Stanford already had a legendary comeback against Colorado last year. This program might be struggling currently but they always show great grit. Hope they can eventually thrive in the ACC despite the absurd travel lengths.
Even when Stanford is struggling, they still benefit from having the academic prestige and the work ethic that comes with it, and they are still putting players in the NFL every year. Top tier recruiting is the missing piece for their footbakl program

They can't recruit 4 or 5 star players because the football factory schools will pay them more NIL. And if the non-football factory school recruits 2 and 3 star players, then develops them into 4-star caliber players, the player will transfer the next year to a football factory school for more NIL money. So non-football factoy schools can't build a program anymore. The most they can hope for is to have a good year every once in a while, but to have a long run of "glory years", I don't think it's possible for non-football factory schools anymore. When I saw the other day that Michigan offered a single player $10.5M NIL money, I shook my head and said, "Only football factory schools can compete anymore."

Stanford majorly lowers admittance requirements for football players, but they still have to be able to do arithmetic at an above average level. Those type of elite stock players don't exist anymore. Huge problem for Stanford recruiting

Most players coming out of high school with FBS level size, speed, and athleticism have mediocre grades and poor standardized test scores.
