    Try Allstate Carburetor for plating. They are reasonable and never disappointed

    Good morning.... i was just searching up the Holly 4000, ran across your channel, I was wondering if you offered a rebuild service. I have two 4000s, one on my bench and one that's installed on my 55 Crown Vic. The car is running, but it's running extremely rich. I'm a helicopter mech by trade but I'm feel a little intimidated with all these little parts and peices. Some things are better left to the professionals and that's why I was wondering if you offered a rebuild service?

    Daniel, i just bought this 56 tbird. i was going to drive it home 600 miles more or less. didnt know anything about the car. Made about it about 45 miles. Vapor locked, It was trailered the rest of the way. I pulled the carb when i got home. it is a teapot carb Holley ECJ-9510-Y 1164. When I was taking it apart, the part that runs from the throttle body to the pump shaft was disconnected. That was odd. As i am putting it back together after cleaning, i hook up these parts and the pump connecting part will not let the throttle body open up all the way. Am i missing something or part. Also watching your video the washer on on top (the bleeder screen washer). I need the washer.

      Jerry, it is certainly difficult to help diagnose through this means of communication - maybe shoot an email to me at danaxjessup@yahoo.com? that would you could send a few pictures. I find that over the years parts end up being discarded or "left over" on well-meaning carb rebuilds and it sounds like you might have one that went through the ringer. I do not have any of those washers at the moment (they are kind of like a fender washer) but most restoration supply outfits like TeeBird Auto Parts should have one.

    HI, I am storing my 56 T Bird for winter. Where is the drain plug for the carb bowl? It's a new $900 carb. I don't want to make any miss steps. Thanks in advance,

      If your carburetor is a Holley 4000 variant then there is no drain plug. In 1957 Ford and Holley came out with the "modern" design and of course those drain plugs are easily identified on those carbs. For the storage I would suggest that you use Stabil or another ethanol treatment product. If you are running pure gas then you will not need treatment or drainage if only sitting for a few months. If you are concerned about residue in the fuel bowl on your 4000 then removing the lid is a simple process and you can siphon the fuel out of the bowl.

    Good carbs if bad gas never gets to them. However all of the y-blocks are notorious gas hogs.
