    • @BigSleepyOx
      @BigSleepyOx หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@amartinsu13 Yeah, Stanford had a great run with Harbaugh and Shaw (until Shaw got burned out).
      But I don't konw that it's possible for Stanford or schools like them to compete in the NIL world. They can't recruit 4 or 5 star players because the football factory schools will pay them more NIL.
      And if the non-football factory school recruits 2 and 3 star players, then develops them into 4-star caliber players, the player will transfer the next year to a football factory school for more NIL money. So non-football factoy schools can't build a program anymore.
      The most they can hope for is to have a good year every once in a while, but to have a long run of "glory years", I don't think it's possible for non-football factory schools anymore. When I saw the other day that Michigan offered a single player $10.5M NIL money, I shook my head and said, "Only football factory schools can compete anymore."

      @@BigSleepyOxwe’ll probably see a more noticeable gap between the “football schools” and “basketball schools” compared to the “good school” schools.
      How players see their own career and future with sports is also a variable there. Choosing schools based on minutes they can play, the potential to get noticed by recruiters, the paycheck from the school, and the degree. And any combo of these can change the scenario for the player. It’ll be interesting to say the least

    Tough loss for Louisville, who was ranked and looking for a good close to the season and bowl game.
    All that effort, only to have a player do some dumb street garbage and give Stanford 15 yards. The whole team probably feels bad but that was one of the stupidest penalties imaginable with how big the game was and how late the game was. I have seen some trash plays, but dude. That was Vontaze Burfict level.

    Stanford majorly lowers admittance requirements for football players, but they still have to be able to do arithmetic at an above average level. Those type of elite stock players don't exist anymore. Huge problem for Stanford recruiting

    • @alberttang6955
      @alberttang6955 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Exactly. Stanford's graduation rate for its football players is typically well above 90%. Compare that to the University of Georgia that graduated 41% of its football players in 2023. Most players coming out of high school with FBS level size, speed, and athleticism have mediocre grades and poor standardized test scores.
