A lot missing here. How about that huge comeback of WMU broncos over UT? Also WMU Broncos 2 trick plays against Purdue in the Motor City bowl. How about CMU trick play to upset OK State? Also Boise State trick play in a bowl game to beat OK
That was the game that made me fall in love with college football. Boise had no business winning that game on paper, and they pulled out all the stops to stun Goliath.
@@joshuawatts5378 They included all three of BSU's trick plays, as they should have. Like you said, they pulled every trick they had in the bag, and it was enough to win a game that nobody gave them ANY chance of winning.
No one ever expects the Flea Flicker. Its such an random play that you often only see in college ball, and that's what keeps things interesting. Freaking love it.
Bear Bryant caused a rule change in college football by using tear-away jerseys with an extra one carried in the player's pants. If his jersey gets destroyed by an attempted tackle during the play, he can pull out the extra and put it on before the next snap and never miss a play. The rules now require the player to be out for a play or his team call timeout if a jersey gets destroyed.
Kickers scoring touchdowns are my favorite trick plays. It's always fun watching a player that only ever kicks the ball to show their true athleticism every now and again.
I hate trick plays from the kneeling formation. That’s the one time you shouldn’t abuse it. Or next time, don’t complain if they destroy your qb just in case
I'll never forget that Boise St v Oklahoma Fiesta Bowl. That was before it was a little more common that G5 schools beat Power 5 teams in BCS Bowls. It was not common at all then, and this was what helped make Boise St into what they are today. I remember being in middle school and having to stay up late to watch it, and thinking how it was so cool that Ian Johnson proposed to a cheerleader after the game 😂😂
lol, 1:45, they're circling the guy and being like "He screwed up" - dude wasn't actually fooled at all, he just took a solid block and couldn't quite get off it. The guy who was supposed to be following the receiver goes off-screen but when he comes back on it doesn't look like he's in the right place.
Not an American but I do enjoy American football to me it’s like a game of chess . I watch a fair bit of it and it seems to me you do not see as many trick plays in the NFL as you do in college football. I may be wrong lol . I live in Australia we have Rugby league here where we play with a similar shaped ball each team in possession gets a number of tackles or as you say plays before kicking it away but we cannot throw it forward .
Boston College vs Villanova was the one that got me bad (as well as the cameraman) these are some great trick plays. This is why I love college football, you don't see plays like this in the NFL
This restores my Faith in American Football ! Some of the lateral plays going down field are a little hard to get used to, as I think it just reminds me of maybe how European rugby is played ? Still Good stuff ! 🖐️ 🤚 🏈 😉 🏈
This video is advertised as being less than 18 minutes, but with all the time I spent rewatching and analyzing nearly every play it turned into a 2 hour project.
I’d like to see an offensive lineman throw a pass. I have never seen it happen, and with the quarterback being an eligible receiver (has to be at least 1 yard behind the center in the NFL), if he were to pitch it to a lineman, then such a play would give the lineman 6 eligible receivers to throw to.
The fair catch guy has guts to try that. Could’ve been tee’d off on. Maybe that can only be attempted bc it’s not the 80’s-90’s anymore when defenders could straight destroy you.
"The Train" was a part of the "trickeration" method of rebuilding a team... then my school (Michigan) finally got some players who could win in the B1G.

Ol Carey Spear aka "Murderleg". That man could hit harder than some defensive players. I remember when he demolished Cordarrelle Patterson on a kickoff

When a guy gives himself up like that fair catch play that should just be considered a dead ball. It doesn't make sense because if after a slight pause the defensive player blows him up they're definitely going to call a penalty. The play was f****** over LOL
Yeah, and taking advantage of customs for player safety is pretty sleazy. Hope he got blasted the next time he fielded a punt, whether he fair catches or not.
As a Razorback fan, I thought it was a BS call, and the no-whistle tells me they were likely informed of it ahead of time. Either way, it worked, and it didn't make a difference in the game, because we got ROLLED that day.
On top of that, whether he waved his hands or not the initial pause could easily be considered giving himself up. That happens dozens of times a year both in the NFL and the ncaa. Love your videos but Michigan lining up in a straight line before eventually breaking into formation and running a normal play is not a trick play.
