. Dami gets abit more parts in it.. and this slow stuff is just a weakness for me in general. Regular version will blow your mind and give you goosebumps while she slow version will pull the r heart stings and make you emotional/cry. Siyeon’s lower register is just as deadly as her higher register/high notes. Love the juxtaposition of their voices, they compliment each other. They have MVs for both versions, but they lyric videos make it easier to focus on the vocal. Also, have you watched the Poison Love special clip, Siyeon’s Return cover and 2yoo’s Mood cover?
idk if u know this but siyeon and dami now have their own studio and have been working on their own stuff. siyeon said she was interested in working as a sub-unit with dami and jiu (composers unit? ex-roommates unit?) so I think this might be a small look into what they working together would potentially be like. exciting!

And I did actually notice that fly high onwards Siyeon's voice got a lot deeper compared to Chase me and Goodnight where she still sounded higher and thinner, similar to her Minx days. Even Dami mentioned her voice was very thin and high in Minx. Do you think it's an age thing or just the difference in style because they definitely sound closer to their speaking voice now than they did back then? I wanted to mention something about Dami's vocals. The girl is so concious about her singing and gets nervous because it's not her forté like rapping is but I felt so proud when she sang in Odd Eye. Slow version is more like OST, it's suitable for Korean taste. The emotion is double when you have piano and Siyeon's haunting voice. While the original is undoubtedly like one of Dreamcatcher's song. I like it more cause of the instrument.
Slow version is my favorite too but both are great. And yeah that was Dami's No Way high note, if you listen to it a few times you'll recognize her accent is different than Siyeon when she says no way

I think her technique has improved a lot since debut. She had good technique now! You can tell she really works hard to improve. I think she is amazing. ❤️
Siyeon rated herself as one of the top 50 (or top 20?) vocalists in K-pop in a 2020 or early 2021 interview, but didn’t when she was asked the same question in 2018/early 2019 and was actually surprised when she was reminded that she didn’t rate herself that highly in the earlier interview. I’m hardly surprised, though. Siyeon’s 2018-2019 skills were honestly kind of crap compared to what she can do today. She was never outright bad, but her voice feels much more consistent and versatile today.

I think her technique has improved a lot since debut. She had good technique now! You can tell she really works hard to improve. I think she is amazing. ❤️

Siyeon rated herself as one of the top 50 (or top 20?) vocalists in K-pop in a 2020 or early 2021 interview, but didn’t when she was asked the same question in 2018/early 2019 and was actually surprised when she was reminded that she didn’t rate herself that highly in the earlier interview. I’m hardly surprised, though. Siyeon’s 2018-2019 skills were honestly kind of crap compared to what she can do today. She was never outright bad, but her voice feels much more consistent and versatile today.
@@LafayetteCCurtis I think at the begining of her career she maybe wasn't used to performing, I mean singing and dancing at the same time so maybe that also plays a role in this.
If I somehow didn't respect Dami enough before, I certainly do now. 🔥 The slow version is definitely my favorite, too. And Siyeon doing Siyeon things is always incredible to experience.
