I am waiting for the reunion of lost brothers and sisters who have been ignorant of our beautiful faith and tradition to return. That is my prayer. I came from the Sephardim of Spain from both of my parents. They were from Castilla La Vieja. I have tried to hard to return. I live alone and have not been able to be a part of a synagogue. We grew up Catholic and I am 69 years old. My siblings are older than me, I am the youngest of 7 children. My oldest brother passed away 2 years ago. My dad and Mom passed away. But Hashem, blesses is He, revealed to me that I was one of His children from the tribe of Israel. I suffer every time I watch these videos about my people. We lost the tradition, we lost our faith in our Most High G-d. I have returned and I keep the Sabbath but my siblings are still Catholics. How painful it is. I watch all these videos in You Tube in which we are slandered and hated proved by their slander and hurtful words against us, throughout the US and other countries. But I trust in Hashem, blessed is He, that as he promised he would gather us from the four corners of the world. This time they are not going to win, this time they are not going to destroy us. Many descendants might die, but those who trust in Hashem, blessed is He, will be saved!

Dearest Ruwth, if I may call you that, "Ha Shem" was not with with the Sephardym; who mingled with the Arabs and Berbers in Al Andalus in all manner of depravity, it was the Sephardym who were forced by the sword to Catholicism, raped and pillaged by Goths and Celts, the women ravaged and children dashed against stones and before that expelled from the land by the hand of Rome legions, it was Sephardym who hoisted that monstrous work for for so-called perplexed, it was the Sephard who fled to the New World but met the Inquisitor there also, why? What already signified that our elohym had turned His face from us just, as we did to Him many years prior, BECAUSE of our "Traditions" that contend with His towrah [dabar]. If we are under the covenant there is no chance anyone could touch us as a people or nation that was Yahowah's promise but we turned away in favor for man's governance and not His . That, in essence, is the Jewish problem, we blame everyone but ourselves, our damned tradition is what got us expelled, our so-called leaders have lead astray and rendered us weak to the prey of Paul {The wolf of Benyamin and his Rom-ish religion} and Mohammad and his lies. And as promised and written, we are scattered to the four winds for our harlotry. It is YaHoWaH who will whistle for His sheep [in the later days-now] and call it to their remembrance who they are many are awakening in time for the last Yowbel. Yahowah the god of Jacob, Abraham and Issaq is lifting up the nec [banner] for kol [all] am [people] Yisrael; www.yadayah.com God's rule No. 1 Do not call me by any other name, or make it into nothing, ha sham means the name, what name? YHWH in Hebrew is written 7000 times in towrah and is YAHOWAH is ha shem, now you are without excuse, the watchman watches over the flock as the jackals submit to truth. Reaching out on an open source like TH-cam isn't the best way to find truth, I longed to hear the song my aunt sung while ironing the bed sheets, so it is more than serendipity that I read your comment and replied. questioningpaul.com/Questioning_Paul-Apostle_or_False_Prophet-00-The_Truth_About_Paul.Paul

Wonderful tradition which I was not able to live because of the Inquisition. My ancestors were from Spain from both my parents, ended up in America in the 1800's for some reason kept the Catholic religion. But Hashem, blessed is He, is a merciful G-d. He revealed to me that I was from the tribes of Israel, and ever since then I renounced the xtian religion. It has been hard, but not difficult. I keep the Sabbath and all the holidays alone. My siblings are still Catholics. I suffer this lost, but there is nothing I can do because my siblings are old in their 70's, 80's, and don't understand anything about the religion of our ancestors. I resent this very much, but trust in Hashem, blessed is He, that in their spirit will be redeemed. I am following my roots although alone. But I pray constantly to Hashem, blessed is He, to bring my people back. Some day we will be reunited as Hashem, blessed is He, promised. B"H

Was fortunate to be asked by David Raphael to act in one of the songs, the one about the girl whose mother would not consent to her marrying a young man with no prospects ("Hijica Dile a Tu Mama"). My "co-star" was a girl named Sally Mashiach who I unfortunately lost touch with. We filmed the scenes over two or three days. That was about forty years ago.

David Behar hola david! This is the first time I see this video. So, it,s from 1978 and you must be in your 60s, mashalah!
I learned that some Sephardic Jews in Seattle come from the Calvo,s family. I,m actually Calvo also and discovering
my Jewish roots. Interesting! I was born in Spain but I live in San Francisco, so to come all the way from Spain and
find myself in this crossroad in my life...I don,t know what to call it.
      Saludes,
      Juan Calvo

      @@juancalvo2317 Hola Juan,
We have many Calvo's here in Seattle, and I am happy for you that as a "B'nei Anusim Sepharadi" that you have learned of your ancient faith and traditions. Over a quarter of a million of our people were forcefully converted to Catholocism, but still tried to retain their Jewish religious and identity as best they could in the shadow of the bloody Inquisition. You and many others are B'nei Avraham Avinu (sons of our father Abraham) !

I am David Raphael daughter now living in Israel since 2011. As a child we loved that scene and song in the film! You did a great job and just watched it again a few days ago. My father also made a short film on the 1263 disputation of Barcelona of the Ramban that you can view on TH-cam. It will say his name in content.

Nicole, please forgive the very late response to your posting. I missed it somehow, and only found it this evening. First, let me offer you my belated condolences on the passing of your father (Z'L). Although we didn't know each other well, he was a man with a vision of what he wanted to create and was kind enough to let me play a small part in it. Your comments are very kind, although I fear undeserved. I can't watch the portion of the film that I was involved in without feeling a bit self-conscious. I can say that it was a lot of fu to work with your father, the sound man (whose name I have long forgotten), and my co-star Sally Mashiach who sadly to say, I have lost track of a long time ago. As David's daughter, I'd like to share something with you, that perhaps you'd enjoy hearing about. The final scene that I did with Sally, involved her getting on a ferry boat and me trying to reach her before the boat sailed away, jumping over the closing gate, reaching the car ramp, and her waving goodbye. Your father was able to get permission from the Washington State Ferries Department to film this with the provision that it be completed in one take. Foot passengers enter the ferry via a separate walkway which is located above the car ramp, but in order to make the scene "work", your father was able to get permission for me to jump over the gate. The timing for the scene had to be just right, I had to reach the gates just as they closed, the ramp had to be elevated, and the ferry had to have pulled far enough away from the dock, so that it would be impossible for me to jump from the ramp to the ferry - talk about pressure. Once the cars were loaded, Sally, a camera man and a sound man moved to the back end of the ferry, while a David and a second camera man got in place near the ramp. On a signal from your father, the gates began to close, the ramp began to rise, the ferry began to pull out quickly, and I began running. I was afraid that I would trip on the gate while jumping over it but didn't (whew!). When I got to the end of the ramp, it had come up fully, and the ferry was far enough away, that it would be clear to the audience that I couldn't have jumped to the ferry. We did it in one take! We had to wait a while until the ferry returned with Sally, the camera man and sound man. To this day, it still makes me sad when I see Sally wave goodbye to me.

Beautiful songs, they remind me of my mom and her friends who I know now were Sephardim. My mom best friend was name Rochi, Herminia Rochi. when her grand mother died whom I used to comb her long, long white hair, the mirror in the house of was covered. I was around 7 years old and could not understand why they cover all the mirrors in the house. They did not sit on chairs, but on the floor, and the older on a low chair. I remember that.

The Ottoman Empire had a significant Jewish community. Many ended up in Israel. There are many books you can read on the subject. The Sephardics have a beautiful tradition. Welcome back!

So much for anti-zionist lies. They are the same color and race as most historical ashkenazim.
Sefaradi and Ashkenazi traditions are what differ greatly, not skin color or genetics. Tons of studies have confirmed the obvious, that we are the same race as most ashkenazim.
I am of Moroccan origin. Sefaradi is a tradition, not a race anyway.
